Where's BigWillie? I know he refuted this story several times -- including a claim that the rumor was invented as a joke on some forum playing into the plane-watching frenzy. Of course, maybe they inadvertently did get the actual plane ... which would be quite the twist!

Since he openly did it on RSS - SarasotaHusker was the guy who started the troll. He admitted it was a troll just days later, and will admit it even today. He picked a random private jet flying out of Smith-Reynolds in Winston Salem that was headed to Atlanta. The powers that be were in Atlanta at that time doing a few interviews. McKewon picked up on the post, ran an article about it just an hour or two later. From there, national writers picked up on it, and now we're here.

Why Grobe continues to lie about it to this day, I don't know. Self serving and a bit of ego, I guess?

So is Osborne lying about interviewing him for the job?

Informal phone conversation to ask about interest in the job? Yes. Brian Kelly was contacted. Paul Johnson was contacted. Lane Kiffin. Numerous guys were.

Did he have an in person interview, and the job being offered? No. Only two candidates had in person interviews - Pelini and Gill. Pelini was flown up to Atlanta, the same time we were allegedly flying Grobe into Atlanta, and that's where Bo was officially offered the job.

I can see Trump as a very polarizing figure who people either love or love to hate, but the idea that there are people so uninformed that they'd vote for Hillary is seriously mind-boggling. I don't trust any polls, especially 5 months before the election, but wow...

Pure irony calling others uninformed here.

Obama's numbers have rebounded a bit the past couple months, but the last I checked he is still the most polarizing POTUS in US history.

I think alot of people get it incorrect when they say things like this. Obama is deeply unpopular with Republicans. The average approval rating for his entire term has been 14% among Republicans. That's about 10 points lower, on average, than any President's average approval rating by the opposite party in 50+ years. Further, his approval rating has never been higher than 23% with Republicans at any point during his term. But it has been as low as 6%.

Overall, Obama is at 53% during his last year in office. And that's with approval ratings over 50% by moderates as well.

By comparison, if Obama were to leave office right now, he would trail only FDR, JFK, Eisenhower, and Clinton for highest approval rating when leaving office. And yes, he would be above Reagan.

So yes, in a way Obama is polarizing. But it's only to a small section of the country.

I agree with this up to the point where Kenny's impatient Tweet appears to have reversed the proposed change within hours, apparently to everyone's satisfaction.

Then we will have to agree to disagree.

I mean, it's not as if Kenny doesn't have access to the coaches. He spent last summer training with Coach Williams in Lincoln. And Coach Riley has easily been the most accessible coach to former players in a LONG time. So Kenny's ability to pick up the phone, and ask questions to people to find an answer to what was going on could have happened. That would have been the grown up thing to do, to ask questions, be patient, and see what could be done.

But with no back story to what had happened with the testing results, no idea who made the decision, no idea why they made the decision, or even no idea what was going to happen going forward, he just goes straight to Twitter to complain.

Kenny asks for respect of former players, at least so he says. But it's completely ironic he shows no respect to fans, the administration, the University, or the current coaches with his Twitter postings over the last few years.

Kenny Bell wanting attention and causing drama? That's so unlike him.

Would you say the same about Ameer?

    Track record says, no.

Kenny has a history of calling out fans, the administration, and even the new coaches. In most instances, he just wants to scorch the ground just because he has the voice of a former player. Ameer has no history of any of that.

To go further, Ameer was asked his thoughts much after the fact of Kenny going to Twitter to whine. The whole situation could have been resolved if Kenny had more patience than that of a 6 year old screaming, "ARE WE THERE YET?" The University just hired a new Chancellor yesterday. But Kenny thought he needed answers immediately about names on a Vizio screen in the weight room? C'mon, Kenny just needs to be a grown ass man for a change and not use Twitter, or any social media, just to start drama. Leave that to the teenage girls.

  6. The Devaney hire is huge just for the fact it shows the amount of respect Riley has in this profession. You have a guy in Devaney who has spent 30+ years as a scout, personnel and front office guy. And the first time Devaney comes to the college game is to work with Riley, who he work alongside during their stint with the Chargers.

Plus it doesn't hurt that Devaney has made a LONG career out of scouting NFL talent. Having that set out eyes in the AD certainly cannot hurt.

It's not my job to gather info from your statements.

Specifically, what did we do that was different?

More importantly, was there more zone blocking? Man? Iso runs? Reads? Fullback? Power? Personnel (21, 11, 12)? Bueller?

Don't feel like typing it out on my phone, so here you go.

So you want me to go thru 5 hours of video to confirm your blanket statement for you? #cmonson

I'll wait until you are off your phone. :)

    That's a half story.

    Example:

    BYU - 37 rushes, 127 yards (3.4 YPC)

    Northwestern - 38 rushes, 82 yards (2.2 YPC)

    Iowa - 38 rushes, 137 yards (3.6 YPC)

That stat also gets inflated because of the Purdue game, where we played from so incredibly far behind the entire game. Minus the Purdue game, the run:pass ratio in losses is 48:52

Again... watch HOW we ran the ball.

    Please enlighten.

    :snacks:

It's rather simple. Look types of running plays (and when we used them) vs Illinois, Purdue, Wisconsin, and Northwestern... vs what we did vs MSU and UCLA. Hell, Purdue's rush D was worse than UCLA's, and we couldn't have been more vanilla in the run game against the boilermakers.

  11. If he could win by heart alone, he'd be one of the best. But his mechanics are shakey and I'm afraid that at this point in his career he may never be able to overcome them.

The weird thing is, from everything I know, Tommy doesn't have these crappy mechanics in practice which is what absolutely frustrates the coaching staff. Put him in a full scrimmage, or an actual game, and Tommy resorts to terribly bad habits.

It sort of reminds me of Taylor Martinez 'changing' his throwing motion. It looked differently in the summer, and fall practices. But the minute those lights came on and the real games were played, Taylor went back to those horrific throwing mechanics he always had.

    BLAME LANGSDORF! FIRE FIRE FIRE!

    CU2wS5oUcAACeQF.jpg

Two guys WIDE open running routes. Tommy goes with the lowest percentage throw of any on this play.

I cannot stress enough how terrible of a QB Tommy really is.

Fine, but why put the ball in the hands of your terrible QB in a critical situation like that? RUN THE f'ing BALL!

Because at what point do you just stop throwing the ball altogether if you cannot trust your QB whatsoever? That's the only other option when you have Tommy as your QB.

The play worked. The QB didn't.

  13.

It is absurd to keep TA in the game. RF would be better than TA especially if he does not throw the ball 50 TIMES!!! Bush and Darlington are also available. Put one of them in and focus on the run. Limit mistakes, doesn't sound as absurd as letting TA throw up prayers, and throw the game away.

Bush? Darlington? Go eat the leftover turkey and drop the booze. We're trying to win a game. Not get beat Wisconsin style, again.

All you can do is call names. Pathetic.

Not once have I called you any name. I have called your points absurd, because, well, they are. To think Langsdorf just sits with his thumb up his butt and doesn't coach Tommy about these constant mistakes is just the height of silliness.

If you take offense to that, grow some thicker skin.
