  1. I guess I am excited, more glad its over.  I really hope they keep Mickey, as many of you already stated.  Question, how was Matt as a recruiter?  Its probably hard to really judge results from Temple and Baylor, but what's everyone opinion?  The question I should be asking is how has his team developed Offensive Lines!  :)

How's it even cancel culture though? There was a minor change to a logo to avoid a currently unsavory pop culture phenomenon, and if not for a press release no one would bat an eye. Herbie is still there, he's still a blonde hick in overalls, and he's still the main mascot.

Maybe not directly, but don’t you think it’s an evolution of it?

Well, cancel culture has been considered "freekn awesome" by Conservative Christians and the GOP for decades until the tables were turned, so this tracks with your predilections.

Um ok, but what's your point here?  Are you assuming my disliking of cancel culture only pertained to leftist ideologies?  You know I made a harmless statement about cancel culture, then you came back with some condescending garble about what I should really think and do.  What they hell do you care if I say I don't like cancel culture, seriously.

Um…this isn’t cancel culture. This is dealing with a hand gesture that’s been appropriated by white supremacists…no matter how many times people claim “it was a hoax” and make excuses for white supremacists.

If you or anyone else are butthurt by this, then maybe instead of making excuses for people engaging in white supremacy because they support “your guy”, you should be pissed off at the white supremacists and should be working to get rid of them and their enablers…

Thanks for showing me the errors of my ways.  Let me change my statement, this had nothing to do with cancel culture and cancel culture is freekn awesome.  f#&% off white supremacist!   Is this better Joy Behar?

Nebraska has mastered the ability to continually get in its own way!

I have a funny story to add to this.  I moved out to Southern California in 2001, in 2015 I started practicing at the Murrieta Golf range and met Barry McDonald, he was Ricky Fowlers coach and a great man, he has since passed on.  I took twenty or so lessons from Barry, he was all old school, no videos.  If he wanted to show you something he would make you feel it with a drill or pull out Ben Hogans "Five Lessons", and show you a picture.  While practicing, one of the old pro's that also taught at the range asked Barry while I was hitting, "Barry, how is "Name" hitting them"?  Barry looked at him and said, "Name", just need's to learn to get out of his own way".  I still cant by the way.  :)

Man, there is a lot to defend here.  Really nice play design.  Play action to draw the linebackers up.  Crisp throw over the top.

How crazy is it seeing 6'4 and 6'3 fast receivers making plays!  Throw in Betts and Martin, you could make the argument these guys have the potential to be the best receiver group ever.  Additionally, Nixon looked super quick on his one catch.

Yant channeled his inner Dan Alexander

Funny you said Dan Alexander, he was a specimen.  With that being said, I had season tickets back then, and remember watching him literally try to run over a defender that was already on the ground, then falling on the ground.  If he would of had any lateral capabilities, he would have been in the NFL.

     Not true.

We needed a downfield threat in addition to Wandale. Manning has shown some flashes and got some production this year. However, he was not productive at all last year and many including the coaching staff weren't sure he would be healthy enough to play and contribute much at all this season. Betts has always shown potential but last year his playing time and play was very spotty. Again this year, flashes of greatness, but still not consistently productive, the same last year. Toure can play inside or outside, he has the size. More importantly is his consistency and maturity- knowledge of the game. I don't think Manning or Betts are anywhere close to Toures maturity and consistency level- which is what was sorely needed.

An argument could be made that Wandale leaving has created the opportunity for Betts and Manning to get more experience,  thus the consistency and maturity.  It feels like a waste of time to compare last year to this year, covid and that craziness effected everybody.

Wandale Robinson has played 3 games,  catching 18 passes for 337 yards and 2 TDs.  He has rushed the ball 3 times for 73 yards.

I am not shocked at all by these numbers.  I watched parts of there first game and he was utilized perfectly, Kentucky has a solid squad with some impressive talent at the skill positions.

If Robinson was still here, it is unlikely we would have pursued Toure.  At worst the trade off has been a wash imo.

    Drive careful.

That's true, and I didn't even think about that when I was typing.  The first game I thought he was good, but I wasn't blown away by his speed, but I was totally wrong about that.  I had no idea he is 6.3, he has a smooth long stride running style, and is obviously fast.  I know this is going to sound crazy, but I don't know if I would trade our receivers for any other team in the big ten pertaining to potential.   FYI - I am stopped on the freeway, traffic is wonderful and makes me super happy!

Would that be categorized under quarterback development or no?......

I think it could be multiple reasons.

    1.  Adrian really looked mechanical all last year and for some of this years Illinois game, the last three games he looks much more relaxed.  Maybe he just finally learned to get out of his own way.

    2.  More talent at the receiver and TE positions this year.  Way, way more talent.  Just think, if things would have worked out differently, we could of still had Washington and Robinson on this team.

    3.  Development, this one is tough to gauge because he has been here for four years now.  I am sure he is still learning, but eventually he has to take ownership and get out there and make it rain, which he did this last game.

I am sure there are more, but I am driving and typing on the 15 in So Cal, so if I keep this up there is a good chance I may die.  :)

  13. My apologies if this has been stated on this thread earlier, but there is no way I am reading through this to check.  I am so excited to see Adrian scan the field, last year it was brutal watching him look, mostly at Wandale, then either half a$$ taking off and running, or throwing to the one guy he was staring down for the last 2-4 seconds.    I re-watched the OU game, and saw multiple times where he scanned two, sometimes three levels before making the throw.  Now if the offensive line can pull their head out of there asses.---
