  1. I can get behind Whittingham. I just wondered in the Coaching Discussion thread why he wasn't getting mentioned. I've heard people mention that he is Mormon and he is very unlikely to leave Utah. I haven't actually looked it up myself however.
  2. Did others see Stanley Morgans mother said she was told a Sunday presser to announce our new coach. She doesn't say where she got that info but if it's from her son I would like to believe her. I imagine there are some pretty solid leaks within the Memorial stadium.
  3. Ok HuskerTD hours up. Is the announcement still coming?
  4. So you're saying SE parachuted out over Waverly. Well played, Shawn. Well played indeed. Yeah, he wanted to show JT Shakers. <begins creasing $1 bills length wise> Well the same plane left this morning for Monterrey CA. About 30 miles from where Frost will be later today. They must be doing some landscaping in California as well.
  5. Sorry for posting so late. I stayed out and drank a bit too much. My buddy said there was no one there tonight. None of the usual guys he talks with were there. I will see you all in the morning, kind of, if I can pull that off.
  6. I talked to my friend and he said he won't be done working until 1030 and he would let me know what he hears. I'm out with some friends right now and i just want to go home and read the 12 pages i missed. Holy shot! That's kind of sad hug. Does that mean i have a problem.
  7. Hey guys. I talked to said friend on the phone who witnessed JT the other night. The story is 100% believable. It's funny but he isn't even working where I originally thought he was still working. So the likely reason that no one took any pictures is because it was a very upscale environment. My friend has been talking to many of the clientele and they are all big money people. He says they have all been telling him JT with SF coming in as OC. My friend doesn't get on message boards so he had to ask me what the rumors have been. And the best thing is that he confirmed the flights you are talking about above without even knowing it. He told me how JT arrived there in the first place and that the same form of transportation was sent to Oregon as well and one other place I can't remember now. He doesn't know, I don't know but at this point I will be very suprised if this doesn't go down. There is still a possibility that JT was just consulting but why this late in the game? Sorry had to type this up fast. Got to go into work now. Be off in 5 hrs. Buddy told me he will let me know what he hears tonight.
  8. This reminds me a lot of 2007. The majority was calling for BO BO BO. I really didn't see it happening mostly because I didn't think that TO would hire someone with a reputation like BO's. There were a bunch of names being thrown around and the one that I thought it would end up being was Turner because it lined up with what TO would look for. But all the rumors and all the smoke kept pointing to BO even though it didn't seem like it really would happen. Then lo and behold it was BO. I'm holding out hope for Tressel/Frost. If it's not then I will get over it but right now there is too much smoke to believe there is no fire.
  9. My first reaction to hearing about that was the same but I've come around a little bit. At first I thought JT and SFs viisons were completely different and they have no real connection but that isn't true. Seeing Frosts statement about wanting to someday incorporate power football into what they are currently running at Oregon makes me think his vision might be attractive to JT. Also JT is close to TO and both have been a big part of FCA and I'm sure that TO has spoken highly of SF who is himself a big contributor to FCA. As a matter of fact I'm guessing they know each other through FCA. Not to mention SF is regarded as one of the most talented up and coming coaches in the country. I don't doubt that SF would be an attractive option for OC for any strong Christian man who's football philosophy includes having a very physical running game.
  10. I have a personal text from THE VEST himself! Haha. That took longer than I thought it would anyway.
  11. Well this establishment is a pretty quiet place and usually not very busy but very classy and on the expensive side. He's not saying a bar in the text message, he's saying my bar as in a place that is more private but has it's own bar and kitchen.
  12. Uhm can anyone see the image. It pasted fine but when I posted it just now says posted image.
  13. Well this is the best I could do. I had to try a bunch of different things. When I would crop on my phone (to remove my friends name and number) it kept converting it to a file type that would not open on my computer. I'm not the most tech savy guy in the world.
  14. Trying to post it but I can't seem to get the image off my phone to the mobile HB site. I'll just download it to my computer.
