Has anyone messed with the recruiting add ons available for purchase?

my cousin has it, and in my opinion it is cheating! The recruiting advisor will tell you who to recruit to get them to commit some weeks, and highlights players for you.

It is really nice to hear ESPN speak positively about Nebraska, but why limit the top players poll to just offense? BLACKSHIRTS BABY!!!

Is it just me or do they report on Florida State or Tennessee every episode of college football live? WHO CARES!

Baylor would probably be the most fun, as we are almost guaranteed to win and they won't have many fans there, so it will be easy to get in and out, other than all those Nebraska fans!

I would not even come close to saying that Baylor is a guaranteed win....They are a team that is seriously improving and I think that the game will be a good one. In addition you will get to watch a QB in Griffin that is a phenom! That said I do think the Baylor game would be the one that I would visit if I had the $. I just wish that they were not located in Waco. Do you think we could get Osborne to convince them to move the game to that fancy-pants new stadium built outside of Dallas?

I love the fact that Nebraska continues to fly under the radar both within the Big XII and nationally. While my kool-aid isn't strong enough to predict a BCS game, I do think we will win the north and produce an upset of either OU or V-Tech!

Here are my thoughts...

1) Despite being a former Husker, this move solidifies my opinion that Keller is a whiner and cry-baby.

2) He is right that the game does attempt to use accurate representations of players.

3) He is wrong in that the game does not use likenesses. If a picture of Keller appeared next to his stats (like Madden) he would have a case, as is it is a generic form model that resembles many other people. I know it is dividing black and white with a thick gray marker, but I feel this is where the case will go.

4) The University, and athletic department, does make money off this and those funds are used to do things like pay for meals and hotels on away games and furnish each athlete with a complete university wardrobe. At UNL this is a given, but at some smaller schools they can't afford all of the small perks.

5) If this suit makes the NCAA pull all of its collegiate games, I will in fact hate Keller forever....

So with the spring game over I am missing my college football fix. I dusted off NCAA 09 and realized I never really got all that good at recruiting. What are some of the strategies that you use to put together good teams?

 

Which platform do you use? PS2? PS3? X-Box, X-Box360?

I am on the 360, but I really miss the old method of recruiting. Don't get me wrong...I know that this one is much more realistic. But I miss being able to get through a full season in 1/2 an hour. You can spend that much time on one week with the next gens!

I am sorry to hear that he is leaving but I have to wish all of the luck in the world to the kid (just so long as you don't end up playing NU in the future) But this does raise the question....

To which North Carolina school will this NU QB transfer go to???

Shouldn't most teams in the B12 N hate us? We handed out years of brutal poundings. Now that we are medicore how can they not enjoy it. I would if i were them.

GREAT post, I agree that fans of other teams SHOULD hate us. Even in down years, NU is the flagship of the Big XII North & it is no surprise that all of the other North teams hate us. And in turn we will hate who ever the top 1 or 2 teams are that year. 97-2001 = K-State, 2001-2003 = CU, 2004-2008 = Missery. I have a TON of respect for every team in the North and I can't wait to play against all 5 of our division rivals (6 with OU) next year.

I never thought this matchup matters at all. By the time our QB has to go into Lawrence (and as much as they want it to be it's still not intimidating) he will already have gone to blacksburg which is a much harsher enviroment, gone to Columbia which is a similar environment and played the best team he'll face all season in OU at home.

 

KU couldn't hang with our defense last year, we will be better this year they will be about the same. I think we win by at least 10.

 

The Colorado game is the game that will decide the North. NU and CU will be the top two teams in the division this year.

Could not agree more, I feel that CU, Missery, and NU will be the top three without a question next year. I am just not sure that KU can beat either OU or Texas.

 

When will NU be able to realistically be in the mix for the 5 star players?

 

I love the Pelini hiring,but when you look at rivals 5 star and top 100 players,NU is absent.

 

Will the current staff be able to recruit these players to Nebraska?

 

I know star rankings are not everything,but when you look at who is winning MNC,its the guys with the best recruiting.{USC,Fla,LSU,Texas,Ohio State....}

 

Face it,recruiting is SO important to NU as the state talent pool is so thin.

 

NU will not win the Big 12 Title until the recruiting is top 10.

Yes recruiting is important and NU fans should want every class to be in the top 10, but at least for a couple years I am done with worrying about the overall ranking. To me, it seems like a player is rated as a 5* only AFTER he is offered by one of the schools you list above, and if this process wasn't just a way to sell subscriptions to an internet site it would be the other way around.

Now before people get into a hissy fit, I know that NU had top 10 classes under Osborne. All I ask is that you remember that we were one of those "Major" schools back them and definitely reaped the benefits.

That said, I am very excited about the class Pelini is bringing in, NU can & WILL win a Big 12 title even without a top 10 recruiting class, and I am certain that highly ranked classes are in NU's future.
