  1. wow this thread sounds like high school, just like the ASU camp last year. sh#t high school would be too flattering, this sounds like junior high/middle school sh#t.

USC and OU pays their athletes (and gets away with it) and one of our scholarship QB's throws a paper cup at a car, then goes and picks it up, and then throws it into the trash bin, and then gets a minor citation, and everybody freaks out and writes paragraphs about behavior and how we are doomed because keller is a bad apple. :hellloooo

man good thing you guys dont know what else athletes get away with, at UNL and any other university. :dumdum

  2. I dont know what else they can say really. They certianly are not going to pick apart players in the media, and with as wide open as they make the starting jobs, they have to remain unbiased there too. I think the main reason we get these answers, is there really isnt anything to talk about.

I am sure we would love to hear how every drill went for the QBs and which ones Ganz or Keller were better at, but it isnt really our buisness, and isnt fair to the players. For them to really get the most out of practice, it is better if we dont hear every little thing. I couldnt imagine the kind of added pressure that would put on them.

good points there, and we know what happens when a player rips apart his teammates to the media, it has happened before. look at the nfl in 06. T.O., Michael Strahan, etc. its just bad news, either way you look at it.

  3. he was promised, make no mistake about that, his dad knows cally well and he is a proven commodity, unlike Beck or Freeman. like i said, done deal unless something really odd happens.

Oh, sorry. I'm relatively new to this board and didn't realize that you are omniscient. <_<

if you followed the story from last fall, it is not too hard to understand

I did follow the story. I don't have any problem believing Keller (and his father) strongly believed he would be the starter. Too much at stake for them to not go some place where he could improve his stock for the NFL. Just don't think anyone can say with certainty that Bill Callahan said, "Sam, if you come to Nebraska, you will be the starter regardless of who you are competing against" (or words to that effect). What motivation is there to improve yourself if you know the job is yours? Why would Callahan remove that motivation and risk having something less than Keller's best?

preach on Preacher. When you say "too much at stake," immediately i think of Callahan's job, or even his staff's jobs.

All I have to say is that, whoever wins the bloody job better f'ing perform or everybody's ass is hanging over an open flame. We dont need another ASU situation spawning here at NEBRASKA or else we are in a world of hurt.

  4. ESPN had lil red voted as one of the best in the country just last year. To each their own...inflatable mascot.

i thought that was herbie, in the capital one mascot competition.

which, incidentally, herbie was not invited back into the competition in 06.

  5. Just think of how things would have been different if we had beat Texas last year, or even Oklahoma or Auburn. That would have been the signature win(s) we've all been waiting for. That would have put a lot of doubters of the current system to bed. We'll get that win, and I believe 07 will be our year!

i think about this all the time too. It would've given our guys the confidence they needed to put away the higher ranked teams.

quite frankly, i dont give a sh#t who believes in the system and who doesn't. Its here, the coaches are here, and unless you're the AD or in some other position of authority at the university, there is not a damned thing you can do about it.

This will be our year. The time is now. I havent been this excited since last spring, and prior to that, was the 97 season.

  6. Call me a skeptic, but I DON'T BUY IT !!!!

    rightfully so.

I am very proud of him for not dragging NU through the mud......if he is leaving NU because of any ohter reason, he left with a LOT OF CLASS, and as a fan, I really appreciate that....So, Good Luck to Chris..

I am just not sold that everything was "great" for him here !!!!

true enough. he was going to have his eligibility stripped by the NCAA anyways. this is his best option.

  7. Alright, False alarm.

Carriker got caught in a meeting and could get out.

So, ESPN is rescheduling the chat for tomorrow 2/28 at 12:00 PM.

Yeah, Carriker ran a 4.14 20 yard shuttle. I think Robinson from Texas ran a 4.10.

    wrong.

that guy from texas had a 4.32. carriker was 4.18, per nfl.com

  8. haha... I love it.

I don't consider tatoos to be "trendy" or the "in" thing to do.

They are an expression & extension of yourself. They are part of who you are.

Now, if you got a barbed wire tatoo around your neck because everyone else did,

    then that's a little stupid.

If they have meaning, that's what makes them special.

    i agree.

however, i look at it this way. tats' are an extension of the person who you are at that moment. people change, and later on down the road, you probably will not be that same person and the tat's meaning and purpose will no longer apply to who you are now.

Will that happen with a husker tat? probably not, unless you suddenly switch loyalties.

  9. Lucky is coming back -FACT (as of right now he is)

Lucky will get a majority of the carries (barring Injury) - FACT (opinion. we havent even gone through spring ball)

Lucky will have a monster (Breakout) year because he is that good - FACT (again, opinion, some people dont see it the way you do)

We will see mainly 2 RB Lucky and Glenn (Goalline and Short yardage) - I THINK FACT (starting to sound like a broken record)

Wilson will Redshirt, Lucky will be gone after next year, Wilson will be the man the following year and will be considered one of the best ever here (He has that ability) - I HOPE FACT (really stretching here)

I dont personally think our RB situation is dire, i think it is improved. 4 RB is too many. BJax is gone and was good but Lucky is Better and will shine with a majority of the carries. (if this is fact, lucky wouldve held the starting job all year instead of losing it to B-Jax)

Should Lucky get hurt then i think you'll see Wilson's redshirt pulled and he and Glenn will get the carries. However, should Glenn get hurt i think Wilson will stay redshirted and Castille or Helu will get the short yardage and goalline carries. (you've lost me.)

  10. well maybe this is the opening that Sanders needed to get back on the NU staff
You really think he'd come back?

didnt he leave before Callahan became coach?

if he did then there would be a good chance, but if Callahan let him go, then i doubt it

Callahan chose not to retain coach sanders when frank the tank was fired.
