This remark is outragous as I recall that he was charged and perhaps 'convicted' though I don't remember that happening, of an assault for grabbing a woman in a bar, not rape! The unwanted grabbing of her crotch as I recall was the 'assault'. A hell of a long way from 'rape'. Just my opinion and I believe that it is terribly unfair for him to be remembered as a rapist when he is not, as far as I can recall. Let's don't spread false memories about a great Husker player around. We have enough players who have really had serious criminal law problems in the past. We don't need to make up more!

A Title IX suit was filed, settled 2 years later with the school paying her $50,000, and Peter/Redmond settling for an undisclosed amount of money out of court. Tom Osborne also apologized to Redding later on, reconciled, and has had her speak to past football teams about violence against women.

He wasn't convicted of rape by a jury, but his hands are obviously very very far from clean.

    Phrasing!!!!!

  2. Too me it's about whether or not Cross will be given the opportunity. We know and we have seen how he can contribute but we still see him out in situations that are not suited to his style. The management of the running backs has been baffling to me. That backfield with him and Jano is what this team should have been from the get go.

I saw what looked like a certain player jogging off the field twice before the play was even over. I certainly agree that there seems to be a lack of give a f&%$!

    Which player?

    defense

Are you saying it's the whole D or a player on the D?

Name the name. I'm really tired of the innuendo and broad accusations that cast aspersions on an entire team.

If you think one guy is lacking, call that guy out. Or don't say anything at all.

What i saw was a single player on D. I'm not going to call him out on a message board because I don't agree with that. If he wasn't giving his all he knows it. If he was shame on me.

  4. Aunt receives zero damages from suit over nephew's wrist-breaking hug

The aunt, who was seeking $127,000 in damages, told the court that she had found it “difficult to hold my hors d’oeuvre plate” at a recent party.

The jury members reportedly took just 25 minutes to come to their decision, according to the New York Daily News.

She should have to pay all lawyers, judges, jurors and anyone else involved for their time, for wasting everyone's time. Maybe that would put an end to stupid lawsuits.

  5. I thought Banker was supposed to bring a pin your ears back and attack defense? I'm not seeing that. Is he being conservative because of all the injuries? The defense still seems slow, not in the speed sense but in reaction. The run defense has been pretty good. They gave up a few big ones today but not bad. In the pass game I'm wondering why they don't try to rush more(are they and I'm too dense to see it) if they are going to give up big passes with everyone in coverage what would it hurt to send someone after the quarterback. If I was an o coordinator I'd be running slants constantly as sometimes the dbs are 6 yards of the receiver. The defense has improved as this season has gone on though. The offense hasn't helped them much the last couple games.

2008 Dabo Swinney and Bo Pelini started their tenures. Bo beat Dabo in the Gator Bowl.

2015 Bo is coaching friggin YSU, Dabo beat #6 Notre Dame, and we lost to Illinois. Why do I feel like we have accomplished nothing?

    We took a step back.

Harvey doesn't have to deal with meany face anymore.

Isn't Harvey stepping down as chancellor?

For those of you more knowledgeable than I what can the coaches do to improve the passing D? I know an elite pass rusher would be huge and a return of the injured backers also. But what kind of schemes could be used to improve the current situation? I don't intend for this to call out certain players or coaches or generally turn into a sh!$show either! What improvements or schemes can help?

Probably the most successful would be to pay $500,000 to coaches who know what to do. Are ordinary fans supposed to tell the highly paid coaches what to do to not be last in the country?

No one is telling the coaches what to do. That is unless jimk is actually Banker looking for advice.:ahhhhhhhh

Honestly, I think this is a great thread. The OP is asking fans to discuss ideas about how the coaches might help the secondary, which will give us all something to look for on game day to compare and see what adjustments the coaches actually try (if any). Also, it points out that is scheme is not DOA, rather that specific adjustments can be made to shore up its weaknesses.

FYI I am in fact not Coach Banker! Do you think I would admit to that with the current state of my ... err.... the Huskers defense.
