  1. Tommy and the O-line being called out for some play since the Iowa game.

Tommy was given a game plan that was very near perfect for him. Running the ball with the occasional pass when the defense is trying to figure out how to stop the run.

O Line after Boyd Epley stated they needed to get much better. Played with a chip on their shoulders and stayed after blocks, the most aggressive I have seen them this year.

3rd quarter displayed the huskers were the more physical team on all fronts! Something to build for next year.

A consistent QB play from Tommy and a line that can give our backs some lanes to run through.

    Good job BIG RED

  2.

Not stating if I think anyone is guilty or not. I do have one question that if I heard it right I am not sure I understand.

The female mentioned that the rape happened between the hours of 2:30 sunday morning to 9:30 am. Why could she not narrow a time better down better than 7 hours?

If I misheard, please correct me.

It could have happened while she was asleep, then she woke up and figured out what happened. Or since they were at a party alcohol may have been involved.

Well I would find it very hard to believe that she was just asleep and not wake up. I could by the "passed out" theory better.

  3. Don't think my comment deserves a new thread, so this seems like a good place to put it. In the aftermath of the game I saw several Sparty players with their heads up, seeking out some Husker players and giving congratulations. That made a huge impression on me. I can see MSU becoming our Oklahoma...a team we respect but hate to lose to. I can also see Iowa becoming our Colorado....a team we just plain hate. It may not work out that way but I think we needs those kinds of rivalries in the long run to make this conference a little better all around.

If I heard it correctly we will not play Sparty for like 4 or 5 years. WHich is too bad cause I like the game, typically a great matchup.

  4. The clock stops once the ball hits someone or thing. In the Texas game, the ball hit a rail. Sat. the ball was still in flight.

Correct, that is the way I have heard the rule. Runs till it hits something or someone unless, a ref would happen to blow it dead before hitting something (which they are not suppose to do)

  5. well,

he may not be your favorite coach, but Dantonio and his players have been owning the loss, saying it was poor play, not a call(good or bad) that cost them the game...as well as many of their fans

Yes they did! I thought that was fairly classy considering the huge let down it was for them. He is a heck of a coach. We seem to always play Sparty pretty tough.

  6.

we won by 1. if we had made the 2 pt. conversion then the spartans could have sent it to OT with a FG.

I just looked up the score. You're right. Must have had too much beer. Never mind. Just close this thread.

Actually, the decision to go for two early in the fourth quarter is the one that could have killed us. If we kick that extra point, then kick the extra point after the last touchdown, we are up three and a last second FG by Mich state only ties us.

That was also the one I did not really agree with. However the wife thought that was the play. Of course we had a short discussion and left it at that. neither of us changed our thoughts on the positive and negative of going for 2 with 14 minutes left in the game. I would have kicked that one. The last 2 pointer was a no-brainer, TA just hurried his throw and did not set his feet.

  7. He has found a spot returning kicks for sure. Stevenson sucked at that.

Should get more reps at wide out next 2 games. He has played really well when given a chance. We are pretty strong at wideout.

OC is probably trying to keep receivers fresh and are they bringing the plays in at times as well?? not sure about that.

  8. The record used to have to be 6 wins against Division 1 teams. That has changed, now it depends on how many bowls your conference has contracts with. I think the Big 10 has 12 bowl spots. Crazy I know but that is what I have read. Hopefully we show up well against Rutgers and get a heck of a game with Iowa!!! GO BIG RED

Just a little odd to me: the timing of this 'visit' is nothing short of terrible if you are Mike Riley (unless he and Mike Riley and Spurrier are good buddies and he is here to offer his support and positive commentary). I would think the rumors would be running wild that Spurrier is here to replace Riley. Why even let something like this get started. An explanation is certainly in order by the AD.

Eichorst was at South Carolina as an Assistant AD when Spurrier was hired there. They have a relationship. They are probably friends. Spurrier is probably in town to watch a football game. Nothing more than that.

    This.

Why does every single move SE makes have to have a nefarious plot to it? Sometimes the ole ball coach, is just the ole ball coach, wanting to watch some football with an old friend.

  10. I may have to take my wife to more games. I normally take my son or daughter, but both were busy. It was her first game this year and maybe her 3 in 10 years. I might have to suck it up and use her as a good luck charm! Sorry, we will be out of town for the Iowa game.

Well, we don't care if "you" are out of town! But, the wife has to stay and attend! :funnyhahah

  11. Cross had a great game. He ran tough, got north-south and his 5-7 yard carries were big to keep the offense humming.

I was pissed at Langsdorf for going to 3 straight passes after Cross lost 2 on a first down carry in the 3rd quarter. Yes, one pass was a long pass to Reilly to the 4, but Langsahan didn't go back to Cross inside the 5 and TA threw his pick on 2nd down.

Cross got a lot of help from the o-line and Jano had some great blocks at the point of attack. Imani did his job of getting positive yards. Good job.

finally our offense had a good game for the entire game (second quarter) was a bit of a stumble. The O-line had by far their best game, as well as Imani. I questioned the same calls that you do, where the hell was Cross on a couple of inside the 10 plays. Have not been critical of the coaches this entire year but do wonder where Langsdorf comes up with some of his play calling.

GBR now, no let down at Rutgers!!!!!

Is that Bo's former house? If so, you will want to stay clear of it. Makes you grouchy and a real pain in the ass.

  13. I don't recall him doing much of anything returning kicks. Maybe I missed some of his better one's. Made a few poor choices on bringing them out of the end zone and never followed the blocking. Maybe he can go elsewhere and have a successful future.

  14. I choose to support this team! Coaches and players. This staff was brought in with no time to recruit. I am not happy with the wins and loses either, I will not "revolt or sign some stupid petition". All this will only make us (tne Big Red) look far worse.

Who the hell fires a coach 9 games into a season? Not everything in this world is "insant gratification"

  15. Nine wins is all i hear about pelini. but did he have any signature wins? yes he won the expected games but to win the signature wins takes coaching. in those losses he was out coached. with pelini we were not going to see anymore improvement. you were not going to see any big 10 championships and definitely not a national title. and yes the embarassment of his sideline antics. Do we so soon forget his remarks after he was no longer here? Solich was let go for reasons other then coaching performance which was the reason for his short tenure. Callahan was let go for coaching performance after 5 years?. Pelini was let go for a little of both after 5 years. Mike Riley is owed 3 - 5 years before we should make a decision as to performance. Until then lets support him. there are good things happening if we can see past this temporary win/loss ratio.

BINGO! We have a winner! Very well stated and agree. let's relax for a bit and take a deep breath. At least this set of coaches can talk with the media after a tough loss and not have a "pissin fit" and think the world should bow to him!

  16. You guys are hilarious. The coaches and players arent going anywhere so why waste your time crying about it. Support the team (that means coaches and players) because thats the only thing that you can do to help.

Even if it was supposed to be a designed roll out that's a dumb call, just hand the ball of and let your back pick up the 1st down. Even if he doesn't get it they don't have enough time to drive down field. Coaching staff instead tries to get cute

The fake wasn't even very good. It looked almost like a busted play from the start, anyway. Anything outside of the tackles at that point was a bad play call.

I thought it was a busted play. I also thought MR should have called a time out and told TA not to throw the ball no matter what. The other thing I don't understand is that if the staff was not going to kick the FG, then they knew they had two plays to get the first down, and run the clock, so why run the ball?

I think that Tommy was supposed to give the ball to Ozigbo and he ran to wide for Tommy to complete the handoff. Then he tried to improvise the pass.
