  1. Parking across the bridge to the North of the stadium runs $5-$20 per car. You can find people selling spots in their yards. Some allow indoor bathroom access. You could probably find someone that would let you grill. As long as booze/beer is in a red solo cup, and you are not being belligerent, you are perfectly fine in private lots/yards.

Red cups and Koozies walking down streets is at your own risk. I've done it, but I usually get rid of it before a large intersection. The police are usually pretty sporadic and as long as you are being semi-covert, it is probably safe. I'd get rid of anything directly around the stadium or in the downtown area. Then again, I have seen many people with a koozie drinking around the stadium pre-game. There are so many people, it's easy to blend in.

I have also seen plenty of people carrying around cases of unopened beer or wheeling large coolers no problem, literally right outside the stadium.

  2.

Anyone making the trip to south beach for the game in September?

Yep- typically, about 8 of us will hit an NFL game too. I have not seen if the Dolphins are in town or not.

We're going to try to hit both games too. The Dolphins reg season schedule supposedly comes out right around the draft, probably shortly afterwards.

  3. Nebraska, not living up the the BIG's original expectations, was the unknowing recipient of a master plan concocted over two years ago BIG officials.

Top down talks from upper level BIG reps were funneled through Alvarez to SE last year. Those discussions centered around replacing the NE football coaching staff. This action was the first step in a long list of BIG administrative plans, among which that were set into motion, were to increase the chances of NE re-rentering elite status, which in turn would elevate the image BIG West/BIG as a whole.

During these initial talks, it was disclosed to SE that the BIG legal crew had already worked out loopholes in the Tressel show clause and were actively working behind the scenes to provide the program with everything needed to bring Tressel back into the coaching world for NE and the BIG.

This plan, is among the many steps being taken by the BIG administration to re-ignite the BIG's traditionally elite programs, which in turn would help give the BIG better recruits, rankings, and respect in the football world.

As PSU's sanctions are stripped away, Michigan quietly bids it's time for their plan to unfold...

  4.

Sker, I notice a little less confidence in your post. Are the rumblings of the base cracking some, true?

I've not once said there weren't rumblings. But rumblings with Nebraska football are nothing new. Like you, I'm not one of the younger posters on here. I do not like the brand of football we are currently playing. I also know that doesn't mean Pelini is getting ready to be shown the door. Internet boards are great.....they can be fun.....but have nothing to do with the influence with Osborne and Hawks, among a few others, in such a decision.

But they are aware of them. One could even say that they help measure the heartbeat of huskernation...

  5. Mavric, I applaud the effort and see where you're going with it, but to me the $64k question is how are they coming up with the initial ranking for which they base others' rankings. I'm guess I'm looking for the key stone.

I believe I know the answer (eye test; previous years), however, I'm amazed at how often fans and media just take the "rankings based on opponents rankings" as gospel without asking more critical questions.

Why are they good? Well, because they beat other good teams, and only lost to really good teams.

But how do you know those teams were good? Well, because they started out good.

How did they start out good? Because, they were good last year.

So they're good this year, because of their match ups to teams that were good last year? Exactly.

And how did you know they were good last year?

  6. I have a Shuffleboard Table in my mancave. Although I'm not planning on giving it up. But I know where you can get a good deal on a different one. If you don't mind driving to Illinois to pick it up. lol

btw, I'm in the process of building a new mancave too. I have quite a few toys already. Might need to get an old timey pinball machine.

Seriously. Best pinball game ever. The gameplay, handling, combos and extended play are insane:
