Actually, no, he definitely didn't get the sarcasm/tongue in cheek part of it anyway

but, hey, thanks for breaking out the shrugging omoji thingy...it's my fave :thumbs

I guess I don't notice NDJ traveling much in the sarcasm/tongue in cheek lane here the P&R section. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Decided to be literal in my response. Sorry I missed your point.

I guarantee if Biden had ever tried to run a business it would be bankrupt.

Now wait a tick, no need to go into a hypothetical here. Didn't Donald J. Trump run some businesses and have them go bankrupt?

    1. Trump Airline: Bankrupted after two years of opperation.

    2. Trump Casinos: Taj Mahal, Trump Marina, Trump Plaza all bankrupted to the tune of Billions

    3. Trump Magazine: Had a 2 year run.

    4. Trump Steaks: Less than 2 months after partnering with Sharper Image, small sales caused their demise.

    5. Trump Vodka: Two years into production, branding abandoned and 3 years later production ceased. (Here, buy this stuff I've never tried).

    6. Trump Mortgage: Started in 2006. Shuddered in 2007. Blamed executive team he hired (The Best People) even though some should have never held the positions they did to begin with.

I know there are more examples, but I think you get the point. He's good at branding. Not so good on the other aspects of business.

    Spoiler

They have this amazingly powerful tech, but realize while it would make them all millionaires, it would lead to the end of the world. Thus needed to be destroyed. That show was another Mike Judge masterpiece.

Actually the worst thing you can find on you after a visit to strip club is an ATM receipt. That means you spent all your cash. And then went and got more.

please tell me you understand that China isn’t paying the tariffs.

I feel like this was discussed in my 100 level econ class. Things like protectionist style tarrifs always end up hurting those that impose them. In the end, those increase in costs to import are paid by the end consumer, not the importing company/country. But this was 18 years ago, so my memory may be a bit fuzzy.

I don't know that you should view her as any kind of victim in their relationship. She knew what she was signing up for when she married him. She may not be as vocal, but things she has done or said lead me to believe her and Don are cut from the same cloth.

  7. Heard the sports guys on 1620 talking about this article that is sourced from a Freedom of Information Act request. This looks...not great for our neighbors to the east. Especially since this FoIA request is from a previous study, not from the current investigation into the football team from a law firm in Kansas City.

This latest information shows that Ferentz knew well before the June social media storm that Black players felt they were:

    • Expected to conform to White culture
    • Subjected to verbal harassment
    • Targeted for extra drug testing
    • Misled about resources available to them during the recruiting process
    • Subjected to inequitable discipline policies and double standards
    • Misunderstood by both coaches and White player
    • Unsupported in their academic pursuits

Serious question. What is he supposed to "do" about it. What have the other coalition forces leaders "done" about it, since they were included also...?

I think another thing that is to consider not trying to get Russia back involved in a G7 summit. Inviting a country who actively was proxy killing your soldiers to come visit and meet with allies seems willfully ignorant at best, treasonous at worst.

Jon Stewart on Biden. Worth your time.

I really miss Jon Stewart. Sure he was a comedian who attacked the right far more than the left. But he was also a thinker. Someone who had a good mind and understood humanity. It seems like lots of these satirists were great thinkers. He makes a great point about how people who have experienced tragedy have a humility about them. To understand and empathize with others is something we should want in a leader. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any random tragedy that Trump has had to endure. While that is a great thing for him personally, it has handicapped his personality.

If you hate Trump...you don't want to see this.

I'm not a fan of Trump, but in what way is this bad? People getting back to work or 401k's recovering is a good thing for the country. I've never understood the whole "nose despite your face" mentality. Root for America as a whole to succeed. Not everyone's voting decisions are tied to those two metrics.

That quid pro quo would be very believable under the Obama-Biden justice department.  They might send FBI agents to talk to him under false pretenses trying to set perjury traps.  However Barr doesn't appear to operate that way and there is little chance a request for a search warrant went through without his knowledge and approval.

I'm assuming you are referring to Flynn and his charges for lying to the FBI. What part of Flynn's false testimony isn't relevant to what the FBI was questioning him about? A perjury trap is usually acceptable so long as the subject is being questioned about a relevant topic. If it wasn't acceptable practice, it would by default, condone perjury. That's why "Pleading the 5th" is a protected right. He didn't need to lie, he chose to, then admitted to doing it when he plead guilty to it.

Get this guy a schollie. For someone to be able to make that big of a leap, he's got to have some serious explosiveness. Someone check his 40 time and standing broad jump numbers.

Do you trust trump's 'instincts' as to when the economy should be reopened. :dunno........

    I don't either.

Remember this is the same guy who has all of his smart intelligence guys, intelligent military guys and yet he is smarter than them all.  Obviously he didn't listen to the warnings in January because he knew better. Now we are to trust him to rely on his instincts. Translation: if his reelection and his business affairs are suffering, then his instincts will tell him to reopen the economy - regardless of what the smart guys in the room say.

I don't know why, but whenever I think about Trump "Reopening" the economy, I get a Michael Scott bankruptcy declaration vibe. Like He's just going to come on TV one day and announce we are back open. Like "There, I said it so now it's back on".

The stock market doesn't really work that way but good luck with your investment

Hey man, in 2009 I really liked Call of Duty. It was made by Activision (ATVI). Had some savings I wanted to play with. My wife was pissed at me for playing video games and investing in them. Something along the same critique "Just because you like the video game doesn't mean it's good investment. No matter how many copies they sell of that stupid game." Joke was on her. Sold it for just over a 500% gain thanks to their micro transaction business model. Then she said it was "our money". Joke's on me.

I don't usually watch these awards shows because I almost never feel I have a dog in the fight...But...I did find myself wondering what it means when some of the politicians applaud every time the POTUS takes a 10-second break and others sit on their hands and make mean faces. Is this just to show approval/disapproval? Some of the things Trump said were pretty much what I would expect everyone would like..Like better education, healthcare, etc...I kept wondering if Kaitlyn...er..Nancy is against these.

As a parent with a child who has a lifelong illness, I worry about the protections put into place with the ACA/Obamacare for pre-existing conditions. Trump has tried hard to eliminate those protections. When he mentioned his accomplishments in regards to health care, I know from my watching this topic intently, he was lying. Actions>Words.
