Probably should've kept your clothes on!

Only on my arms.  It was interesting to be next to a guy in the know while it was breaking on Saturday morning.  Everything that happened was planned out.  His daughter and mine are on the same sports team and he was frantically trying to deal with responses while trying to watch the games.

Word was Fickell answered Trev's call with "Thanks, not interested".

Now that could be a case against Nebraska.  But, it could be that he was being groomed by Wisconsin after they fired PC.

Me personally, I think that when the ND job came calling to him after Kelley left for LSU, he didn't have the balls for the job and said no.  I don't think he has them for the Nebraska job.  At Wisconsin though...???

I mean, he wasn't going to consider an OSU job ever - IF the opportunity ever came up.  He had one shot and got axed for someone else (UM).  That's a difficult spot to be in.  But ultimately, I think Fickell needs a spot with less lights (including Nebraska).....  Wisconsin sounds like the better fit for him.  And Cincinnati is no longer a Cinderella Darling.  He needs to leave while he has clout.  Just my take on it

Have to be fair, even with NIL Notre Dame is a tough job to be competitive.  David Shaw said as much about Stanford when he stepped down yesterday.

You are correct that Trev went after LF.  Rhule and LF were the two targets.  I don’t believe the LF hire occurred in one day. Rhule’s interview occured 6 weeks ago. Initial offer was declined, but he later came back and said he wanted the job.

  3. I at least admire him for sticking with his buddy.  After his performance last season I was sure he would have been on the list for one of the Non Power 5 HC openings.  He was loyal to his buddy in a prove it year and it may have derailed his career.

I was gonna come on here to say he's leaving cause we're landing Mathis babbyyyyyyyyyy

would suck to see rodgers dip, if it does happen, but lets be real, he's nowhere near the caliber of player Ochaun is

Maybe not, but any great pass rushers best friends are the Defensice Tackles.  If they can’t stop the run they don’t have to throw.

Those are things only some sentimental college football fans say, the ones that don't like the NFL.  You're in the minority however among sports fans overall as the NFL kills in ratings every regular season week. The argument that they don't mean anything is just silly, it matters to get into the playoffs and for seeding.  It's a weak argument.  The NFL playoffs, and literally every other sport on earth's, are better than bowls. Bowl games can be fun TV, but they really don't mean much beyond pride for that schools fans because they don't lead anywhere.  It's a glorified exhibition game.

This is spot on because if it’s an 8 team playoff or a 16 team playoff you for sure want to be in the top spots compared to the bottom.

Meh, Will Levis wasn't all that good at Penn State before this year.  Kentucky figured out how to find mismatches for Wan'dale (not hard to do) and Levis was able to hit a wide open receiver.

It also helped that they had a RB and didn’t have to try and frequently run him between the tackles.

What I like that I don’t think anyone said yet:

the players on our team were willing to go lift, practice, and interact with themselves; along w their coaches and analysts when all the BS lockdown people in their offices were trying to prohibit it.

It might not have turned into more wins (sadly) but it shows that the players trusted their coaches and people to go and play some damn football when the powers that be, idiotically, were shutting them down. Good for N and Frost to just keep things rolling. They should be held up as a model of ingenuity and saying F you to all those ivory tower a$$h@!es who are too old to play. Good for us!

I asked a question about this earlier, what you may see as willing I wonder if the players felt it was required. I also wonder how common is the hiring of an attorney in these situations for a coach.

He uses the term towards his co-host when he’s trying to make a point. To me, it just comes off as immature, belittling and very unbecoming.

I think it’s because Gary’s middle name either starts with F or is Franklin.

Gary does the same to Damon whose middle name starts with an M, but he will call him Damon Maurice Benning.

  9. Even if this gets the charges pled down to probation, wouldn’t he have to serve that probation in CA?

I know there are circumstances where under the Interstate Compact probatation can be moved from one state to another, but the state that put him on probation (CA) would have to decide if the case qualifies and also approve the transfer.  Obviously NE would have to approve the request. If approved they would also have to allow travel outside of NE during his probation.

  10. No excuse for what Khabib and his crew did.  Listening to Khabib’s press conference, he was upset before the fight and it showed during the match.  He felt Connor disrespected him, his religion, and family. That’s Connor’s style and he can typically throw people off their game and plan, but not yesterday.  He got whooped the whole fight

Dana White this is what happens when you try to run WWE promos and the other fighter isn’t in on it. Khabib was serious about hurting Connor.  If he would have been able to choke him out he would’ve.  It didn't seem like he wanted to stop.

Trust in Frost 100%.  I also trust in his staff since this is only their 3 year of working together.  I don't know if his system will ever translate into a Big 10 contender however.  Last night was a good prelude to what might happen more often than not.  We racked up 500 yards on a very good defense overall,  weak secondary, but good overall D.  They won, we only scored 24 points.  Bend but don't break D.

Remember Dr. Tom tried to pass the ball when he first took over, and eventually turned to power run game in order to win.

I was not impressed with their pass rush. Don't know if it was a scheme or players, but they did not get a lot of pressure on  Martinez IMO. Even with all the penalties the Oline pretty much kept him clean.
