  1. 13/23 173 yards 1 TD Passing

    18 Car 65 yards 3.6 avg 1 TD Rushing

we've become so accustomed to his mediocrity that this game and stat line has people saying i-told-you-so's and shouting what really amounts to false hope from the rooftops. this is an amazing performance? no, calling this a great game by him is a facepalm to how horribly he has sucked the rest of the year.

you want to thank someone? thank the offensive line for finally showing up, not zac lee. they were blowing lazy, hungover wildcats off the ball all day long. qb sneaks for 3-4 yards? thats not zac lee. there is a reason we resorted to running the 'wild corn' or whatever for the first time all year with a true freshman.

He was good enough to have Texas beat with two seconds left.

  2. ive re-watched this game...and i give more credit to the amazingly lazy arizona D than to any miraculous acts zac lee created. one game, where all the offense had to do was score a field goal, does not excuse lee's performance across the entire year. its like people want to saint him for actually playing, honestly, average. i congratulate him for last night, i do think he played strides better than he had against other BCS competition. but if he is the best we truly have going into next year, i hope the offensive line is much well improved...because our line sacking up tonight, the return of a bullnosed burkhead and the very vanilla play of arizona's d had much more to do with lee's success than him being some sudden great.

    what? :facepalm::wacko:

  3. Niles Paul who really showed some Husker True grit this season has ascended a few steps. And what a joy it is to see. His uncles Ahman Green and Mike Green 1969 have to be very proud of his Holiday Bowl game.

With that bloodline, it is exciting to know the best is yet to come from Niles Paul!

"Niles Paul did a little bit of everything for Nebraska on Wednesday, and the junior wide receiver was rewarded for his efforts with a large, heavy trophy.

Paul earned the Holiday Bowl’s offensive most valuable player award after the Huskers’ 33-0 victory over Arizona.

Paul caught a 74-yard touchdown pass — Nebraska’s longest touchdown reception ever in a bowl game — and finished with four catches for 173 yards. His 796 receiving yards this season rank fifth all-time at NU in a single season.

“I’ve been saying all year we’ve got a very potent offense, and we just needed some opportunities to go out there and make plays, which we did,” Paul said. “I’m just glad Coach (Shawn) Watson put us in the position to do that.”

Paul sparked Nebraska in special teams, too. He split two defenders on a 28-yard punt return that set up an Alex Henery field goal, and he returned the opening kickoff of the second half 49 yards. That led to another Henery field goal.

“I was just doing what I can for the team,” Paul said. “Those other guys went out there and blocked hard for me, and I just followed my blocks.”

Paul saved his biggest play for last, when he caught Zac Lee’s deep pass in stride and ran untouched to the end zone.

“The corner was biting on a lot of short routes,” Paul said. “He was just sitting there, so we talked to Coach about running a double move, and it worked, obviously, because he fell.”"

  4. Zac Lee had a great game! And he has been one tough guy all season. He has grown. I am very proud of this team for the hard work and how they never once folded. This team led by Zac lee just kept coming. Even when the fans got on them they just gathered themselves kept working and kept coming. The Bo Pellini character and persona became the hallmark of guys who would just never quit.

How fitting the early seasoin goat, Matt O'Hanlon finished as the defensive player of a most remarkable Holiday BOWL. :star:star:star:star:star

  5. yes way too expensive with a 98 million budget and most from football and the bowl paying for travel and expense way too expensive but Millard West 96 menber band is flying to the Rose Bowl

looks like we do have a pro team

it is not about the band or the students

all money for one thing the ad department and big power fat cats

  6. there is a list and when you see who went and how many rooms seats and meals it will shock and embarass you

most of the peoiple who go for free could afford to pay they are fat cats stealing perks from students

under state freedom of information they disclose but months later

  7. Would you have rather them gone anyway and been involved in an accident?

Yeah, good call. You should run the program.

My feeling is the band is a priority not Regents and politicans. The band should have flown! The Bowls pay for these expenses but the adminstrators put the band on a bus and put a bunch of freeloaders and the freeloader's entourage on a jet and get em a limo and hotel and meals and hotel first class all the way.

We are the fourth most valuable program but rather selfhish about sharing with the students and student life experiences

    "4. Nebraska Cornhuskers

    Team Value: $93 million

    Profit: $49 million

    Head Coach: Bo Pelini

    Conference: Big 12

    Previous Value Rank: 18

    Lincoln, Neb., Metro Population: 295,486

Donations required by Nebraska for season ticket holders to keep their seats totaled $15 million last season. "

  8. I was sad to see that our band was forced to remain in Lincoln. It seems since they take so many freloading big shots there was no money for airfare just a dangerous long winter bus ride. This affirms NU is all about the money and not the students. Just like moving the UNL students to the worst seats in the stadium and then cutting the number and raising the prices! :dunno<_<:hmmph:o:o

  9. he is riding the bench along with top recuits like Okafor and The 6-foot, 215-pound Gilleylen was dubbed in the preseason as NU's deep threat, the fastest of a group that returned minimal starting experience.

