I know the reason we do it, still don't like the idea.  Almost died laughing at Ohio State's uniforms.  Nebraska is still a blue blood, we don't need gimmicks.  But we need recruits and this is the kind of stuff they all claim they like.  So be it.  I actually get to watch the game tomorrow.  Hope it isn't to distractive.

Ohio State’s black uniforms from last week? I guess I don’t see what would be worth that much laughter. Were their Buckeye pride stickers more phallic than usual? Two entirely different senses of humor, for sure.

Walter Payton was also pretty good at it considering he invented it

I don’t know that you can say he “invented” a dive. He may have been the first prominent player to utilize it, but there’s no way of knowing if he was the first.

    He sure did, in 2012.

I wouldn't say that diminishes the value of the award, however.  I mean, Adolf Hitler was TIME magazine's Person of the Year in 1938.  My point is, sometimes they make poor decisions because of all the strain associated with the decision! ;)

Yeah, but the Person of the Year doesn’t necessarily go to the best person, just the person who had the largest effect on the year.

By comparison, Diaco very well could have won it last year.

With this defense I think yards per play, takeaways, and points per opponent possession, are a better measure than overall yards against and total scoring defense. I’m not saying the 2018 D is much better (if at all) but with Frost’s offense vs. Riley’s offense not all comparisons are valid.

In the scheme of things, those stats do tell whether the defense is getting better, which they are. But PPG is really all that truly matters at the end of the day. So I can see why someone would compare based on that.

  5. I guess I don’t see how being bummed that we weren’t able to pull out the win and seeing/appreciating the progress the team has made are mutually exclusive.

Of course I’m pleased we were in the position to win the game. It doesn’t change the fact that it sucks we lost.

I don’t see how any fan of any team wouldn’t be bummed that their team lost, no matter the margin of victory or how big of underdogs they were.

Remember when DPE destroyed his knee jumping to celebrate a Td?  If I'm Frost I'ld kindly ask my players not to do random back flips during the season

I remember him running over to congratulate Stanley Morgan and his knee giving out, but he was not jumping.

No way...  This couldn’t have happened because because of all the “experts” on here a couple pages back (@Ziebol) said it doesn’t happen and folks like Jim Rose (who just happen to know more than they do) should just stop with the crazy conspiracy theories and wish him well.  (Sarcasm)

Well, the quote you gave and what Sean Callahan said are two different things. Your quote said it was Jim Rose who got the call, which makes "someone he'd never heard of" a pretty unreliable source. Maybe you meant it the way Callahan said it, but you can't gripe at people for questioning your post when you don't post the info correctly.

    Also, it's still Jim Rose.

Theres 2 in flag shorts. I actually just watched it. It ends with....kentucky.com  So, Im going with best friend is one in flag shorts with UK shirt.

That’s the url for the newspaper where the live feed will be. It’s not really an indicator of anything; lest we forget Noah Fant committing to Iowa on Sharpe and Benning.

This should end the “Don’t jump to conclusions” folks debate:

On Jim Rose radio show this morning:

"Rose said that he got a call from someone in the Robinson camp that he didn't even know. That Scott was asked if we could match their (Kentuckys) offer. Rose then said that was the end of our pursuit of Robinson."

    1. It’s Jim Rose

    2. He got a call from someone he didn’t even know? How is that even remotely reliable?

    3. It’s Jim Rose

So if this has been going on for a few years, why bring it up now, in the middle of the season? To save face for a 'retirement' at the end of this season?

It does seem like a perfectly reasonable time for a coach to bring up one more thing that could distract his team. The more distractions, the better you play!

Actually, when you think of mid-‘90s Nebraska, that might hold some weight lol.

Why not Urban Meyer for the Cleveland job?   Right up the road in Ohio.  No pressure.  Big bucks, popular, etc.   Great retirement job for him.   Expecatations are low or non-existant and away from the fish bowl.  If Ohio State flops the rest of this year, the grumbling will be heard and he may not be all that happy there.

It wasn't the NCAA's fault, it was UCF's.

We appealed to the NCAA in the off-season for the waiver and it wasn’t approved until Northwestern. Vedral was released from his UCF scholarship in May and was put on scholarship here before the season.

The NCAA made the ruling on the waiver before our sixth game.

    How was that UCF’s fault?

Taylor is my favorite post-Frost QB, but I would be a little underwhelmed, which would be a change from the normal existence as a Browns fan of incredibly underwhelmed.

If it’s anyone other than Lincoln Riley, I suppose Zac Taylor would be a pretty cool compromise. My college and NFL teams both coached by two of my favorite Husker quarterbacks.

  14. I’ll take Nebraska to cover all day. That’s one helluva spread considering the trajectory of both teams. But outside of March Madness pools and fantasy football, I’ve only bet on sports twice. So what do I know?
