  1. we are no different than any other team........we have no magic, we are like everyone else in the league, we are trying to get better.....that doesn't mean we will forge ahead and suddenly have a 10 win season. there are too many variables and we are still fighting to establish depth at a lot of positions.....Frost admits, he doesn't have all the pieces.....that is likely still a couple years out.....just getting better should be the goal. that may not translate into 8 or 10 wins..........we will know progress when we see it....hopefully.

We saw flashes for 3 years.  People can give all the credit world to 6 months of fitness, but it’s more than that.  It be ignorant to say S&C didn’t benefit Ozigbo, but contributing the majority of his success to a few months of training is disingenuous.

He played in offense with two QBs that allowed Defenses to stack the box.  The offense get a legitimate threat at QB and the pressure is relieved.  And some much improved coaching.  The O Line went from horrid to acceptable.  Ozigbo goes from donkey (not my words) to third team all conference 1000 yard rusher.

It was always there and some of us saw that.  The leadership and QB changes definitely helped.

You don’t suck because the organization you work for does.  Sometimes youre a product of a broken system.

it would be wrong to say Riley was a coach............he f#&%ed up the talent that he had while he was here....nice guy, but clueless, needs to work for a NPO.

His grades would be a stronger indicator than his use of marijuana.  No one puts "pot smoker" on their resume. Sounds more like he has some things to clean up rather than "unanswered questions".  He would be a huge addition to the team.  Probably why the staff hasnt written him off yet.

we thought Bell was gonna be a big help too......i say we don't need distractions.

I won't begrudge anyone who is pessimistic or unsure of how to process the potential of year two. The climate in college football is always "teams make their biggest jump in year two." I'm confident the team will continue to grow, but, how that translates into wins or losses... I'm still not sure what to think.

AM is a generational QB talent for Nebraska and I don't think that's hyperbole. I'm also feeling pretty good about the offensive line and the offensive weapons available.

The pass rush and defensive front seven is a huge question. They've brought in some pieces with good potential, like Caleb Tannor last year and Ty Robinson this year, but I still think they're a season or two away here.

I think they've got to get bowl eligible - that's my floor and my perception of their ability. Anything above that is gravy.

pretty much spot on.........getting to a bowl is important.  we need to let all these freshman jell next season, we really can't expect many to be impact players, our depth is still an issue, we need to start building (conditioning) experience and depth.........2020 is the year to expect the jump.  be patient everyone.

  5. at the end of the day, your W/L record is what it is.........spin is for those who can't accept reality.

it's OK........really.  Frost hoping that a whole bunch of true freshman will make an immediate impact......

I would say 2020 will be the start of more consistent results.

    4-8 IS 4-8.

Yeah. Norman is only 190 miles north of Dallas and it’s almost as far south as Phoenix. Looking at a map, it is roughly the same latitude as the southern border of Tennessee.

I don’t think the weather has near as much to do with this trend as proximity to recruiting hotbeds does. I also don’t think the perception of being rural is much of a factor. Tuscaloosa is no metropolis and pretty rural. Clemson SC is tiny and rural. The trick IMO is to get back to at least semi prominence, develope some consistency in staff and winning and then recruiting becomes much easier. Sustaining a program at a high level is much easier than getting there in the first place. It’s not the weather.

    exactly!
