  1. its possible utahhusker but improbable. dont forget texas has some pretty good running backs, selvin young and jamaal charles. if texas can control the ball(which they can, they have 3 very good runners, v.young, s.young, and j.charles) and use up the clock texas wins.

v.young's emergance as an effective passer will help them strike quickly and jump to an early lead.

USC is going to run a lot of play action with bush and i just hope texas doesnt bite too hard and give up points too fast too early. that was oklahoma's downfall last year.

  2. the man can change his mind but he has already told the media and his coach that he will be back next year. safe to say we will be facing Vince Young next year.

BTW, USC will not win their third in a row championship. texas D is unlike anything fresno state and notre dame have and USC almost lost to these two teams. USC is going down! hurts to say this.. hook em horns.

  3. This topic has sure brought a lot of comments considering all Pederson has done so far is fire the football coach. If you travel 50 miles either side of this state you would see the Football team hasn't returned to any national prominence. Time will tell if this guy has any vision or not. The fact that he can't get people to contribute to a building that Osborne wasn't even sure he wanted his name on shows that many people are not ready to blindly follow this guy.

unless his name is Frank "the tank" Solich.

  4. so in '03 when we lost to kansas state frank didnt get outcoached outmanned etc?  by UT?  by Mizzou?

I guess its better than getting beat 40-15 by KU, or getting beat by S Miss.

It happened 3 times in 03, 6 times last year by some not so good teams.

Besides, it was just the NEW assistants first year. They hadnt even been there ONE year, they needed time.........

ok so what was it for 04 again? their first year... then how do you explain '02?

  5. good stuff. since young wont be leaving (with leinart and bush going, his draft status would be considerably lower and cost him maybe millions) texas is going to be pretty tough next year. but its nice to see that we will have experience and poise coming back. next year is lookin tough (USC, Texas) but we will be better prepared than if we would have faced these teams this year.

  6. i disagree with a lot of statements saying that our coaches cant develop talent, i mean look at nate swift, corey mckeon, grix, our freshman on the o-line etc. i'd say they have developed some players that nobody said had talent.

if frank the tank's previous staff had actually gone out and recruited instead of sitting in their office expecting nebraska's name to draw recruits we wouldnt be having the depth problems we have today, which in turn makes our current staff look bad to some of you. then frank the tank got rid of those assistants and brought in new ones who werent given a fair chance to show what they could do recruiting wise and coaching wise. but there were things going on behind the scenes that got frank the tank fired. i have heard rumors that there were affairs, alcohol, and other inappropriate actions going on.

true or not, they are gone now and this argument is getting older than father time himself. some of you may not like coach callahan and this staff. cant please everybody. when you say they are changing the traditions of nebraska football, well, i thought our tradition was winning. now you are going to say "well we havent won that much since callahan and co. took over." i say if frank the tank was still at the helm he would have lost a lot of games last year and lost games this year as well. see the first sentence of the previous paragraph. Callahan and Co. can recruit and can develop talent. its only a matter of time (next year) that we will see the fruits of their labor.

  7. wow guys dont let these trolls sidetrack every single thread. i know i know that they come onto our board and start talkin smack and we feel obligated to defend our football team but enough is enough. dont feed the trolls.

  8. well if there are any spots left on our current recruiting class im sure it would put an exclamation point on our football team and perhaps sway some recruits back to Nebraska. I believe Michigan has the most to lose. After complaining about facing us in the Alamo Bowl and then losing to a 7-4 Husker squad would probably be the downfall of Lloyd Carr. which wouldnt be a bad thing according to some of the UM fans that have been posting lately.

  9. well these kids cant play football forever and some will want to go into business after their career is over. a good education and a degree will help you find a job and get a better paycheck. i care about our record setting academic all-americans and its another good selling point to how wonderful our university is. sometimes you hear about ex-football players coming back to school after their career is over to finish up their degree if they went pro before graduating.

  10. im just happy the coaches arent ignoring our own backyard and taking nebraska's top talent.

i dont put too much faith into those stars and stuff. i trust in the coaches' ability to evaluate talent. if they offer a kid that means he's gotta have a little talent regardless of what rivals or scout says.

  11. just finished watching his only video clip at rivals.com and this guy is impressive. took 2 guys to bring him down everytime. has great speed.. this guy will be exciting to watch next year... this is going to be another long offseason..
