Let's not loose track of where we are at right now.
We are still dealing with the after affects of going to war against a country that hadn't attacked us and the government lied to us on why we needed to attack them. 4,486 troops have died. On top of that, we have had 2,345 troops die in Afghanistan. over 1,000,000 troops have been wounded in both conflicts. (all those numbers are still growing)
AND.....we are actually sitting here with a psychotic idiot that got out of military service for bogus reasons (and a lot of money) threatening to go in and "destroy" a country that hasn't attacked anyone.
I can't express how disgusted I am right now with all of this.
This is a misunderstood statistic. 1,000,000 troops have not been wounded. That is the number of troops that served in either Iraq and Afghanistan that have been treated by the VA. You don't have to be wounded to be treated by the VA. If you got hemorrhoids while you were in Iraq because you ate too much steak at the DFAC at whatever base you were at and got that in your service medical record you could seek treatment for the same thing after you are discharged. The vast majority of people being treated at the VA have never seen direct action and were not wounded by the enemy. I'm not taking away from anyone's service, I'm just stating a fact.
Wounded and injury/illness/whatever are not the same thing.

Where did you ski there? Zermatt is on my list
Zermatt. There are several mountains to ski there. It was amazing. I'd like to go back in the Summer.

Switzerland is gorgeous. Went on a big ski trip there. I ski fairly often and can hold my own but I felt like an amateur my first day in the Alps.

Jared is a very interesting and sad character. He cracks me up.

I'm writing in Sam Keller.

Hey, you made it out of Gage county though!
-
I find it funny how a poster with the screen name of Gage County has their location as Washtenaw County. Maybe it's because I grew up in Gage County.
I didn't have anything to add to this thread besides that. Can't wait to travel back to Boulder next year. Lovely city. The people? Meh.

Looks like the 5k will be in July. It's a fun little race. I've run in it the past couple years.

Nebraska v. Iowa in Lincoln a few years back. 4th and 1 from the 19 in the 4th quarter. We throw to the end zone and turn over on downs when there was NOT A CHANCE IN HELL ANDY JANOVICH COULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN US ONE YARD AT THAT PARTICULAR MOMENT. We had some momentum and getting that first down and a possible touchdown in the plays following could have very well changed the outcome.

Sooners not Beavers
Yes, I understand that. Mike Riley hired him here at NU and Lincoln Riley hired him at OU.

Butler would make a good Ramirez. But a fantastic Ramirez would be Ken Watanabe.
He has looked good with a samurai sword before.

Yes.

Butler didn't even come to mind but he would be a good one. He did sucha good job with "THIS IS SPARTA!" just think of what he could do with "There can be only one!"
Perhaps Christopher Lambert could play Ramirez?

Highlander was a great movie for the 1980s, but it's almost unwatchable today. The sound is awful, the pace dull, the acting & effects are bad.
I'm not typically one that enjoys remaking old movies, but that's one that definitely needs to be updated.
Who do you think would play a good Connor MacLeod?

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Unpopular Opinion: Americans spend way too much of their time worrying about cleanliness.
It's not going to kill you if you don't wash your hands after you potty. That antibacterial goop you see everywhere isn't really helping. Your body's immune system needs to be challenged. If you get hurt, a lot of times you're going to be OK, even without a band-aid.
Unless you're taking an immunomodulater like I have to. But I'm an exception to that I suppose. I wash my hands a lot because my immune system is basically s#!t now. Autoimmune diseases suck, y'all.

I know he wouldn't be directly involved but perhaps he has some really good recruiting connections. Perhaps this is just a strange hire. Perhaps it's a great hire. Time will tell.

Saw his Twitter post. He said he is joining the Army. If he gets his degree, he'll go in as an officer. Most definitely a team player. Someone mentioned that he didn't play QB because of his injuries. That's definitely not true because he moved to WR. Always felt like he had the potential to be a scrappy QB. Regardless, we need more guys with his attitude and perspective.
He's actually enlisting.

He has. He leaves in May.

Well deserved in my opinion. Lets hope he wins more awards like this during his time at Nebraska.

I will facilitate a bear if it means we start winning more games.

Check out this book sometime and think of how many things in it you love and then you'll know if you're a white Midwesterner or not.

It's usually covered by the same turf that's on the field. They just have it torn up in that picture so they can install new.
