  1. Thanks. I saw something alluding to him being on the juco freshman all-American team but not sure if that was last year or this year?
  2. Looks like Lubick was the lead recruiter for Colson Yankoff. I wonder if we would try to swing him if Lubick is indeed our OC.
  3. Just another nugget to add to the rest of the speculation. A friend of mine who is a part owner of a local tech startup recently worked with one of UNL's men's teams. They are trying to expand quickly and one of their recent negotiations has been with UCF due to a fellow co-owners connections there. They were in talks with the UCF athletic department for services specifically for football operations until last week. The project has been put on hold because UCF is expecting a coaching staff change. One of his connections there revealed that they are aware that the Frosts are already looking for homes in Lincoln.
  4. I have been thinking the same thing but reading this today gives me hope. In fact, Frost, who at the time of the interview was an assistant coach at Oregon, expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of one day coaching at Nebraska. “Absolutely. It’s the No. 1 goal. Sometimes your goals come true and sometimes not. But there’s no other place I’d …” He paused, seemingly not wanting his words to be seen as dismissive of his current job and employer. Then he continued. “I guess I’d just say, a big part of my heart is in Nebraska, and I’d love to coach there someday.” OWH Link
  5. In the 15 years or so I have been following our recruiting I can only remember us landing one kid with a sub 4 sec shuttle time. Can't remember who it was. Now we have two in one class.
  6. No one else is going to mention that huskinator said "struggled with muffs for a while"?
  7. Right on Mavric. We consistently hear time and time again how important heritage and a community are to polynesian players. I really think that Phillips being here, in additon to the TE GA, might open a Polynesian pipeline but I think we are going to have to land 3 or 4 of those guys in the same class so they can connect together during the recruiting process. Once we have a group of Polynesian kids here I think we will win in situations like this. Oh well, great luck to Paulo.
  8. F#%$ Beilema. Where's that picture someone posted of him next to the dude from Beavis and Butthead? We need that in here. That is Butthead's dad btw.
  9. F#%$ Beilema. Where's that picture someone posted of him next to the dude from Beavis and Butthead? We need that in here. Haha. Laughed so hard the first time i saw that. It's too perfect. That would make an epic sign at Gameday btw. One of us has to do it.
  10. I think it is mostly with regards to the fact that for (what seems like) ever, the staff has always had 2 black guys on it. Brown and Gill, Jordan and Gilmore, Sanders and Brown, Brown and Joseph, Brown and Warren. How having 3 this year compares to the rest of the country, I really have no idea and I doubt that Foreman does either. Don't forget Blake. Or are we trying not to remind the ncaa so we don't get slapped with sanctions.Who is this Blake you speak of? Don't recall ever having a Blake as a coach Oh that's right, I confused us with Oklahoma for a second. Nothing to see here.

  12. Start using your head. That's that lump 3 feet above your ass! Anyone ever tell you you look like a penis with a little hat on? Too late, beat you to it
  13. Hope we do offer. Not the fastest but looks great in every other regard. He's got some impressive shake and bake for a big guy. Excellent vision. Gets north south in a hurry. Runs with low pad level and brings the hurt when he runs in traffic. Looks great catching the ball out of the backfield. He actually reminds me of LeVeon Bell. I was never a big Bell fan early in his career a Michigan St. but he has made a believer out of me. I would love for us to have a physical run game like that.
  14. Anyone every tell you you look like a penis with a little hat on?
  15. I tend to think that a kid who has a lot of stability and love and nurchuring in the home can handle a little bit of yelling. If a kid gets yelled at home when he knows he has purposefully done wrong and his parents still love and support him it can be effective. If a kid is constantly getting yelled at and never feels loved or accepted or encouraged than he just associates the yelling with feelings of mistrust. I think this is partly the reason that so many kids don't respond to yelling in this day and age. I think its a combination of very little time spent with parents due to economic realities and absentee parents.
  16. Why does everyone assume this is some sick perverted thing that he did. Like others have said sometimes h.s. and college age guys just do some dumb $hit. When I was in college one of the kids in a different fraternity house took the house Greek year book picture with his balls hanging out. It was really dumb and immature.... and completely f'ing hilarious. The guy became a legend and every guy who saw that picture laughed his ass off. Maybe Moss just thought it would be funny as $hit to go up and purchase something with his junk hanging out. For #uck sake he didn't rape a baby.
  17. Well maybe thhis coach will offer thhe Dline talent that we let go to othher D1 programs in the future. Two for sure are getting meaningful snaps or are starting. Thhat seems a little baffling to me. I've got to agree with you there, but we still need to bring in the difference makers that we just don't have around here in large supply. Most of them are in the south and it is very hard to lure those guys away. We have been fortunate having Collins, VV and the twins (fingers crossed) in our 500 mile radius the last few years but those guys aren't growing on trees around here. Not to mention we don't own the 500 mile radius like we once did and guys like Phillips and Bazata aren't consistently coming up in the HS ranks here either.
  18. Not really what I would call a rock solid source but apparently the rumors are national. http://cincyontheprowl.com/2014/12/31/nebraska-rumored-interested-cincinnati-dc-hank-hughes/ I would also be a little disappointed if we infact do hire Hughes for D-line. His coaching track record more than speaks for itself, but it will tell me that Riley just doesn't quite understand the challenges of recruiting stud D lineman to Nebraska. To me this has been the biggest factor in holding us back for many years on D and we need an excellent recruiter at this spot. We finally have stud upperclassmen Dlineman in our lineup the next few years but we have to push even harder and be as deep as every other top tier program on the D-line. We will only go as far as our horses on the D-line will take us IMO. His bio doesn't mention any recruiting prowess like other bios on the cincinatti football web page do.
  19. I really like Coach Cav's personality as well. Like others have said he seems like he will fit right in in Nebraska. In one of the videos of him on Youtube the reporter asks him about turning down the USC job in 2013 so that is in addition to Alabama asking him if he had any interest. So yeah I'd say he's well thought of. I'm starting to get the feeling that the assistants that Riley has kept in place around him are much like the staff that TO had in place. It seems like a bunch of guys who are just very loyal to Coach Riley and don't have dreams of being head coaches some day but just love coaching the positions they've always coached but are really good at what they do. Like TO's staff there is something to be said for that kind of continuity. I believe it was integral to us winning 3 of 4 during TO's last years. And nobody would have called those guys like Darlington and McBride and Tenopir and Solich hot coaching names for head coaching positions. Most of them didn't hit there stride until the last 10 or 15 years. I really feel like we are getting pretty lucky bringing in this much coaching experience and continuity into our program. With the new level of talent these guys will have at their disposal and the walk-on program I could just see this thing explode.
  20. There were literally like 10 candidates I could get behind. Mike Riley is not one of them.
  21. I can get behind Whittingham. I just wondered in the Coaching Discussion thread why he wasn't getting mentioned. I've heard people mention that he is Mormon and he is very unlikely to leave Utah. I haven't actually looked it up myself however. I think given another couple years in the Pac12 he would have them playing at a pretty high level. One thing for sure, if he came here we could tap into that Polynesian pipeline once again.