Through four games, he led the team in receiving yards, averaging almost 32 yards a catch as Nebraska stretched the field. Then he was sent to the bench and Watson's offense started to get worse every game until Texas the worst offensive showing in what 60 years. Give the offensive coach and his huge pay package a pat on the back and a raise!

None of it is on the players is it? It is all on the coaches. Did you ever think that maybe just maybe Holt, Gilleylen and Okafor just aren't that good? Gilleylen did all of his damage against the Sun Belt and couldn't do anything against anybody else. Same with Holt and Okafor can't beat out AJ Jones. End of story time to move on.

Of course, they were good, but now, due to the great coaching they just are not good enough! Just like Dillard, not good!

Just like Suh and our defense who went from 107th to 9th with same players. Suh was really not that good until Bo coached him up!

Just blame the players, really? Not good enough, the tell me, why recuit them why give them scolarships. We have very poor coaching on offense unless your last name is Cotton!

  11. King says he talked to a number of pro souts and they are all drooling to get Suh. They describe him as a once in a decade pick. So whoever has the first draft pick may take him even if do not need him and trade him in just minutes for a very high price!

  12. This site is dedicated to firing TG from Buffalo but was changed on the 13th to reflect the Kansas hiring. According to a web whois I get this information:

    Domain Name: FIRETURNERGILL.COM

    Created on: 08-Oct-09

    Expires on: 08-Oct-10

    Last Updated on: 13-Dec-09

Looks like someone just hates TG and it doesn't matter where he goes. The person who registered it lives in Athens, GA.

Nice detective work! Sounds like we have a cyberstalking goofball on our hands. Had Gill taken an OC job with, say, the Patriots, would he have kept that up, saying that the Patsies had hired the wrong guy?

Imagine spending money on a website like that. Could donate that to the local shelter, but no... spend it on this. Brilliant.

I wonder if the godaddy people have seen the content at craig's list you can flag a post but this borders on hate speech as it was on Buffalo and now the turd has followed Turner to Kansas the ad and Highway patrol should follow up on this guy

  13. I am not sure about how to go about this but the web site needs to be called out. I think it is ok to put it up under freedom of speech but the person who put it up should be exposed. He is posting an anonymous attack! Turner has done nothing here at all!

He needs to be named publicly and if he is using his employers time and computers to do it they should be made well aware of it. It is very uinfair to Turner and his family. I peersonally, would not like like to work next the person who would post such a page. And if he is using a company resource or time he is the one who should be fired.

I know we have some fols herre who are vey good with tech things and at.

So, for hose here who know how to perhaps it is time to help Turner andge this naty web page removed espically fr postiinn it now to p[osin Turner's big day. It is very vicious attack on Turner, and there is no telling what this person's next move will be!tributes and hosting.

  14. Gill to be named Kansas coach

    By Jason King, Yahoo! Sports

Buzz up! PrintTurner Gill will be named head football coach at Kansas, Yahoo! Sports has learned.

Gill, 47, coached at the University at Buffalo from 2006-09. He went 20-30 overall and 14-18 in the Mid-American Conference.

More From Jason KingTemper tanks Mangino Dec 3, 2009 Gill had losing seasons in three of his four years, including a 5-7 mark in 2009.

In 2008, Buffalo went 8-6 and won the MAC title.

Gill emerged from a list of candidates that included Stanford’s Jim Harbaugh and East Carolina’s Skip Holtz.

  15. Very interesting and Alabama and Stanford have the top backs while NU has Watson and an offense he says is, wait, what week is it? Oh, what is Watson calling his offense this week?

    Woody Hayes offense?

Meanwhile I bet Colin Okafor wishes he had gone to Stanford. Colin is a smart kid but just not quite bright enough to understand this offense even though he was the top rusher in the spring game.

    Get in the shotgun!

All of Huskerland is watching Suh while all the great running teams from Stanford and Alabama send backs for the award. Where is our Heisman running back?

Come to think of it where is our offense? What is our offense?

  16. Assuming that our offensive philosophy is heading in a different direction next year, where does that leave the players that were recruited under the current system we have now?

What I mean is, whatever philosophy we're trying for, will the current roster be able to chuck the old system and adapt to the new one without risk of slowing the learning process down?

Barney Cotton's son will work out. Not sure why he got a scholie since the coaches son get free tuition? One thing is sure he will ge plenty of playing time.

  17. Watson has spent the last part of the season mocking his own game plans saying he feels like Woody Hayes publicly. The guy is a retard, what top prospect hearing him would waste his career here. Any top prospect that sees his play calling should bend over laughing not signing to come here.

The reason Cininatti's ND kelly excelled is he found diamonds in the rough. Watson takes a diamond and has them sit on the bench.

Looking at other toprecuit running backs were promised a chance and they get no carries. Okafor would have some carries at most places. He needs an opportunity to prove himself!

Get used to years of Watson torture and then Bo will get fired for going 6-6 and no bowl

TO will be gone and so will Bo and we will wander looking for coach.

Alabama is going to win a NC with a running game. When is the last time we had a top running back? It was under Solich who so many of you disdain!

Frank Solich rember him #45 could coach and he had some decent backs.

Get in the shotgun, get used to it WCO bs for the near future slow Watson torture!
