  1. Army OC would make sense, even if it’s just rumors. The guy also coached OL at Georgia Southern. Can be the run game coordinator with his experience at Army. Fits in next to Joseph as passing game coordinator. Would also coach the OLine.

Would be a dream to get Grimes, though. BYU’s offensive was a beast under him

  2. Not just hire a special teams coach but dedicate time towards that third of the game.

We win 4 more games from that aspect alone.

Frost becomes more disciplined with his players and demand more perfection in practice and in games. We don’t magically do things bad in games…it starts in practice and the mentality of making a mistake is ok. The Best coaches demand high standards and steer these young men towards that standard.

  3. A couple stats not on there that have been huge are special teams (returns and coverage and FG%) also takeaways, and in our case give aways per game.

    edited to add penalties!

ok did a deeper dive into the stats and the numbers aren’t that bad. But I think the timing of those mistakes were at really crucial times in the game. Turnovers vs Illinois and Purdue lost those games for us.

Penalties cost us in others. Special teams cost us vs MSU as well as that INT in OT.

mixed bag of Mistakes on important plays.

I found out yesterday that I was selected as Teacher of the Year. It just so happened that yesterday was also Sports Day, where we could wear attire representing our favorite teams. Pretty certain I'm the only guy in Louisiana rocking a Nebraska Cornhuskers hat and a throwback Bucs SUH #93 Creamsicle jersey.

Congratulations!! And thank you for assisting our future through education! Hopefully creating new ties to big red!

  5. Any insiders know how strict frost is on the players? I remember hearing he got after them at the NW game and they responded well in the 2nd half. Made me wonder maybe he’s too soft on them? “Don’t be afraid to make a mistake” gets you pushed to the side at the successful school. Because the point is to not make those mistakes. Especially repeatedly. Demand excellence to attain excellence.

  6. Special teams. What would our record be if we didn’t make those errors on special teams? Missed FG’s, extra points, 7 yard punt, safety on a punt return, actually punting it to the direction of the directional punt call, fair catch around the 20 instead of letting it roll to the 5. The lack of a reliable kicker affected our play calls throughout the season. A 20 yard FG is a 50-50 gamble this year.

  7. I think he gets another at least one more year. Even with all the issues of fumbles and strange penalties, we are a special teams coach away from being what…5-3. And a QB coach and ST coach from 6-1/7-0.:koolaid2:

There has been some development with some of the guys. With him being homegrown, he gets more leash.

  8. I’ve heard recently that Frost has recently been more on top of the overall program being more demanding. And the results have been slightly better (except most importantly on the scoreboard).

All of the most successful coaches that I’ve seen and been around have been very demanding. High expectations and accountability and holding players to those expectations.

is Frost too soft? Can he change? Will that change our culture or will it matter?

  9. Without watching the game, I basically know exactly what happened by reading this thread…it’s the same story every loss. We had opportunities to win. We weren’t disciplined enough to make our assignments every play. We need a special teams coach to work with our kickers. We have difficulties calling the right plays in the red zone. We had mistackles on their scoring drives. 2 AM had a couple poor decisions or missed reads that led to big plays for the other team or missed opportunities for ourselves. And probably a couple of questionable calls that seemed to be in big spots in the game.