  15. Please do bother. We appreciate the information. Speaking for myself, I am just having some fun with this. I do believe the JT sightings, I just think it would be funny if the whole JT frenzy was due to people spotting some old guy that looks a lot like him and happened to be wearing a sweater vest but who probably thinks football is "brutish" and sophomoric, and instead fancies himself as a connoisseur of fine wines and string quartets. You have to admit that would be hilarious. That would actually be pretty damned funny.
  16. I know where the location is. I didn't want to share that because it wouldn't be difficult for the institution that he works for to figure out who might have spread personal information about one of their clients. Such as location. He didn't mention anything about not posting it one way or another but I don't know how careful you need to be about something like that. I certainly don't want to get him in trouble. And what does it matter? If I told you the location would you be more likely to believe it? I'm guessing no. People will just use it to fuel their sarcastic jabs.
  17. I have been coming to HB for years and have gotten a lot of great info from the posters on here, so when a friend of mine, who has no reason to lie to me texted me some info that might be of interest, I thought it would do the right thing and pass it along. I'm not exactly an attention seeker on this board and prefer to use it to find out what's going on. I don't have that much to contribute so when something like this is passed along to me I feel like I should pull my weight a little as well. Next time I won't bother.
  18. How did this friend get into this discreet location? He works there, in a capacity where he definitely cannot pull out his phone and try to grab a picture or I would have asked him to.
  19. That's something I would definitely have fun doing just to screw with people. I would gain a new level of respect for HP if that were the case.
  20. You can add another Jim Tressel sighting. A good friend texted me about an hour ago and said that JT and Harvey Pearlman were then sitting down together at a discreet location downtown and chatting. I just don't get it. If JT is in fact being hired, why would they not go out of their way to make sure they meet somewhere in which he cannot be seen. And if he is just consulting why not come out and publicly acknowledge that JT is indeed in town but only here in a advisory fashion.
  21. I may be giving too much credit to the vocal minority there but I remember reading some buckeye message boards during that time and there was a lot of grumbling. Go figure. Things are about the same everywhere I guess huh? Maybe it reached its peak after the 2005 season and subsided again after the national championship appearances. I know the unrest was building there for a while however. I do remember distinctly how unhappy fans were with JT's conservative play calling and offensive scheme in general. There were a lot of people saying that they would never get over the hump with the offense that was being run.
  22. This is a little after the fact but I just discovered this thread. Anyone who wants to get some good insight into Jim Harbaugh should read this article. He is a little over the top. Almost obsessed to the point of detriment I think, but I am a Niners fan and I will be sad to see him go. That being said I'm not sure that he is a good fit for the Huskers. As a matter of fact I think he has a lot of Bo like tendancies. He is always right and very stubborn from what I gather. Here's the link. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11625088/san-francisco-49ers-head-coach-jim-harbaugh-thrives-chaos-difficulty
  23. I think certain infractions are worthy of a second chance. Plus coaches can learn from past jobs on how to do things different. While it is possible, the sweater vest look usually seems to accompany a "I have done things this way for 40 years and I'm not going to change now" kind of attitude.
  24. I'm not trying to be argumentative but I seriously want to know why everyone is so gung ho about a Jim Tressel hire? Go ask buckeye fans what they remember about him. What I remember is conservative football to the point of madness. I specifically remember the seat kind of getting warm in Columbus before the whole Tatoo-gate thing because his teams were failing in the big games time after time. Granted I would take the success that he had while he was there in a heartbeat, but he was at the hands-down dominant program in the 4th largest recruiting hotbed in the country. One could argue that his teams, much like Mack Browns Texas teams, underperformed year after year. That's not even mentioning the lack of integrity he showed when he hid knowledge of the tatoos for equipment thing going on with the players. In addition, what makes people think such a conservative football coach, who always ran a ball control type offense, would hire an O coordinator like Frost who would bring in an up tempo style offense. I just don't see it.
