Rivals treaser up. Anyone know?
-
Sounds like we got another Manning v leaf controversy. Manning was known 4 his already developed talent while leaf was Mr. Potential. We all know who won that battle Haha.
-
How many Florida prospects were going after this year? Now I know its early but it seems that every athlete that headlines HI is some kid from Florida (usually a defensive player) that is considering the huskers and probably going to use one of his officials with us. Doesn't our # of Florida targets seem abnormaly high this year?
-
Yes? No? Y?

Iv heard Utah and TCU would be our top targets, and BYU and Boise St. also as possiblities. Thoughts?
Personally I hope that we bring in two southern schools so that both Oklahoma schools move to the North and we can play OU every year again haha
-
Oklahoma
Oklahoma (yes ik ou has Texas, but who do we have? No equal competitor that sees us as their top rival: ou-ut, mu-ku, I guess that leaves ksu and cu
And shoulda had the option of Oklahoma but I picked Iowa
Who was dumb enough to choose Colorado as our biggest historical rival?!

OK since we might need to no now, how on earth do u pronounce owas name?!
-
I agree we're just one difference maker away from greatness.
An OC.
First thing I thought but you could add WR coach to go along with a Offensive line coach.
hold on here on Cotton, hes inheriting the few cali commits that stayed after his firing and those who werent Jucos. Cotton is bringing in some big prospects like Arod and Tyler Moore for next few years
-
They cannot apply for the hardship until after the bowl game. There is little doubt that he will get the extra year.
Are we talking about a medical redshirt cause u must have only played in 25% of seasons games to even qualify for that, didn't Thenarse play more than that?
-
So on rivals theres some new info on Lavonte David and supposedly we are now going after a Texas target, anyone have any info on either
-
I hear a lot of talk about how UT "controls the conference,", we should bolt to the Rust Belt League, assert ourselves, yada yada.
So let's say we "assert ourselves" with the Big 12 and tell them who's boss. What are we demanding out of them?
- To take that second off of the clock that was rightfully put back on? To jerk Kunalic's scholly for the out of bounds kick?
- To not call Terrence Nunn's fumble against Texas a fumble?
- To not call Dan Alexander's endzone fumble against Texas a fumble?
- To disqualify James Brown from the Big 12 Championship to prevent him from running over our arses?
- To not have the Big 12 Championship in the state of Texas any more? (Personally I really enjoyed it)
I guess I'm lost. What are our demands? Or are we just sore losers and want to run to some easier gig? Are we getting short-changed from the conference in some material way that I am unaware of?
OK, I get that we lost the annual OU rivalry game. But what else?
We sound like a jealous bunch of wusses. Cry babies. Sore losers. I hope the players and coaches don't act like this. We'll get our asses handed to us on a platter in Diego.
Agreed Pal, that 1 second whinning is ridiculous, it was the right get over it

I know that Woodson won the award but he got it also for his return game and his play a WR.
So I was wondering does Suh have the most votes for a defender in Heisman history, if someone could make a list of top 5 for full time defenders finishings that would be nice.
And don't bring up the one play Suh played as a FB that doesn't count to considered a multiple position player
-
so would Bell be a slot man then?
Good highlights but ya really dont get to see his hands much, that being said he is 6'2, so he does have height, no Curtis Carter speed though
-
How many years of eligibility do both have? 2 or 3

So Im gona piss some fans off here but
Im sick of the constant attacks on Watson,
First of all do we remember how it was our offense last year that carried us?
second do we remember how Saban (yes the coach who managed to take the Crimson tide back to the promise land in just 3 years) went directly after Watson for his offensive coordinator and offered double his salary.
third, Tom Osborne recommended to Pelini to keep only Watson and Gilmore from the Callahan coaching staff
fourth, Osborne and Pelini have both been nothing but supportive and encouraging of Watson
and fifth he can recruit (and if we do get rid of him there goes Gabbert, and maybe our hopes for Andrew Green next year)
Our two biggest problems this year were depth at the offensive line and experience and depth at the Quarterback position.
Lee would probably not have been the starter if Witt never transfered, and Green would have recieved a red shirt. Were forgetting how hard it is to start as a freshman, especially for an offense whose play book is about a half a foot thick.
People have forgotten how much depth we have lost at the QB position this year, Witt transfered, Spano was sidelined to ACL problems and that left us with a QB who only had 2 pass attempts all of last season, a QB fresh outa highschool, and LB converted to QB because we were so lacking in depth and he played the position in highschool.
Throw on top of that a battered offensive line (Burkes was a huge loss) of Callahan's last and lowly rated recruits, who give our QBs little protection, and you have a major problem.
People seem to be forgetting how our offensive line has been the root of most of our offensive failure. Helu has been battered from the process (and also probably because we over rode him), Lee (who can't make decent decisions to begin with) has no time, and our backs have no holes. We are such a one dimensional offense it ridiculous!
But Cotton is already bringing in the big boys, we have Arod coming this next year and Moore the year after that
So don't do for Watson's throat just yet, give him another year or 2 before we do anything, this year was a hard deck to play with.
If we continually suck on offense the next few years, the Il change my mind

