  1. Bugeater,

There were many problems with Frank and Mr. Pederson. I am not a fan of Mr. Pederson either. But the key thing that got Frank fired was his in your face refusal to place recruiting as a number one priority. Pederson being the prior recruting coordinator felt we were failing badly in that department. I don't know that he felt the need to change the offense/program as a priority. I thnk BC was going to coach the way he knew and not adopt a new offense for him. Logical I guess.

But changing things as they were, left a lot of problems for a new head coach. I am not totally happy with the game day play calling but I was not at all happy with the past staff. I think BC has the ability to learn and has the ability to do it.

Frank may have had the ability but it would never have been accepted by the fan base. But he failed to bring in anyone who could run the offense and that is a recruiting issue. He failed there on the offensive side I think.

    Skersfan,

I'm not arguing with you and I don't think BC should get fired but after reading your post I chuckled because now we have a coach that can recruit but we still have the same problem, the game-plan and execution on game day is not there.

I think over time BC can learn these things.

I mean as long as it took TO to learn these things I would say BC is headed in the right direction.

    :yeah

  2. With his even better speed and equal grit, Marlon does atleast all that Bjax can.

If that was the case, then Lucky wouldve been the starter all year long instead of Jackson taking it over at the start of conference play.

it is difficult to project who is gonna be who using only one game as a measuring stick, especially when one is injured and used sparringly, and the other is the only option there is.

still. i dunno if we were watching the same game. Granted, the Auburn defense was great, but out of the 25 rushes Lucky had, he was dropped for a loss 8 times. Lucky's longest run was 10 yards. Overall net was around 88 yards on the ground with an average of 3.5 ypc. Lucky made a pretty big impact in the passing game, gaining the most yardage of any other reciever by catching 6 passes for 67 yards, no TD's, with a long of 19.

BJax only had 7 carries, but one of those went for 20 yards and a touchdown. BJax only caught two passes for negative 6 yards. not very amazing, but i dont know who couldve done better while nursing a broken hand.

  3. ahh mucho refreshing.

"Santa" gave me some husker boxer shorts, a black husker sweatshirt, and a cooler with a big red N on it that plays our fight song everytime you open it.

I also got this neat little bottle opener. It is rather large, but it has this neat mechanism that pops the bottlecap off and there is a magnet on the end that holds the cap for proper disposal.

  4. While I love Jackson, I don't think he does as much for our offense as Lucky does and can. BJax is a base back that runs between the tackles and occasionally outside. As seen yesterday, Lucky can go up the middle, get the corner on a sweep, and be a threat with screens and swing passes. I look for Lucky to take over the job next year.

i strongly disagree, and here is why.

Oct. 21st, NU vs Texas. Bjax catches the ball and goes 49 or 51 yards for a touchdown, breaking a bunch of tackles along the way.

Hypothetical: if you put lucky in there instead of BJax, do you think he goes the distance just like BJax did? after breaking at least 2 tackles? and still had the juice to outrun all the other defenders?

    Doesnt happen.

  5. BJax = pro. I've heard rumors that he is considering going pro. Some scouts have projected him a first day pick, maybe the 3rd or 4th round

i hope not. Lucky cant carry the load, Wilson has fumblitis, and some people still dont believe in Cody Glenn.

that leaves Cody Glenn, and this year showed us that we need more than one RB to handle the load due to injuries etc.

i admit, i am biased. i think our 2-deep at RB should look be BJax-Glenn. I just love their toughness and their INABILITY to go down without a fight.

  6. next year will be the defining year of the Callahan era. We have the schedule, Callahan's players will be veterans in the system, we will have the QB that can make all the throws.

I just hope our O-line continues to improve. I think the coaches need to continue to put a lot of emphasis on this area of the game.

Another area is SPECIAL TEAMS. especially the punt return. really need to work on that. and for god sakes dont let a member of the secondary return kicks, we are still shaky there and one injury could make our 07 secondary look like the 06 version.

  7. Hopefully the weather will be extremly cold for this one.

Unfortunately, probably not on September 15th.

if i recall correctly the weather still climbs up there on the thermometer here in september. it still hasnt snowed here in Omaha once this winter. been pretty warm IMO

  8. Holy moly it's snowing like crazy here in Longmont Colorado and all over the front range!!!! Blizzard conditions. Looks like we will be having a white christmas! Expecting anywhere from 12-24" along the front range. Looks like the hubby can finally use his 4-wheeler and plow!! He'll be happy!

Just thought I would share the weather forcast with all of you.

it was raining pretty good a few hours ago in Omaha. Kind of weird, rain in mid-december. my grass in my lawn is turning green again.

Sorry to say it buddy, but you had a small error in there, it's okay though, i fixed it for ya'. Funny how one small phrase can make the whole program wrong!

  10. is that the story where the pigs become leaders of the farm, only to start walking on two legs wearing clothes. They also trade in "Boxer" the strong horse that helped them build up the farm? My memory is fuzzy because I think that was English Freshman year, but didn't they send him to the glue factory for a case of booze? Wasn't it supposed to represent something about the Russian Revolution? Snowball being chased out, only to replace one dictator with another? :hmmph

    thats the one.
