  1. So you're saying this whole season, running the ball so much, having Martinez at QB, and calling mostly running plays, is all a big ploy to get AG?

    You sir, are correct!

He's saying that it'll probably help to have that stat in your arsenal to pull out when recruiting a blue chip RB, not that we're only doing it to get AG.

  2. Are you saying you do? If so, why?

No, I have no problem with them doing that, or saying they're donating a portion to charity, or anything else. It just seems like they're still profiting off the sacrifices/losses of others in that case, even if they don't acknowledge it via a donation, so I don't understand how that's any better than what they're doing.

To me, however they choose to do this promotion would be fine with me - that's what capitalism is all about.

  3. Think about what you're asking there. Why would anyone rip them for that? That's the point of capitalism.

They changed the equation when they tried to boost sales by stating that proceeds would go to the troops, which is the only reason we're talking about this.

So if they sell patriotic themed stuff right around 9/11, obviously to boost sales due to the anniversary of 9/11, but don't state that as the reason and don't say they're going to donate to charity you don't have a problem with it?

  4. You're missing the point. No, they don't have to donate anything. They also don't have to market their hats as a means of donating to the troops. If they really wanted to be generous they could just sell the hats and not tell anyone they're making a donation at all.

Would you not then assume that they were keeping it all for themselves and rip them for that?

  5. Are your tickets still available? If so, do you have the section, row and seat #'s handy? How much?

    tstiles@fbfs.com

All student tickets are general admission

  6. I think athletes today are better than they've ever been, just due to the amount of time spent playing the game growing up and the way science has advanced and increased the efficiency of workouts and whatnot.

I don't think the record book is a good way to prove this, one way or another, simply because all athletes have improved across the board, so they're up against stiffer competition in addition to being better themselves.

Obviously, there are going to be exceptions to this - guy's in past generations who were just freaks, but for the most part I think athletes today would stomp most teams of yesteryears.

  7. I wouldn't want a coach that ever thinks his team plays a perfect game, and I don't know anyone who would.

There's always something you can improve on, and obviously Bo saw a lot of things he didn't like tonight. That's fine by me, I'd rather have it this way than have the team getting overconfident and complacent.

  8. I just dont see why everyone is picking the sooners :wtf I dont think they will be any better then last year really thoe. I guess everyone must have missed their sun bowl game :spooners they barely beat stanford.

Stanford was a very talented team last year.

  9. I hate how this kid likes the limelight so much I really want him to commit soon =(

Just because he's taking his time in making his decision doesn't mean he "enjoys the limelight so much".

I'd rather have him take all 4 visits and be sure when he does commit than to commit now and flip flop.

  10. side note: i hate it when people keep replying on top of replies making the page 6 miles long...and look what im doing... :facepalm:chuckleshuffle

Agreed. People need to learn to delete the quotes other than the one they're directly responding to.

  11. I've been a HUGE fan of Crick every since he committed to us as a recruit. But I am skeptical he can do as well as last year without Suh taking on the doubleteams.

    Directly from the article:

If you really want to raise their ire, suggest that Crick was the sole beneficiary of teams double-teaming Suh. Heck, even Crick admits, to some extent, he benefited from it. Made teams pay for it. Abused Baylor’s offensive line for a NU-record five sacks because of it.

Bo scoffed: “That isn’t the way football works.”

Carl challenged: “Suh’s getting double-teamed? Show me that on film…that wasn’t happening.”

Continued Bo: “You can also say that Suh benefited playing next to Crick. It’s two-way street. It’s a team game. That’s the reality of it.”

  12. "Asked about his players using Twitter, Bo said, "If people have time to follow Twittering and tweeting, they need to get a job.""

Seems a little hypocritical considering Bo has a twitter account.

Anyone can make a fake twitter account. Michaeljacksondancesfromthegrave04???? Are we really to assume the tweets are from MJ????

No, but I am ready to accept the fact that Bo has a verified twitter account.
