Nah, you are the one with the bad take. There is a reason Wandale never brook one to the house when using top end speed. He was mostly good for short catches in space. that is NEVER going to beat Ohio state. The play that Betts had against Penn state is the electric athletic ability that can win you games against Ohio State. Look back at every win against PSU and OSU while Nebraska has been in the Big Ten....zero Wandale types were on the WR unit playing in those games.

People overrate Wandale. He is good but not a special talent. Betts is a special talent.

I understand what you are trying to say and Betts has tremendous up side, but Wandale was/is a special talent.  He would have benefited greatly with more talent around him and consist QB play.  While OSU and Alabama’s wr talent is elite, they have many great players at that position, we do not.

@CAHusker AFAICT it's mostly the 247 guys who are saying they expect it to happen. Rivals seems to be more cautious with this one.

Thanks.  So crazy, he gets more touches here than he will get by transferring to a top team.  I haven’t read any of this thread, I am assuming there are other variables, Covid, family, etc.

I think it is  dumb move on his part. JD ended up sitting on the bench. I bet he ends up regretting it in the end.

My specific question, is what is our confidence that this is really going to happen?

Wandale news should be coming out tomorrow. Lose one WR and gain another WR.

Your freekn s#!tting me, this is really going to happen?  Are we sure on this, or are we just guessing and nobody really knows?

I learned this program is still stuck in mediocrity.  Nebraska should have blown out Rutgers and not needed a 4th quarter come from behind victory to win the game.  I definitely appreciated the fight, and Frost brings a lot of that himself, but that alone does not make a program good.  This staff and team have a long way to go to be competitive in the BIG.

I learned this program is still stuck in mediocrity.  Really, you just learned that after this game?

I was wondering why Warner would leave?

But at the end of the day anyone with a pair doesn’t want to be a loser if they don’t have to be.

I get Warner, he is going to get passed by some of the young talent eventually.  My point is that Wandale is getting utilized more that anyone excluding the QB's, not sure if its advantageous to leave.  I guess you could say the players want to win, but Wandale is treated pretty well and putting up some good numbers.  The grass isn't always greener, and so forth.

  7. 1.  Out recruiting all other Big10 west teams doesn't seem to mean s#!t.

Question- am I the only one that feels that every team we have played has better?

    1. Defensive Ends
    2. Running Backs
    3. Wide Receivers
    4. Quarterback that can string multiple accurate throws

Its exhausting being a Nebraska fan.

Newcombe sure but Wandale isn't in the company of Fryar or Rodgers.

Fryer and Rogers were absolutely on a different level, but if Newcomb would have stayed focused on a returner/receiver he could have been.  You could make the argument that Rogers was one of the best wingbacks/returners ever!

He maybe loves contact too much. They've added mass to his frame but he's not really big enough to keep banging heads with Safeties.

We get someone (Betts? Manning?) who can legit stretch the field and they can stop focusing on Wan'Dale, he's going to find more open spaces and then look out.

Right now opponents are keying on him and he doesn't have room to break anything. I can't wait to see him get into space.

Exactly!  He, like Spielman, but more versatile, will thrive when teams don't get to over commit to him.

  10. I am going to oversimplify.  Sign him, if he competes and wins the job then he plays, if he doesn't maybe he uses this opportunity to start his coaching journey and is asked to tutor and assist the other QB's.   I really like the potential of our QB's, but nobody is showing us anything special at the moment.  How long do you worry about hurting feelings and transfers?

I get peoples concern with the OL, but AM holds on to the ball FOREVER.  He throws to receivers after the route break and I believe that’s why people are all over them when the ball is coming in.

That being said, he’s clearly the best option and he’s showed a lot of heart the last month.

    THIS!
