  1. I do not know about all time, but if I had to pick someone who just recently finished up their career...Jeremiah Sirles. He was a steady contributor on the oline and gave us a lot of solid football over his long career. I think some people forget that he started every game as a redshirt freshman with 40 career starts and played in all 52 games. Not to mention that he played out the final games of this season with a sprained knee and did not miss a beat. Its a shame he never got the any of the top honors he deserved.

  2. Layne is a very good looking and an even better person. I have never met a more Christ centered-conservative person, but yet she is not one of those over the top bible thumpers. From what I have heard Khiry, is a pretty good guy and hopefully every thing works out well for him.

  3.

DB - It is believed that Raymond Ford is a silent commit. Especially since the staff seem to be targeting one more big time target and originally wanted two. Brandon Beaver is said to be a silent commit to Washington and will take an OV to Oklahoma this weekend... he is pretty much out of it for us. Devian Shelton is taking an OV to Tennessee this weekend and will decide next week. He loved his visit to NU and almost committed on the spot... almost didn't even go to visit Tennessee. Charles Jackson most likely will not qualify and will go JUCO. Anthony Standifer is a back up plan if all of the guys above fall through and we need 1 more CB. As far as Safety prospects... we want to take 1. Corey Thompson is our #1 prospect right now but has a few more visits left to take before he decides. He loved his visit to NU but still says he is solid to A&M... will make his final announcement on signing day. Sebastian Smith does not have an offer yet but is probably the next option behind Thompson. He does have some academic concerns though and is said to be a great player that most have overlooked because of grades. The staff also recently talked to Toledo commit Mark Meyers about coming in if all other options fail. (Wouldn't you love to be that guy haha!).

Shelton isn't visiting Tenneessee he is going to Washington. And that visit is a heck of a lot scarier than him going to Knoxville IMO.

Little early to throw the CJack to the JUCO route.

    Thompson will stay an Aggie.

Smith is not a huge academic risk. Should be able to get into college.

    ouch...

  4. He should be a top 10 pick in the draft.

Yes he should be, he is the definition of a football player. Unfortunately, the scouts have him ranked as the No.6 LB and 51 overall, take that for what it is worth. I think he will prove them wrong and a team will take a shot on him early in the second round.

  5. Now that the season is over, Nebraska "fans" can stop bashing players who put their heart and soul into this team by giving it their all everyday. I am sure this happens with every fan base, but it is not like players such as Cassidy and Thorell are purposely playing bad.

A bright spot would be to not have to read anymore of these types of posts, but probably not going to happen.

Yeah, I suppose that supporting our players is a bad thing...what was I thinking?

  7. That isn't the former Godfather's location that is now JJ's, is it?

    Nope. It's in Columbus.

    You're from Ohio!?!??!

I believe he's from Columbus, NE

    :cowbell: :cowbell: :cowbell:

Now I know why I get sick every time I eat at JJ's

  8. If a recruiting or scouting service, such as Rivals.com, provides nonscholastic video that is not available for free to the general public, then an institution may not subscribe to the service per Bylaw 13.14.3. All recruiting/scouting services are held to the same legislated standard and we consider Rivals.com to be a recruiting/scouting service. The staff has issued a staff interpretation (4/29/09) and two educational columns (3/10/2009 and 5/4/2010) that discuss this issue generally that I have included below.

The league coaches were instructed to immediately cancel any subscriptions to Rivals.com and to report a secondary recruiting violation if they were or ever have been subscribed (paid or complimentary). LINK

This is pretty huge for Rivals. And not in a good way.

That is ridiculous that a school would have to report it as a secondary recruiting violation for a new rule that was just instituted. Are the coaches supposed to read the NCAA's mind or what? The NCAA is so screwed up in my opinion, it seems like everyday a school is getting slapped with sanctions. College sports are becoming tainted.
