Yeah I'd like a non-conference schedule with KU and Mizzou. I also like Oklahoma as a non-conference game.
Oklahoma has already said it happen cause they don't wanna play both us and Texas every year.
I'm in for preserving the KU game, isn't it one of the longest continuous rivalries west of the Mississippi? Besides when the b12 breaks up they could very well join us in the b10, so maybe Wed only have to preserve it for a few years, probably til 2016 which actually might b pretty hard, but I say if we can do it-do it.
Oklahoma usually has a tough non-conference schedule so I don't know why they wouldn't want to play us.
Whoops forgot the word "wouldn't "

when you remove money as a factor, I would say I find the Big 12 much, much more appealing.
Oppressive Texas is appealing

I must admit I wasn't that crazy about the Big 10 and initially had a negative feeling when I first heard about the possible move. But to be honest with you, I did not have any good reasons, like the poster, for my past feeling for the Big 10. Once I understood the whole story about how it will help NU academically and perhaps Nebraska's economy, I was in.
I have had the impression in comparing the Big 10 to the Big 12 South Division, that the Big 12 South had more speed overall. But even though OSU looked slower against LSU in that NC game a few years ago, they did defeat Miami in that NC game some years back. One out of three isn't too bad. With Pelini making Nebraska into a fast team again, like Osborne's later teams, that maybe would help inspire more Big 10 teams to get faster -- but I think the Big 10 teams are already improving on that.
Michigan is also supposedly getting faster with RichRod's spread
... that's if he stays though
But I agree I used to always see it as a slow conference, but maybe that's cause I stereotyped the Big 10

1. Suh - For obvious reasons.
2. Dillard - Became a very solid MLB for us.
3. Asante - Smart defensively and made good calls for the D.
4. O' Hanlon - His heart and his ball hawking playstyle.
5. Turner - Good DE off the edge but never got to his full potential IMO.
Just about couldn't a said it better myself. Asante's penalties won't b missed though, but I loved the guys intensity... hed bull ya over

now we gotta start comparing our recruiting classes w The big 10 schools rather than teams like Missouri, Texas, and OU. Any recruiting experts wanna take the liberty to map out how were stacking up against the competition?
Also I think we had the best rivals ranking outa the big 10 last year, but maybe Penn State did better

location is a big problem in my book.
Dude we have a team jet!!!!

Always good to have a previous major leauger on staff. Just think, if we could somehow keep the majority of the 8 recruits of ours that were drafted and Starling, we could b a major player in the college baseball world again

I have to admit..
I felt the same way as the OP for the first week.
I've hated all things Big-10 pretty much all my life...especially last year when I had to go to a bar to watch Nebraska play while the BTN was showing three different B-10 games on my TV at home.
I'm not too ashamed to say I'm not too old and set in my ways to admit some of you guys were able to change my mind.
The research grant/AIC thing was the kicker for me.
Now I have a whole season to start liking the product...Or Maybe my team can make the conference watchable the next season.
Pretty much my situation

i still don,t like nu joining the big 10, allways hated he big 10....playing ohio state, penn state, they are eastern schools, location is a big problem in my book. i will go never like the move , regardless of osborn, etc....it was about money, nothing eles
accordingly they wont base the divisions by east-west, but more on rivalry based. We probably will play PSU, Iowa, and Wisconsin every year, and some analyts think we'll share a cross over game with Michigan every year. Add to that that we will play OSU probably alot in the championship game, we have anything but a weak schedule.
The Big 10 just got better than the Big 12, besides we won't be in the weak side of an unbalanced division like we were in the Big 12.
Hey corncraze, glad to see you finally come around on the Big Ten. I remember we debated the pros/cons in a couple threads a month or so ago.
Dr. Tom won me over haha... that and I really saw the powers of Texas during that whole b12 melodrama.
I look ridiculous now dnt I? But I did say we should only make the move if it was absolutely necessary, I now realize that it was.
Besides might as well put a positive spin on the situation and accept it now that the move has happened
Think I desrve one of these though

Good work Dob, keep it up

Well done my friends, well done

Nebraska had three rivalries. Missouri, Oklahoma, and Colorado. Now our rivalries could be Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Did anyone ever find out if we had a previous rivalry with Minnesota before?
Ur forgetting Penn St
-
NU and Iowa are already rivals. Michigan could be a good rival for the huskers too
WHAT? uhhh not yet my friend, there is no historical background that says so

I'll tell u what, this kid might want to come in wearing a horse shoe around his neck. Having to replace Henery and being the 13th commit, lets hope this isn't an ominous sign!
