  1. Are you serious? You don't see a big difference between a win and a loss? That's what I call a stupid view.

Okay, let me spell it out for you. VT is #5, we are #22. Where do you think each team would be ranked had they not completed the long pass on the final drive? Are you dense enough to believe that one drive is worth 17 spots in the poll?

    See what I'm getting at?

  2. You have to understand the simpletons that make up these polls. Most of them base 90% of their decision on W/L records.

If we had beaten VT by 1 point, we'd probably be in the top 10-that's how stupid it is.

Thursday we have a prime time slot and are going to bitch slap Misery on their home turf, and in front of the ENTIRE COUNTRY. That is the kind of game that will get people's attention.

  3. Why does everybody hate Notre Dame? What did they ever do other than get their butts kicked by us! Why not hate over-rated and constantly over hyped So Cal and their coach. Those under achievers are irritating and so is their coach.

I think my hate for ND became "full blown" after having to deal with years of their NBC contract-and this was back when there weren't that many games available to watch-at least not as many right now.

More recently, you can add the village idiot(Lou Holtz) factor.

    F them

  4. That's carzy. Missouri was favored by 7 against Nevada! I would think that Nebraska would be favored.

Your overlooking something. The game had NEVADA in it. U of N is in RENO. Lines are created to generate equal betting, not predict scores. SO what fan base to you think has a easier time placing bets. Ones that bet illegally through bookies across the country. Or ones that walk across the street to their sports book??

It's not quite that simple, otherwise you could get rich by simply fading Nevada and UNLV every week.

Not to mention that it was a 3 point win by Misery barring one really, really bad flag "wave off" for the pic block inside the 10.

  5. I've been reading this board for some time and now, thanks to your administrator, I actually have the ability to post.

Whether MU is rebuilding or reloading is still not clear. Our competition hasn't really pushed us yet and VT is the only school you've played that could even begin to give anyone an objective barometer for what the season holds for Nebraska.

To answer J Train, we're confident because even with the losses of Daniel, Maclin and Coffman, we've recruited well and there's talent stepping into the positions they held. We're confident because the game's being played in Columbia where you haven't had a lot of success recently and also because your offense is not something that strikes fear into an opponent. Helu will make his yards but the defense has improved significantly in minimizing big gains. Unless Lee plays several BIG levels better than he did against VT - which is the only NU game I've watched this season - MU will sell out to stop the run and Lee doesn't have the passing game to make us pay.

I've seen other threads which talk about the superiority of your lines and up to this point Nebraska's has played better. When Gabbert has had to scramble it's typically taken more than just the oppositions front four to apply the pressure. The MU receivers are much better than anyone you've had to play against up to now and your backfield is the weakest link to your defense. If MU can exploit that your chances of winning drop considerably. Likewise, if your O-line can dominate up front and keep our offense off the field, our chances are seriously hurt. To see which one happens is why we're all wishing next Thursday would get here sooner than it will.

Also for J Train - we think we'll beat ku because we always think we'll beat ku. It certainly doesn't always happen but the history between our two schools is such that the more experienced and talented team doesn't always win - last year being a case in point. That and the idea of losing to ku is hateful to anyone who loves MU. Lastly, if you truly think Pelini is going to win a conference championship in his first four years find a Vegas line for it - the odds ought to be astronomical.

This is at least better than the "ur gay" responses that we get on the Mizz board. You have some valid points-nobody really knows a whole lot yet. Of course people are going to talk smack-many would argue that this game is essentially for the big 12 north title.

This is going to be a scary game for both sides. Mizz has the deep threat and we have the swarming defense that may create sacks and/or turnovers. I think that you are underestimating Lee's passing ability-and before you mention VT, look at how many points Miami put up on their defense.

  6. One thing I'm excited to see is something that the guys on Husker Sports Nightly brought up tonight, and it's something I never really thought of.

Gabbert has been making a lot of throws while running towards the hash marks, towards the sidelines, and then throwing across his body and hitting receivers, practically just lobbing the ball up there. While that worked against Furman and Nevada, Nebraska's defense is going to make the pick in those situations. Gabbert can't extend plays by running to the outside and then lobbing it up for receivers. Even if he has the arm strength to make those throws, floating the ball up against an athletic Nebraska backfield is not something he is going to want to do. Amukamara, Asante, and hell even West will make that pick.

He's going to need to play smarter ball come the 8th.

Or Suh is going to break him into pieces. Their O-line better be crapping their pants, because they are about to get slammed by the wrath of hell. It's going to get hot in Gabby's kitchen-REAL HOT!

  7. if you wanna hear the big bunch of babys. tigerboard.com is your place.

ive never seen a fan base care so much about rankings in my life. get over it.

For the most part, it's also full of teenage retards. It's brutal

  8. We had a packed house for every game on tv this year. There was only standing room for every game and people were there easily 3-4 hours prior to the game just to try and get seats. Easily a 1000 people per game in that little tiny area.

100% accurate. It's so crowded, it's basically a complete clusterF unless you get their HOURS before the game & get a seat.
