  1. I want to attend this year and would love to take my son (5) and daughter (9) to the game as well. I understand that kids get in free. When I buy tickets online for my wife and I how do I account for my kids? Do I need to buy 4 tickets and look for a kids option?

  2. Damnit, I hate rumors like this and the speculation that comes with them but...

I have been thinking about Taylor's sideline behavior and the critique that he should be wearing a headset. Maybe the coaches don't want the kid in the loop because he is not going to be a part of the program anymore? Why let him in on the play calling if he is just going to leave?

Again, I take all these rumors with a grain of salt but damn there are just more and more all the time.

I hope the guy stays and that this is all just rampant speculation. If he does not want to be a part of the team then I say let him go. Tough to loose a talent like him but I think the kid needs to do what he wants in order to make himself happy. If he is miserable with the Huskers than I guess he needs to do what is best for him.

  3. Preface: The (legitimate) threats are despicable and totally uncalled for. It's a game people...

I do not even want to fathom what the media is going to do with this. A small minority of fans has to go overboard so the Big 12 stereotypes the entire fanbase? Expecting a murder on the field? WTF. How many other coaches etc. get hate mail? This is getting just stupid. Why not just send a rep....or just the trophy. (didn't even know there was a division trophy) Hell Suh could have presented it to us for all I care! Just a media blitz on NU to make the Big 12 look like the victim. Sadly it will most likely work.

    /facepalm

  4. According to the knapplc play-by-play (thx by the way) of the news conference today it seems like always there are two sides to this story.

Carl incident - I got lit up pretty good by mistake by a kid.

Carl saw a player in a group of people around one of our kids, and apparently when he did that he went through a camera to get to the kid, and if there was a problem Bo is sure Carl is sorry about that.

  5. Practice report: Shawn Watson happy to see 'the old Taylor'

Was he 80 percent last week? Maybe 90? Plenty of onlookers have been giving their percentages when it comes to the health of quarterback Taylor Martinez. On Wednesday, Shawn Watson lent his voice to the discussion. The Husker offensive coordinator said Martinez is now very close to 100 percent in his recovery from a sprained ankle.

"He's like old Taylor," an upbeat Watson said after practice. "It's good to have him back like he was before the injury. He's really close. I really don't notice anything with him. He's accelerating. He's making cuts on a dime. He's looked really good this week. It's like having the old Taylor back." Martinez played the entire game in Saturday's 20-3 win over Kansas but did not appear to be fully recovered from the ankle injury suffered against Missouri.

The freshman rushed 11 times for 71 yards and completed 14 of 26 passes for 167 yards with one pick in the game. Watson said it was good that the quarterback was able to throw that many passes. "Any time we have a chance to pass, I just think he gets better at it," Watson said. "He had a really nice week last week in his decision making. He made some key throws on third down. ... So he's really grasping it. He's not a done project. There's still a lot to go, but he's really come along."

Based off this article which can be found here would you believe that Taylor is 100% or close to it? Or do you just think this is a Wats/Pelini smoke screen? Personally I think no one is buying that Taylor is "100%" until he cuts and heads down field for six.

  6. I just wanted to talk about the game! Bo and company can focus on Kansas but A&M kind of turned up the heat as of late. I haven't payed much attention to them this season but the rumblings are making me take notice. Similar to the 24 unanswered 4th quarter points Kansas scored against CU!

Apologies for the premature thread. Go Huskers!!

  7. So A&M is looking a little dangerous right now and there is no way anyone can look past these guys on November 20th. Texas A&M has a win over OU and plays Baylor this week. They lost to Mizzou, Okie State and Arkansas earlier in the season. Not very many impressive wins outside of OU though. Has this team come alive late in the season? How do you think NU stacks up against A&M? Factoring in our injuries though is a must.

  8. Do we really want a more reserved Bo Pelini on the sideline? I agree that at certain times he can be a little over the top but passion is passion. I can not understand why everyone thinks we should "own" teams like ISU during our last hurrah through the Big 12 where everyone is out for blood versus NU. Have you seen the ISU Cyclonefanatic board? Those people HATE US!!! They claim that they "owned" us at home last year and that ISU beat themselves this year but refuse to even acknowledge the same is true last year in regards to the ISU win in Lincoln. If ISU had eight turnovers on Saturday the score would be what everyone thought it should be but guess what? ISU came to play and did a helluva job if you ask me. Granted we had in 3rd and Rex (4th!?) string QB's and a top defender sidelined too but I'll be damned if ISU did not play like this was their friggin' Superbowl and almost eeked out another win. The team played with heart and to win....it seemed to me at times that we just played to "not lose." CU is another team that although statistically horrible will play NU like it is the end of the world. Will it be shame on us if we don't blow them out of the water....even if T-Magic or Lee is not good to go? You can bet your ass it will be, especially in the eyes of everyone who is not a die hard NU fan.

Steering back on topic though I think Bo is just Bo and that he will continue to grow as a head coach. The guy is young as a coach and I can see where he is coming from. I have empathy for a man who has had to deal with unnecessary scrutiny in regards to NU hits, leaving the Big 12 etc. but gets no breaks on the field unless it is blatant. Bo was fired up during the Mizzou game too, just in a different way. The halftime interview that he gave during the ISU game could have been more reserved but can you blame the guy? He's doing the best he can with what he has and if at times he gets pissed, so be it. Now if he starts choking players....we have problems.
