texas tech game, although a native Nebraskan i am stuck in this god forsaken state, and have to listen to this Texas crap every year...it would open some eyes recruiting wise if we could hand them their @$$ on a plate! big order, but hoping for the best back home........GBR!

dave, i think you missed the point, you of all people here do not need to exaggerate and use unacceptable language to make your point, kick my dog? your imagination seems to be getting the best of you, sure disagree with me, but try to be a little more respectful, as you should be setting the example here..the rest of my point is this, i do not have the opportunity to attend fan day, so media day would have provided more info for me and it is something i always looked forward to in the past, so yes, for me, not having another shot at info, besides some of the trash put up on this board, would have been nice....GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

with this point, i agree, Cally should be given time to get his system staffed with his recruits and then we can judge the results, will take 3-4 years IMHO

well sorry to piss you off Dave, you seem a little intolerant, bad day? my point is it is another opportunity for players to learn to handle the media and fans to get a perspective and come to know the players a little bit better by way of more info being shared, whether by the sportswriters or the players quotes themselves...i guess you guys prefer the K-State mode, no interviews, closed doors, not very good for fan relations, is it? just my opinion, but looks like thrashing/bashing is the trend here for things that don't suit the moderators? wow, thought this was a better place than that??

and one more day devoted to practice is not going to make us "turn the corner" either.......i don't cling to NU tradition, but somewhere along the way people see so many things dropped that they begin to ask questions......changing for the sake of change does not guarantee success.....media day is something that correlates to fan support......i guess Cally doesn't need that either? just remember his stupid comments about just one game, just one season....is everyone ok with that hs too?

doesn't make any sense, we don't have depth anywhere and TE is really short....

go figure......things are not making much sense at this point, better be a damn good reason for the switch and it better show during the season too!

i really don't think "the loss" of a day is that big of deal, i just think Cally trashes traditions with no consideration of the consequences, get used to it folks, he will run this program "his way" so forget anything that was a part of past Husker tradtion........welcome to the NFL style of coaching.....all business

blackshirt is correct.....Beck learns the system, Taylor plays, adjusts and gets better as the year goes along, unlike Dailey who showed no improvement.....

still, 5.4 seems really slow.......can a guy that slow have "quick feet"?

the maine game will tell you about as much as spring practice did....expect for the impact of the new kids coming in, and then it will not be a good barometer for predicting the tougher games on the schedule......

both these guys will be fine, Lucky will have more impact this year than Beck, but next season they both will be solid, lots of talent, just need the experience.....

no comparison, Taylor is light-years ahead of where Dailey was at this time last year AND Taylor is coming off a very successful JUCO season. he will be nervous to start, but i think he will settle in pretty quickly and do just fine.........

well, he doesn't quite have "all the pieces" to make it work all the time, BUT he has enough to show marked improvement.........me too, it must be a competitive team and play with fire and focus for all 4 quarters, every game......we will be able to tell if that happens by not only watching the players, but by watching the coaches as well..........

and i say after such a devastating injury and TWO surgeries to correct it, why hurry this kid? he deserves to come back WHEN HE FEELS HE IS READY, and not before......give this kid some space here

it is just a field with a new look, i am more concerned at "what" we put on it, August will soon be here and we will begin to get a read on what that might be like........

i know everyone is fired up about Beck and Taylor, but as i posted earlier this summer, IMHO, i think Lucky and Congdon are going to be the real impact players this season, especially as freshman.........

well, if you think about it, Cally turned up the intensity in spring ball, which resulted in some injuries, but it sent a message, toughen up or get the hell out.....

practices should simulate game day effort, don't you think? and maybe Coz did learn something about running a college football defense, maybe....we'll see
