So I'm not going to dig through 306 pages. But, my info says we finalized with Frost in writing on Tuesday. Happy day.

I would not call what he has been doing "coaching". Now maybe "coaching" is what he was trying to do, but if so, he was failing miserably.
When you "coach" people, their skills generally improve, and the team improves.
So from 2014 until now has their really been any improvement creditable to him? Any proof he actually improved anyone's skills?
Dude, how do you go through the world with this attitude? I'm just hoping that you're young and misunderstood on how the real world works. This thread is delusional.

What did he do for the people of this state that was actually worth upwards of 3 million dollars. Can someone tell me?
This is going to sound like hyperbole and I promise you it's not. Are you an adult person, or a young person that lives with their parents?

And Tenn is hiring Schiano. Gonna be a VERY Merry Xmas for Husker fans.

I think the whole "Frost is the only hope" idea is based on more than just coaching.
Moos hit on fan apathy and a fracture within the fan base during his presser yesterday. Frost is probably the only coach at this time (realistic coach anyway) that 90% of Husker could both be excited for and patient with. He's the only option that grew up in rural Nebraska and understands the fan mentality of Husker fans - "its definitely about more than winning, but don't lose to Illinois and Purdue, ever."
If we hire Campbell or Fuente or whoever, it's going to be a long apathetic of season. Leach is really the only other realistic option that would generate major excitement, but it'd probably be the wrong type of excitement for over half the fan base.
Agreed. Frost would be a uniting force from r fans to rally around. His background would give him more time to turn the ship. He may not be our coach for 10+ years, but I think he’s the right medicine we need for our 20 year long illness.

Honestly Florida is in a bad spot if we land Frost, Kelly goes to UCLA. That leaves them with flash in the pan risks of up and comers with high end buyouts, hiring a coordinator, or taking a risk on a known commodity like Leach that’s never really been to the top. Not a great spot to be in while also competing for coaches against Tenn, Ol Miss, and Arkansas.
im just VERY thankful we might get out of this with our guy.

Moos said he wants someone with head coaching experience so maybe not Venables.
Good catch. Go leach for the 6th spot is my guess. Scratch Venables.

I know we reached out to Petersen and spoke with his agent twice. So he has to be on it
Are these a current top 6? We already got turned away by Kelly and Peterson, so I didn’t put them on there. Beilema is clearly not on the list thank Jebus.

Frost, Fuente, Mullen, Sumlin, Campbell, Venables or Leach maybe?

Wrong. Frost won't be announced until after the CCG.
Would it be out of the ordinary to announce the hiring but let Scott finish out his season?

I’m guessing firing today. Announcement Tuesday for Frost

Change the title of the thread. Go to buzzfeed if you want clickbait.

Seeing some speculate that Frost may stay at UCF. That’s insane. It’s a coaches market with many high profile P5 teams looking for coaches. His name is hot and he’s sitting on the winning lotttery ticket. If he doesn’t cash it now he’s a crazy person.

We're firing Riley whether Frost comes or not.
Well of course we are. I’m just assuming it’s going to be Frost. The point is I’m guessing we aren’t going to hear anything until we have our next coach in writing. From what I’m hearing there’s about a 99.9% chance we end up with a coach F, even if We lose on Frost.
-
A part of me thinks we don’t hear anything until he has Frost signed on the dotted line. With so many programs looking for coaches this offseason I just don’t think we fire Mike before we have our ace in the hole.

Who is the backup plan? I mean do we really have a clue at this point? Kelly sounds if he is either Florida bound or UCLA, so we can take him off any dream list. With the current jobs being open, and Texas A&M being next to add to the list, I don't know if we do have a clear cut 2nd choice. Mullen sounds like he is likely looking at either Auburn ( if open), Arkansas, or Tennessee. Staying within the SEC is what the national media seem to be saying.
Like I have said on this thread, I don't think Bohl is the best person for the job, but don't think he is a bad choice either if Frost says no. I really like Mullen, and could see him doing some great things here, but sounds like SEC is where he wants to be. It will be best if Frost says yes, and then this all goes away. If Frost goes to Florida, then WOW, this board will explode, and Moos is in for an uphill climb here that he won't win unless we get an absolute home run hire.
From what I have heard we have a verbal commitment from a coach everybody would be pleased with as a backup if the Frost deal falls through.
-
Nebraska already has a backup plan in place if Frost doesn’t accept, and it’s not Bohl
-
Well he’s not currently on the team, so.... he can do whatever he wants.

Frost is . If you go back a few pages you'll see the announcement that Hedley made last night.
Respectfully nobody is N until I see him at a podium. I've followed enough recruiting to know that nothing is certain until the ink is dry.

Real talk, if we miss on Frost and hire Brett F'ing Beilema I will never watch another Husker game. Not an ounce of hyperbole in this statement. I've ben a Husker since birth but I'm out if that jackwagon steps foot on campus.

Adam was in the mix for a starting role before he got hurt if I remember correctly? I wonder if he just never was able to fully recoup after the injury?