Austin is one name I know, Wright maybe another option too, but as of right now it has not been the recuiting year we wanted for WRs.
That was suppose to be one of our top priorities remember?
We lost Terry, now Carter, and we have no chance for Lucas, Sasser, or Reese. I must say Im disappointed.
Im glad we got Enunwa, though I think he could be a very underated prospect, and Evans could be a WR too, but common were losing everyone to Kansas and Missouri?
If only Callahan would have not blown off Maclin (from what Ive heard he was very serious into Nebraska but Callie ignored him) Mizzouri wouldnt be having so much success with WRs.
Anyone know any other names we have a shot for?
Or do we just look forward to next year?
-
honestly I could see Arod starting right away as LT, didn;t we do that with Burkes before his problems?
and from what Ive heard about wat Qvale has been doing, I would be surprised to see him start either.
-
can anyone answer these qs for me?
Latest on two four-star commits and visits...?
Ekeler, Watson watching four-star LB target...?
whose the top LB who spoke about us on sunday?
-
This is just ridiculous!
Its the Big 12 championship, of course thier gona review the last play of the game if it descides who wins!
If that was us driving down the field, we would have wanted a review too, it would have been Pelini asking the refs for a review.
I hated losing just as much as every other Husker fan, but we beat ourselves. From the no offense, to not scoring a TD in the red zone, to the out of bounds kick, to the horse collar, we beat ourselves, and Texas won fair and square.
Despite how much our defense dominated, we had no offense and thats why we lost.
No game is ever been decided by one play, and its wrong to complain about that one play (especially when it was the right call).
U did see the replay didn't u? Sadly there was one second left.
Lets just accept this for the good game it was, and plan for revenge at home next year;)

link please

I dont think they really do officials for that do they? I think that some kids from that area might show up but I dont think they do officials for away games even if it is a neutral site, but I could be wrong.
Thats what I always thought, but last night during the Tech/Baylor game. They said that Baylor had 100 recruits there. However, they did not say they were official recruits.
Ya I knew they were official visits but on rivals it said something about some top prospects coming to visit

this is on rivals
anyone know?

So we have abot 4-5 spots left for this years class and I was just wondering which spots we still need to fill
this is what I see
1. another WR, we only have two commits so far and at the begging of the year this was one of our top priorities
problem is I don't know to many WRs still considering us besides Austin Hill (who I hope we really get)
2.Another DB, we do have three this year and had 6 last, but we lose alot after this season (mainly at Safety)
I would really like Corey Cooper to fill this position, one heck of a safety in him, and our chances are quite strong as it sounds like its down to us, Illi (but if Zook is fired their out of the running), Notre Dame (but once Weis gets fired their out of the running), and Arizona.
3. OWA
even though we have 6 DL commits already, this is just one u can't pass up
4. another OL commit
thoughts?
Suh a Ram???
in Husker Football
Posted
OK so I think that Bradford has an incredible amount of potential. He has all of the right tools and is incredibly smart, just look at his wonderlific test score, but with that being said he is injury prone and not to mobile outside the pocket. If the rams sould draft bradford, the would make a grave mistake. Now I understand that the rams franchise is in a desperate situation and that they need that public figure to rally their fanbase around but with the fact that the rams have absolutely no oline and that their only offense threat is a brittle hb in stephen jackson, drafting an injury prone qb as the first pick and investing over 50 million bucks in the guy is far from smart.
The way I look at is they could draft the sure deal in suh at #1 and not potentially ruin the franchise (much like the alex smikth in san fran or smith in cinci etc.) And then grab their franchise qb in the 2nd round in colt mccoy. Colt may not have brafords strength but he is by far more mobile within the pocket (a very important quality for a qb who has no offensive line) , more accurate, and CHEAPER! Less risk and pressure on the franchise.
