  1. The Big XII needs to stay alive. We can not go to the Little Eleven. We are not that culturally/geographically connected with any of the little eleven schools outside of iowa (granted, iowa city is on the east side of the state). the Little Eleven "prides" itself on being "Research Institutions," and would never recognize NU as such. whatever. another day.

CU, yeah there has been talk, but when you think about it it does make a little sense because it does seem to be culturally on-par with the west coast. thats just my perception, and i am by no means an expert on Colorado culture. i just go ski like everybody else. Also, CU is the only Big XII school that isnt in the Central Time Zone. if that makes any big difference, i leave that judgment to you. But CU has to go IMO. they are broke and have the minimal NCAA Division 1 Sports. They are the black sheep of the conference.

Baylor is a good school for things outside of Football. From a football standpoint, it might be a good idea to pick up a team that has had a little more success in recent years. But this isnt fantasy football league where you can just form conferences on a whim. Baylor is a strong baseball school at least. Keep em around.

Lets say the Big XII drops CU, and picks up another school located in the south. who would it be? Wont be Arkansas, too much $$$ in the SEC. Im not sure, but if it was a school like TCU, or a school that is further south than Stillwater OK, you would have to assume the divisions would look something like this

    North:

NU, OSU, MU, KU, KSU, ISU

    South:

UT, aTm, BU, OU, Tech, (New School here)

  2. id like to play 2 top tier schools and have 2 cupcakes. You dont want to beat yourself up playing 4 top tier schools and go into conference play injured and tired. But you dont want to play all cupcakes either, otherwise you could roll into conference play and lose to someone you shouldnt because your team wasnt prepared for the speed and talent of the Big XII. Moderation is the key.

  3. I agree that he hasnt shown us much... I think Andre Jones had just as good of a season and Bowman did his first year here. Andre just didnt have the safety help.

exactly. but you have to tip your hat to bowman, he played very well in the CU game and the Alamo Bowl in 05.

After watching Murillo in the spring game, i think we might not be as bad depth wise at CB. Im just hoping Zack can come back and contribute. I dont expect him to be "lights out" if he does come back.

  4. suprised Jimmy clausen isn't number one.......he's notre dame........right????

No kidding. Who missed the boat on this one? :sarcasm

Yup, somebody's going to hear about this oversight. :sarcasm

last i checked, zoo animals, specifically ostriches, dont count.

  5. A bit expensive? Do tell me more!!!

if it isnt free, its expensive...

but if you ran your bar that way i dont think you'd be in business very long

    ;)

anyways. we all need to lighten up. Its happened. All the bitching and breaking down the story so you can get the "facts" isnt gonna change it. we will never know the true story, just people's perspectives. The real questions are; 1. what type of precedent will this set for the rest of the callahan era, 2. what will this do to the depth chart.

  6. We are definetly going to beat Wake. This will be more of a home game than a road game with the amount of Husker fans going to be at this game.

    good reasons..

Sure we won by 28 points in 05, but that was because our defense put 21 of those points on the board. We need to come out early and smack em in the mouth. i hope our offense is firing on all cylinders. This will be a true test of our defense before USC.

  7. Ive been in the dumps since 1998, when Frank Solich took over. this is a ten year depression ive been dealin with! gettin better though. I'll be cured once we get back into the BCS picture. Good luck to the trojans in 07, but not too much luck on Sept. 15th please.

  8. Where did you get "week"??

I read it was the same night. :hmmph

    http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=1200&u_sid=2379207

Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs said the incident stemmed from the man refusing entry to one of Purify's friends a week earlier at the Brass Rail, where the man was working as a doorman. The man was sitting with friends at The Alley on Saturday night when spotted by Purify just before midnight. The victim suffered a cut lip, police said.

Now that I re-read that, it sounds like he just happened to run across the same guy, he didn't go looking for him. He still should've known better.

Police say Purify and a friend were denied admittance by a doorman at a Lincoln bar Saturday night.

Later Saturday night, at a different bar, the Alley Bar, 1031 M Street, police say Purify saw the same doorman and confronted him.

So we have conflicting reports?? :hmmph

But either way...I'm guessing this is how it went down.

The doorman/bouncer refused Mo's boy. Mo...plays some sort of "do you know who I am" card. "He's with me."

An argument escalates and word's get exchanged and the bouncer might of said something that Mo didn't like. Since most of the time, bars just hire any muscle meathead as their bouncer. <_< And they don't know how to handle certain situations.

Mo saw him later on and said "Remember when you said this??" and then punches were thrown.

or you could just not believe everything that is written in the press. Reporters have their own perspective, even though they are supposed to be as neutral as possible, thats just not gonna happen. We are human.

  9. IMO, Todd Peterson is going to emerge as the next best WR after Purify. He's tall, gets open, and catches the ball well. He's also going to be overlooked early with Purify, Nunn, and Swift getting the attention.

I concur. Everyone overlooks Peterson because he was a walk-on, a WR from NE, didnt have 4 stars from Rivals. I call shenanigans. This guy has been clutch and catches the ball damned near everytime it was thrown to him. Tall and strong, also is one of the better blocking WR's we have.

Dont forget about Erickson either. IIRC, he had a couple of CLUTCH catches during the A&M game to keep that winning drive alive.

  10. Austin Stafford- LB- Might play late game of Special Teams, probably Redshirt.

I dont know where they'll end up, but Stafford better not cut his hair. Everyone needs a Predator on defense that can hit.

    ROFL!

    "runnnn.....gooooooo....get to da chopperrrrr!"
