So is this going to be another 15+ carry game for Wan'Dale, or is this Scott's breakout game and Rahmir's first real opportunity? Held also mentioned Morrison getting closer after being dinged up - easier to be close if two of the top 3 backs are out.

This suckS,  because this is kinda game a healthy  Mills could have a 100-150 yard type game.

Yep.  And was our highest-graded defensive player per Pro Football Focus.  Only Zavier Betts graded higher overall (on 18 plays).

Pretty impressive!  What are our thoughts on where he would go in the draft?  Better yet, he really needs one more year at Nebraska to hone his skill, of course he doesn't.  :)

I will cry out of fear we will try it a second time and it will be disastrous

    pound the rock.

I mean eventually we have to become not so predictable, and try to stretch the field.  We are not pounding anybody into submission with Wand ale Robinson in a single back setting.

Other than Iowa, NU is playing some pretty bad defenses in the last 4 games of the season.  I agree that whomever is starting, should benefit from an improved offense by playing bad defenses the rest of the year.

Am I the only one whom will actually break down and cry if we throw a 20-40 yard pass completion to a receiver on a go/fly route?

Watching our defensive line & linebackers get leverage and be able to push them back is so encouraging.  If I/we had to continue to watch us play pattycake with their offensive line for another year, I was going to loose my s#!t.  And yes, I do understand that there are plays where the assignment is to hold position, but even that looks better this year.  Additionally, and I cant say this enough, they just physically look better!  I would say the training/nutrition plan is starting to pay off.

Probably.  No one uses a year of eligibility this year.  So it's possible for everyone to come back.

But the school has some say on if they are going to allow that or not.  Wisconsin did not allow their spring sport seniors to come back for another year next year.

I would think Nebraska will welcome back anyone they think will still help.  Any who probably aren't going to contribute will probably be advised to move on.

Thanks for the info.  Well, I can think of a few defensive seniors I would welcome back for another year.  :)

Yeah, I was pretty down on Honas last year.  But he seems to be much improved this year.  I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't completely recovered from his knee injury last year.

Just to clarify something, can these seniors come back for another year?  I am sure it has been discussed, but I am not sure what the covid rules are.

I saw on Twitter that Robinson was holding a Blackshirt while in the locker room.  No official word on the Blackshirts though.

Over the next two-three years I think you will be able to argue that Ty Robinson was our  biggest recruiting get within the last 10-15 years.  So much strength, speed and want to!

And, I see this in just about every game with every QB.

Yes, he needs to improve.  He has a lot of areas where he can improve to make the offense click and be more productive.  But, picking out one or two passes in a game that could/should have been more accurate, is nitpicking in my opinion.

I was watching an NFL game the other day with Tom Brady.  He threw a pass in the end zone exactly like the one that Warner dropped in the OSU game.  Brady's WR caught it.  But, it was way behind and high for him to reach up and grab.

Burrow lived off of throwing to WRs that were smothered with coverage and his WRs went up and made a play.

This will happen from time to time with whomever is the QB at Nebraska.

    so much this!

I don't want to kill a quarterback controversy thread because every team needs one, but this appears to be a rare case where fans and coaches are actually in agreement:  Luke McCaffrey has a slight edge on Adrian Martinez in executing an offense that still has a lot of work to do.

So go Logan Smothers or go home, b!^@hes.

Ok, that made me laugh out loud.

Word is he has still been practicing but hasn't really been in the mix with the first group.

That's good news.  So many things could be in play here, maybe just needs this year to get his head right.  Looks like Betts and Fleming are coming along nicely, so as much as we wanted him to play, maybe it wont be as bad.  Additionally, if our quarterbacks don't get there s#!t together, it doesn't matter who is at receiver.

Word is he cleared out his locker but haven't heard anything from anyone I consider reliable yet.  Plenty of rumors floating though.  It's too bad but at least we weren't seriously invested in him at this point.

Crazy if true, we have lost four 4* guys from the 2019 class.  I guess covid maybe had something to do with the first three.  What the hell is this guy thinking if true?  There is no way that the coaches didn't want this guy out there, he must have been totally f#&%ing off.

don't know if anyone mentioned this but if Jurgens is out the offense does look a lot worse.  Farniok is not a very good center.  I'm pretty sure he probably missed a bunch of line calls and he can't block for s#!t.  On more than one occasion he was looking back toward the backfield.  not the direction you want your o-line looking.  He looked like a lost ball in high weeds

I re-watched the game, so much this.  Does anyone have a guess, on whats wrong with Jurgens?

The skill positions are underperformed right now but for all of the yammering for years and years about the trenches its finally getting better there it seems and its doom and gloom for another reason. Obviously we aren't that good of a football team right now. We probably should be better than we are right now at this point in Frosts tenure. But to say we are showing no signs or indicators of improvement is just flat out false. We are better in the trenches this year than we have been since Bo was coach at the very least. We were way way way behind in that department when Frost arrived. Its gotten much better and that is the foundation in this league. Yes better QB play would be great, but at the end of the day you have to stop the run and run the ball to do well in this league. We are building that foundation.

I don't really have any issues with your post, but I would slightly change the first sentence.  I would say the erratic QB play has not allowed our skill positions to get going.  I think we are going to get there, but Frost is going to have to make a hard call on benching Martinez , and I am not confident he is going to do that, hopefully I am wrong.

Like you mentioned above regarding the OLine and DLine, this is the best it has looked in years, and so young.  I am super excited about this. Its nice to see a bunch of in-shape athletes at these positions, instead of a bunch of out of shape fat assess.

    My take aways:

    1.  Glad you chose Frost and let us keep Campbell.

    2.  If you are a prospective RB recruit, look somewhere besides Nebraska

    3.  Neither of your QBs look impressive.

    4.  NW is bad.

    5.  Kirk Ferentz is a racist (which has nothing to do with Nebraska but I like to      keep pointing it out)

    6.  Footballs bounce real high when you throw it at a helmet

    7.  Kansas looks better at this point in the season

    8.  I’m an asshat

DiNardo just said drastically improved team...did I miss something? I  mean sure definitely some bright spots on D but this offense is sluggish at best.

Some bright spot on D, what the hell are you watching?  They held Northwest to 0 yards in the second half, and we have two turnovers.
