All he had to do was not commit sexual assault twice and he stays.

    He didn't commit sexual assault.

Pleading exposing yourself twice down to indecency then. Semanticsboard lives!

I still don't want him back.

He didn't need to plead it down. None of his actions were first, second, or third degree sexual assault in Nebraska. It is not semantics, it is the law. You are are improperly applying it and accusing a former Husker player of a crime he didn't commit.

a lot of the law is a matter of semantics. what do you think is being argued in so many appellate cases?

  2. Bend but don't break, what a pathetic way to play defense.

i agree. but watching oregon against fsu, it was pretty impressive. once they got to the redzone, they locked down.

and i was a bit leery about banker, but then i remember that compared to our recent defenses it will be hard to do worse. and that after the nw game in 2013 when the coaches let the players do what they wanted at halftime and they just played more aggressive, and that is when our defense looked decent; well banker should be able to put a pretty good product on the field if he just stays our of his own way.

I don't know what is worst. The incoherent trash you just spewed or someone actually +1 what you said. Whatever dude, get off your soap box. Your faith is far from perfect my friend.

I'd like to make it coherent for you. I'm sorry for coming across poorly - I think your reasoning for yourself is inconsistent and am curious what actually lies at the heart of it.

Nothing lies at the heart of it. I have many reasons why I believe in not believing which may be why I seem inconsistent.

life's a journey. create your own value system. don't let anyone indoctrinate you.

I don't care what his "disadvantages" were. He had losing seasons in 3 of his last 5 years and lost to two FCS schools. That he is not highly regarded as someone to become the head coach at the University of Nebraska is hardly surprising.

    Thank you.
Not examining the whole situation usually makes one look the fool.

After all, The Sker was all too eager to point what disadvantages the previous coach had to deal with.

I've not claimed Pelini had any disadvantages......nor do I have any concern for Pelini. I'm sure he's doing just fine in Ohio on a predominantly Nebraska paid salary.
eichorst was willing to pay a lot to get rid of bo. and now he has his guy in riley.
  5. Our new coach doesn't have to.....neither does Osborne. That's the point. But to say a big deal hasn't been made out of the past is incorrect.....thus the e-mail Riley sent out to former players right after his hire. But yet he and Osborne haven't had a "chance" to speak in over a month? Ok.......

all that matters is that eichorst was able to get ahold of riley when he needed to and now he is the head coach.

He's only not highly regarded by those afflicted with acute butthurt.

While I can appreciate your tact in the use of the word "butthurt", I didn't write the article.......which certainly doesn't hold Riley in high regard for what he, and others, think Nebraska should be able to do.
he was who shawn eichorst wanted.
  7. Getting the best recruits possible by talking up your conference is hardly stealing. It's not a matter of pride, it's a matter of what it takes to sell the kid. I have no problem saying "Hey you can play in a league that beat Alabama in the playoffs."

that is why there is the "sec mystique." all season the sec is overrated, until they are beat. then it is, "look how good we are! we beat that overrated conference."

  8. Jim Harbaugh went to Michigan. Urban Meyer went to Ohio State. In my opinion, the alma mater card was the tipping point for both of these guys. Money certainly must be right, but I don't think Harbaugh would've gone just anywhere, and same for Meyer. If any of you can name a hot name proven head coach that just happens to be a Nebraska alum, let me know, and I'll join you in crucifying the administration for being cheap.

this. exactly this. and who does um get if harbaugh turns them down? neb. got a great fit. that is the best we can hope for until frost becomes an elite hc.

Back in the day PO Pears used to be a good place to go huntin'. You could usually bag a nice sized one.

  10. tried the alaskan brewing's smoked porter and rogue chocolate stout over the weekend. both were very good. really enjoyed that smoked porter, unique flavor and pretty delicious.

picked up a few beers i am very excited to try:

    ska brewing rudie session ipa

    breckenridge avalanche

    odell's levity

i got those because i have been drinking a lot of heavy stouts and porters and wanted something lighter that i could drink over a longer period.

but i still could not resist getting breckenridge's vanilla porter and tallgrass' buffalo sweat vanilla bean. both of those are extremely solid with really good flavor. i particularly like the vanilla bean for the coffee notes.

a friend of mine also gave me a bottle of the boulevard/odell silver anniversary ale. i think that will be pretty solid.

should be ready for the NYE celebration.

I'm expecting at least 8 wins but I'm not going to pigeon hole this staff in year one

Urban Meyer chose Ohio State because he knew he could win with the talent and resources there. His first media days as Ohio State coach included a challenge to every other B1G coach to pick up their recruiting. Michigan isn't chasing Harbaugh looking for a transition time......they want someone they believe can go head to head with Urban Meyer next season. Florida didn't hire McElwain to not win right away. Is the Nebraska hire of Mike Riley different?
    yes.

Z potter, p Allen, ty steinkuler, ty wortman, Blake Lawrence, aramndo murillo, Anthony west, and Rickey thenarse. Don't think that as a starting line up is in the stratosphere of our 90s teams. Sure Suh, Dillard and asante were pretty salty.

    Not sure if serious?

    DL Suh, Crick, Turner, Allen

    LB Dillard, Compton, Fisher

DB Amukamara, Hagg, Asante, O'Hanlon, Dennard

That is your 2009 defense that inherited from Callahan

Yep.....apparently not all coaches need a transition year.

    Sensing sarcasm right?

we will see how bo does at ysu.

Unless you were in the coaching room and on the sidelines Saturdays and regardless of what your name is, what you posted in another thread, or what an ex player said....there is no way to prove that Paps either called or didn't call plays on the sideline.

So stop the conjecture and lies. It's ignorant and the coach is out of here soon where he'll go to another school and either not call or call plays. Time to move on with dignity like he is doing (since he's not trashing the program or anyone else on the way out like you all seem to want to do to him)

It's not conjecture at all, though. We don't have to be in the meeting rooms to see, plain as day, Pelini was calling the plays on the sideline and JP wasn't.

at this point, it is hard to substantiate that anyone was calling plays at all. there is just no evidence, only conjecture and logical fallacies.
    Do defenses actually run plays?

maybe, maybe not. the burden of proof is too high for anyone to have ever proved it one way or another.
