  1. It's not like he decommitted for no reason. His main recruiter and position coach left the school and he had to re-evaluate the situation. I think that's perfectly acceptable when you're making a decision about where to live the next 4-5 years of your life and the decision will also have a huge impact on the rest of your life as a whole.

He's not one of those who has bounced around, committing to school after school simply for the attention.

  2. Maybe we got some more walk-on gold like we got from Long and Choi last year that we haven't heard about yet! Anybody got any names possibly being hyped?

Sounds like Justin Jackson is in the mix at center, along with Pelini and Pensick.

  3. Why does Nexus have to be present for a commit to get a Nebraska Commit tag?

    Serious question.

He has mod powers and spends the most time in the recruiting section out of all the mods.

If the OP comes around, he can change it too.

Or any of the other mods for that matter.

Sorry guys forgot I was the OP....first and only time I made a recruiting thread. Changed it!

Well you're 1/1, get to making more threads! ;)

  4. Speaking of stadium renovations:

I don't know about you guys but 14th in the nation is pretty painful. We also haven't upgraded our screen since 2004. If we want to become #1 we need to beat out Texas's Godzillatron. The screen can be placed in the South side of memorial:

We don't always have to be #1 in stuff as meaningless as video boards. We have to do what makes sense for us.

  5. This guy could be the best prospect to come out of the state in recent memory. He will definitely be offered and if he doesn't accept too quickly, I bet he cracks rivals top 100. He reminds me a lot of Von Miller.

    Maybe since Baker Steinkuhler.

  6. When comparing O'Hanlon to Austin Cassidy you have to look at who they had around them rather than just their individual performance since many times safety play is so dependent on everyone else doing their jobs.

O'Hanlon had Suh and Crick on the line and Gomes/Hagg/Dennard/Prince in the secondary with him. The difference in the amount of freedom he had to make plays compared to Cassidy with a rather weak supporting cast this year is insane.

  7. Rich Rod has been successful with those QBs, but Arizona at best is going to be 3rd place in the South Division. Rich Rod has a lot of ground to make up.

We were 3rd in the Legends division this year. Just saying.

  8. Oh you know, do this, do that, go into this field, be this, blah, blah, blah. I love her, but parents aren't always right. They want to help but sometimes you just have to go with your own gut and heart. Hey, if Jordan himself has a better feeling about ND, then so be it, but the way parents try to basically convince their own kids what's better just kills me. It's not about you parents, it's not about how much easier it would be to see your kid! It's the kid's choice, let him make the choice and what feels best for HIM, not for you. Parents get WAAAYYYYY too involved with recruiting!

While this is sometimes true, I don't think she's wrong at all to encourage him to at least visit a school. There's no harm in that as far as she's concerned, and she's right, although it sucks to see as Nebraska fans.

  9. Never judge a player solely on his stars. Some of our best players recently have been 3-star recruits.

    2007

    Prince Amukamara

    Jared Crick

    Eric Hagg

    Roy Helu

    2008

    Alfonzo Dennard

    Ricky Henry

    Cameron Meredith

    Kyler Reed

    2009

    Dejon Gomes

    Brandon Kinnie

    Taylor Martinez

    2010

    Kenny Bell

(more to come I'm sure, he's just the only one who's had the biggest impact thus far)

  10. Depends on the league you're in. In mine, they're THE metric. Wins count for ten points. That's a significant chunk of change.

I meant in general, but they're also a terrible metric to use in fantasy baseball. It's far too dependent on actions that the pitcher can do nothing to effect.
