  1. Seems like every day he's on some new watch list or high(er) on the draft board. And now the Heisman talk? We fans have these incredible expectations for him, and for very good reason.

I do worry about it a little because of the hype machine on him is working overtime. I can't see how any human can meet these unusually high expectations.

Can he live up to expectations and hype?

I personally think it will come down to how good the supporting cast is around him.

    What say you all?

I say hurry up 9/5 so we can find out on the feild! :box Ive never before gotten so anxious waiting for a fb season to start. I do think Suh will live up to the hype due to the experience we bring back on the defensive front and the second year under Pelini.

  2. I hope the week goes by fast....I cannot wait for college football to start. I got so desperate I went to a DII game this week!

    17) How did you find HuskerBoard? (referral source)

Searching the web for a place where i could talk to husker fans(very few in this part of the country) and i found this place and love it. GBR!

  4. Being at this game was amazing. The eruption from the fanz was like nothing that ive heard at a husker game(only been to 5). Great win for the team and coach and it helped out momentum into the gator bowlagainst clemson (glad i saw that one too). :nanalama

  5. Just started reading this yesterday. I'm about 100 pages into it and I'm having trouble putting it down. It's tough knowing where this is going, those things are tough to read. But he comes through it - that's the key.

Same here, the day i got it i couldnt stop and eventually finished it the next day. It has been a long time since a book has kept my attention for an extended period. You dont want to put it down because i wanted to see what was going to happen next, which was shocking but im glad to see that he has turned it around.

  6. Whether Bo turns out to be a good head coach of a program like Nebraska or not in the long run, I have to say I can't imagine being happier with who he shows himself to be right now. We may never win ten games again, we may never vie for a national championship again, but I'd rather have that integrity, that ability to "look in the mirror" than win with a guilty conscience.

Here's to Bo, and here's to doing things the right way. :cheers

Couldnt agree with you more. Its must be hard dismissing a player with as much promise as Q had, but in the end it was the right thing to do. The HC is setting the table for how things are going to be run at Nebraska. We support BO!

  7. Anxiously waiting to hear about the young freshmen competing for playing time behind Helu. With Q out of the picture this should surely light a fire under them to get on that field and perfrom infront of the sea of red.

Ill be in Blacksburg-cant wait to see the Huskers after a promising year last year.

    GBR

  8. Its all specualtaion as we wait for coach Pelini to address the situation. I was very anxious to see the one two punch of Helu and Q this year. Hoping for the best...

    edit: F**K!!!

  9. I like going to a large bar that gets it and watching the PPV games. It's almost like being in the stadium.

Man i wish i had these bars to watch the big red machine every saturday. But unfortunatley i live in Connecticut where all i see is Big Ten <_< Big East  and ACC :wtf

    PPV ftw

  10. This is a tuff one. Wherever Paulus went, I assume he intended to start. Otherwise what would be the point of playing college fb for one year just to sit on the bench.

He almost certainly would not have started her. Lee is much more familiar with the offence than Paulus could have ever been.

That being said, I do think Athleticism could sometimes overcome "rust".

Perfect example. Lebron James. I dont know if he has ever played a down of football in his life. But, he is a freak athlete. People all the time speculate how he could be as a tight-end in the NFL. Would Lebron ever even consider playing football? Hell no. But if he did, he could maybe get some playing time.

Players like Antonio Gates, who played both basketball and football, could be successful in both sports.

Athleticism is athleticism, plain and simple.

Lebron played Football in highschool and could have very well played it in college. Even if he started playing now I bet he would have some success because he is 6-9, 250 pounds and runs a 4.4

Can you imagine being maybe a 6' db and having that steaming down the feild at you? :o

  11. I think the players now know what it really means to be inspired on the defensive side of the ball(thanks Bo).

They will prove to the coaches in fall camp and hopefully EARN them before FAU. But the staff knows more than I do, so lets see them earn the blackshirts on the feild.

  12. :)

Yes I realize this is not exactly a Husker Football post but I hope we can get some leaway from the Mods and Admins for this post.

On the " Big Red Lounge" forum we are trying to find at least one Husker Fan from every state in the Union.

Give us a look Husker Nation and make sure you are represented.

    Thanks and GBR to all,

    T_O_B
