I agree, he's a bridge to the west coast and knows the Big 10 footprint with his time at Michigan.
sounds like Cal got him on the cheap and didn't pay him his worth?.......he will be valued at NU.

I'm surprised that this discussion continues as there has not been any new information in over a week!

Tua is a special kid and playing for Alabama gives him a huge edge......he has a lot of guys to help him look good and post outrageous stats!
of course both kids need to make it through the season and stay healthy.
-
Tua is pretty much a lock for this year......maybe 2020 for Martinez.

anyone know who the top targets are (so far) in the 2020 class? maybe this should be moved to recruiting forum?

I feel very few people on here understand how the court system works...rule #1 is that nothing is ever as bad as it seems. Even with murder.

I don't know why the University has to get involved in a players private criminal matters. So like after reading the article, you read things like " arrange an interview with", and referred "Bruning to the athlete" etc . What the hell. It should be like this: Hi this is California calling, we need to talk to your stud running back about some possible felonies. Nebraska: OK his dorm room number is #XYZ and phone number is blah blah , and please ask him to call us if he is going to be extradited.
These are grown a$$ free men. They aren't a protected class nor are they property of the University. They are not in the Army, there are no special protections.
yeah, not sure how or why Bruning got involved? it gets messier from there.....

what else is buried in our program? bothers me most that we evidently don't have a process for uncovering past transgressions with pending charges.....don't ask, don't tell?

Seems like it’s proceeding exactly as it should. It’s hot news now, but it’ll eventually cool and what will be will be.
Most info coming out suggests that he faces consequences up to and including jail; but there are several other alternates to that sentence including diversion, fines, and reduced plea agreements.
I’m feeling like he did something stupid and will pay for it. He will serve his punishment and eventually move on. Methinks with the Cornhuskers. That’s my initial inconsequential opinion.
l don't want him playing for NU.

What is your point regarding NU's awareness of this last year?
"According to a lead investigator on the case, the University was made aware of the allegations against Washington sometime last fall, but he was allowed to play through the entire season."
oh boy........this is not good.

Does it matter if the intent was to strictly embarrass vs re-victimize an assault victim?
no, it is still considered a crime in the state of Cally-confusion.

Yes, in this case it's a crime.

in context, out of context, your brother and sister did it too.......you did it.......doesn't matter.
all this is about him sending the video....everything else is irrelevant. he sent it, period. there is a law against what he did.

Its just with all of the instances of sexual misconduct of varying degrees happening at colleges and constant cover ups and preferential treatment of athletes, I guess I was hoping UNL would have been able to be transparent from the start of this months ago. It’s not a good look.
I don’t wish or hope MW is gone. I don’t hope or wish Frost gets in trouble. I just want my team/athletic department to be better than the rest of them with stuff like this.

being quiet for so long does not help Frost.........he will now need a prepared statement from his lawyer, ah retainers.

It's a skeleton statement. These are often released in the immediacy of a situation to say "we're aware." It doesn't necessarily mean anything, but it could mean something. Saying it's odd or strange is equally odd and strange to me. I don't think there's enough there to take anything away from it at all.
Plus, UNL has to be smart. Anything said in a public statement can come back to bite them in the a$$. The last thing they or any entity would want to do is say the wrong thing in a rush.
i am sure everyone involved is going to lawyer up, this program sure does not need a black eye!

Here is a good article on the "roster flexibility".
this pretty much explains it, we can use those pics next year.

are we still addicted to kool aid?.........huge improvement in this conference is not likely, everyone is going to be better........just like us.
7-5 or 6-6 are very likely...........8-4 would be blessing. as usual, a bit of luck could swing the results by a game

Frost was trying to get a pass rusher up to the very end of recruiting, so looks like someone will have to be developed.
