  1. I just wanted to comment on the OU thing, they have had question marks on the o-line the past 3 seasons, but somehow that bloody Sooner Magic always prevails. By the end of the season their o-line seems to be one of the better parts of their team. Maybe this will be the year. Who knows.

  2. i cant believe any of you are surprised. They make fun of Brook, who was one of their own! They cant win on the field, so they have to try to win at something. they are like a gang of 8 year olds who sit in the back of the classroom basking in their self-proclaimed "elite" status, talking loudly as if what they are saying is gospel. f#*k em, outside of of their little bubbles, they are perceived as trash that isnt even recyclable. I feel sorry for the good KSU fans out there. They do exist, like dragons and gryphons.

  3. Maybe he can be the 'BJ' from last year...after all, nobody really thought Jackson was going to step it up like he did. Go Cody!

i did. you can even look up my posts. I think Cody can be something special. he just needs to shake the injury bug and work on his pass protection and he will be da man.

  4. I agree with pigsonthewing.

Baron Miles was 5'8" and an awesome corner. Size is important, but not everything. Grixby got beat several times last year because he was matched up with the opponents' #1 receiver game in and game out. Why? Because he was the best corner that there was! If you get a chance to, watch some of last season's games again and really watch Grixby. He made some damn fine plays and played solid in run support defense. Jones got schooled last year way too much going against top receivers(see Sweed running past him for a TD and Jarrett making him look absolutely silly). With that said, I think Jones ends up having a fine season this year due to his trials and tribulations last year.

I think that stating Thenarse should have started based on his athletic ability is a misled statement. Yeah, Thenarse would have had it rough and improved, but how many close games would he have cost the teams? If you think Callahan's hide is on the line for going 9-5, what do you think a 7-6 or 6-6 season would have done? KU and A&M could have been different stories with just 2 misplays by an inexperienced corner.

as you were typing this, i was lookin up barron miles Stats and receivers that he locked down. lol you da man! Guess how much Barron Miles weighed? 160. one-friggin-sixty. but the difference between Grixby and Miles? Miles had safeties and a couple of backups.

Safeties may be a contributing factor, but the real difference between Grixby and Miles is talent. You are correct about the size of NFL corners, being shorter gives you a lower center of gravity and helps you react to a WR and change directions with him. BUT! You need to also have the ability and a knack for it, being short, fast, and experienced doesnt make you good. Thats why I'm not a Grixby fan, I respect his work ethic and attitude, but I dont think he is at the level we need him to be to compete on a national level.

its very difficult to play at a high level when you are playing every down. i disagree with almost everything you say because raw talent doesnt make you good. you need experience. look at dre jones. he is even quoted that he got by on his talent last year and he didnt know what he was doing. Experience counts, big time. Safety may be a contributing factor? wow cmon. i guess ill just have to agree to disagree. i hope the coaches see it my way as well.

you guys throw all this emphasis on height. you guys are gonna sh#t yourselves when you see our DB's of the future in Sullivan and Blue, etc, who are about the same size as Grixby.

  6. If height is such a disadvantage, why is the average DB in the nfl right around 5'9''-5'10''? You dont see every college team with 6'2'' DB's. you dont see a whole lot of em in the nfl, either.

what part of this equation does everyone not understand? Look at grix's situation.

NO safety help. You have to run with these receivers EVERY down. And there were no reliable backups to give you a break. And in those games against Auburn, USC, OU, etc, was our offense moving the ball and giving the defense a breather? were we putting up points? no.

all this ties into it. look at the bigger picture here.

  7. Sigh. :madash

Grixby is athletically freakish. he has great wheels, great hips, and a friggin 3'8'' vertical. But he also had to play EVERY DOWN last year. Dont tell me that wont affect ANYONE's performance.

Even in the pros the best CB's get beat quite a bit. But one responsibility the safety position holds is to help the CB. When your safety play is horrendous, your CB's will be on an island all alone, which is such the case last year. With improved safety play, the CB's wont be torched as much this year. Count on it.

  8. no worries. this is the same "analyst" that said USC would hang 40 on us last year. the same analyst who said Texas would hang 40 on us. The same analyst who said Auburn would hang 40 on us. he wouldnt know his feet from his dick if his momma didnt put labels on them.

  9. I love this game but I ran into a pretty big problem yesterday, I am just finishing my first season and was set to play OU in the CCG, but when the game started up even though the commentary said we were in the Alamodome, and the stadium name on the opening weather screen said Alamodome we weren't at the Alamodome, but infact were at DKR for some reason... I ended the game and restarted and got the same thing... did they screw up something here or is something wrong with my game?

its that way on the xbox360 version. its fubar.

As far as the interception rate goes, i was throwing a lot of picks, but then i stopped throwing INTO coverage. hit the open receiver or rb in the flats. i find myself throwing to the TE's and FB's, and now i barely throw interceptions.
