Other heads will roll for sure.

O/U on Strong at TU: one month

They will let Strong finish the year. He surrounded himself with ineptitude so no one could step in for him.

Mack Brown is available. I'm at least half-serious, not that it would be a good idea. But there are rumors for Jamail (their mega booster) wanting Brown for the AD job.

Isn't Jamail his attorney? I remember seeing something about when they pushed out Mack.

  2. The only thing is we need to get out there and get it going. The B1G punched a huge ticket today, but tOSU is the real benefactor. Urb is just getting going, and with Michigan getting their splash in Harbaugh things are going to get tight for us. Recruit recruit recruit..

I am happy the SEC is out and that the B1G is the conference that got it done. I don't think this really helps any one but OSU. This win gives OSU street creed and should help thier recruiting.

It obviously will show recruits you can be up north and win a championship. However, the best opportunity in the B1G will be in Columbus.

Maybe the conference gets a couple more prime time slots next year.

  3. Here is a post allegedly from Harrison Phillips' Mom. She responded to Scott on Fb.

Thank you, Scott, for your truthful and wise words.......As the parents of Harrison Phillips, we took our son to every Husker football camp since 8th grade and supported and encouraged him when he came home so excited that he could possibly be a future Husker. At the last camp he attended, the summer before his senior year, the coaching staff put him through a day like he had never experienced at any other camp (and he attended quite a few others), only to see another out of state player offered a scholarship at the end of the day. It was after he was not offered a scholarship after four years of Husker camps and positive and encouraging visits from Husker recruiters that we took our trip to Stanford, where one day after returning home from their camp, he received an offer from Coach Shaw. Coach Pelini's offer came the next evening. It was too late--the Stanford education and the excellent coaching staff at Stanford, the competitive PAC-12 schedule, fantastic campus and faculty, and the beautiful weather had won over Harrison's heart! It would have been wonderful to see our son be a Husker and play 45 minutes from our home, but he made the best decision to play for Stanford. It is exciting to see a former PAC-12 coach come to Nebraska--a new and exciting era has begun at Nebraska. Go Cardinal! Go Huskers!

  4. Regardless to if he made the decision on Bo or if it was boosters, the administration came crawling on their knees for him to help. As terrible of a coach as BC was, the majority of his issues at least related to FB. The divide that exist today could not have even been imagined when BO was named coach 7 years ago.

  5. The co-champ BS hurt them. I would imagine picking OSU was easier to talk through because of the conference championship game win rather than Baylor or TCU splitting votes for the 4 spot.

Assuming they were all as close as the committee would have you believe, the conspiracy theorist in me would say OSU's face base is a little bit bigger than TCU's and Baylor's combined.

  6. I feel like the conference's overall non conference schedule may come back to bit OSU.

-ND beat 2 of 3 B1G opponents and had a close loss to Northwestern (FSU beat ND)

-TCU beat MN pretty good (OSU wins by 7 against MN)

    -MSU lost to Oregon

    -Illinois loss to Washington

I purposely will leave out their VTech loss because of the first start for JT.

A lot of people criticized Urban Meyer when he first got hired for saying it, but the rest of the conference needs to perform well in big non conference games for the national respect to be increased.

  7. Speaking from a management/ownership position, if I have to tell my supervisor how to do his job and overrule his decisions about personnel under his control, the problem is my supervisor not his reports.

Name one instance, one time, where the AD forcing a coaches hand all of a sudden made that HC better and it was a long term solution. Some of ya'll are delusional if you think forcing changes under Pelini will work. I understand the thought that maybe that's all that will happen but we can hope for more and we don't have to pretend that is a real solution.

I didn't agree with TO forcing BO to keep certain staff and I would not agree with SE making him get rid of anyone.

If as the AD you are making personnel decisions, then it's time to change the Head coach. It's either you agree with the direction of program and the decision making ability of it leader or you don't. If you don't pull the trigger.
