  1. haha yeah I agree. Johnson is going to be a force. I am looking forward to their game against Arkansas. Two probable top 5 QBs and two probable bad defenses should be fun to watch. And yeah I think Ubben just lost any credibility he had with that pick of Gilbert as the #1 player in the conference. What a joke.

Edit: well it seems i've been had. Very funny Ubben.

  2. I saw this today on his Big 12 blog, "SPOILER ALERT: No. 1 on the Big 12's top 25 list: Garrett Gilbert. "

After writing this, "Remember, this isn't a list of the top-25 NFL prospects in the league. It's heavily weighted toward players' actual accomplishments in their college careers, as well as their likely impact on their teams in the 2010 season.", he still selects Gilbert as the #1 player in the Big 12? I find this very hard to believe. I'm not saying he's not a good quarterback, but I wouldn't even rank him as the #1 quarterback in the Big 12.

  3. Owamagbe Odighizwa, National Signing Day’s tongue twister, is tight-lipped about his choice of schools between Oregon State, Nebraska and UCLA.

But is Nebraska the choice for the 5-star defensive end from Portland?

All were left to do is speculate, put two and two together to come up with 5-star in these 24 hours before Signing Day. But here’s a tweet from a reputable newspaperman, Paul Buker of the Oregonian, who likewise is speculating on Odighizuwa’s intentions:

@pnbuker: Is Odighizuwa Nebraska-bound? Well, the paper in Omaha is sending a writer to cover kid's announcement at David Douglas HS, so ....

Newspapers being what they are today, typically in penny-pinching, cut-cut-cut mode, you wouldn’t think it would send a reporter on a 1,500-mile road trip unless they had pretty good information.

don't know if this was posted already. sorry if it has. the info is from this site. Don't how reputable that guy is.

  4. saw this on scout while seaching google news for anything about Owa haha

"For Tyler Moore, seeing the Husker team finish off the year in style was gratifying. After all, he’ll be a member of those Huskers next year. But it’s going to be earlier than previously planned. Moore has decided that by this time next year he’ll be firmly in Lincoln."

i like the sound of that

  5. yeah im thinking we might miss that safety play as much as we miss suh. but i guess we're gonna be 5 times better this year though, so i shouldn't worry :) definitely looking forward to seeing what ankrah can do tho.

  6. thanks everybody. the song is called Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums by A Perfect Circle. I had just heard that song a couple months ago and as soon as i did, i thought that would make the perfect music to a blackshirt video. my favorite part is at the end when suh slams that baylor qb to the ground. somehow it synced up nicely with the part in the song that goes "go back to sleep". haha i love it.

  7. I don't think i have ever looked forward to a season of college football as much as i am looking forward to this one. I became a fan by chance at the height of the husker dynasty. Didn't really pay close attention to the team until Callahan came aboard. Then for some reason i became rabid. Reading these forums and others for years for any kind of information i could glean about the team. Praising myself for knowing the two deep.

Which is why i started to become such a fan of college football in general. Terms like the two deep, and stunts, and gaps, all these aspects of the game i learned here. It made watching the game so much more enjoyable. For the first time ever, i started watching the defensive tackle position from whistle to whistle. It was amazing to watch the play develop from that perspective and to see the disruption they caused up front.

When Bo arrived i hoped he would be what most of us thought he could be. It turns out, he just might be. I cannot wait to see whats in store for the upcoming season. Pins and needles through signing day, spring practice, summer reports, fall camp and all the headlines that make the message boards go off like the 4th of July. I made this video because i am grateful for all that those guys do on and off the field and i wish them well in the upcoming season. Thank you all for the videos i borrowed from. I tried not to copy anyones effects and just get the basic clip, tho on that espn one, i couldn't help it. It looked cool. My apologies espn. Its my first attempt at one of these videos, i hope you all like it. I think i used the same clips a couple of times haha, but i am just learning the program and couldnt go back and fix it.

heres the link. i guess the video embed isnt working quite right just yet. i'll try and put it back up later.

  8. "By the time summer gets here, I'll pretty much have it down."

gotta love the guys spirit. assuming he is talking about the defense, I don't think he'll know as much as he would like to at that point, but with that attitude its hard to not see him get some good playing time, kinda like meredith last season. i believe meredith had a year under his belt but the coaches seem to really like Rome.

  9. If his heart isn't in Nebraska, then it is for the best for both teams, granted that his heart is in Arizona. I would rather the talent go to NU because they found a home there, not because someone else had already built one. Even if it is family. Regardless, enjoy football wherever it might take you.

  10. And Coach, he's a beautiful human being...." (Watson got emotionally choked up at this point for a couple seconds)

maybe its my heart giddy at the thought, but to me this speaks volumes. I sit entrenched every saturday they play in this kind of ethereal experience where it is no holds barred. Voices are heard in these hours nowhere else. Vile words sometimes. Other times not. I am torn how I feel about what watson is doing. I keep saying well hes done it everywhere else including here, just not this year, and well look what snyders done with banks and thomas this year. Granted this is all based on my limited knowledge so I try not to take my opinion to seriously.

None the less I do believe that with that quote and the fact he got choked up about it, means our team is in the calm before the storm right now. And with watson embracing our very own Ferdinand Magellan, well I don't see how we can't make it through to a brighter day.
