  1. Wats is a colorado ex coach, he seems to put together a better game plan for them than any other games. I believe he will actually pass that ball at the right time and maybe just maybe some misdirection.

We should score 24-28 points and that hopefully will be enough. Would help if defense can score one!

  2. Speaking of Niles, am I the only fan who thinks he needs "glasses"? Seems as the ball approaches him he loses it or just is not focused enough to complete the play. Balls have bounced off his facemask, hit him in the midsection and so on.

At the very least he needs to have his eyes checked.

Hope the rumors on this board are false about his injury yesterday. When Niles is "good" he is really good! and vice versa the other way. We do need him.

  3. The best thing the huskers can now do is take "us against the world" (Big 12) attitude.

We need to come out smokin Friday and lay an ass whoppin on Colorado and take that attitude right to the Big 12 Title game.

We just need to take care of business and get the offense to get physical as possible. The defense can take care of themselves just fine! Go BIG RED!

  4. Burkhead would another person I'd say deserves the honors. He had a great game with a lot of powerful runs

    Burkhead played well indeed.

But Niles had the best game of his "short" career to date. I hope this is the player we can count on next year in every game. He can be a threat! I was quite happy with his play after seeing him have some problems in other games.

Keep up the good work Niles

  5. I thought Suh "should win" but I guessed he would get 3rd.

Not a huge problem with Ingram getting the award. It is just "award" staying true to it's "color". Nobody can win unless they are a qb, rb or once in a blue moon a wr.

Look for Ingram to jump to the NFL regardless of how the Natl champ game goes. His stock is not going any higher. He will be a good pro, I think.

He fits the barry sanders, emmitt smith mold.

Wondering if the pros are going to want to add about 30 lbs on SUh if he is to play in the middle?

  6. Turner WILL get the KU job. As stated above no way would he come back to NU and take the OC job.

He will be a tough match for us to whip every year at Kansas.

I am very happy for him and his family, he does things the right way.

  7. Seems like Pelini possesses several qualities that ND might be looking for in their coaching search:

    1. He's Catholic

    2. Defensive-minded coach

    3. Ties to the Midwest (Cardinal Mooney High School and Ohio State)

    4. Steady demeanor while under the microscope (as seen during his time here at Nebraska- a coach's

ability to handle scrutiny is very important at ND)

    5. Ability to turn a program around quickly i.e. strong leadership

He's probably not being mentioned because of his short time as a head coach. Not sure about his personal desire to coach there either.

    Just a few thoughts.

Crazy thought! I doubt if his name has ever been mentioned among ND heads.

  8. None of these 3 are even close to pro draft status to think about leaving.

You think Crick may leave? Crazy, Bo talked to Suh about his not being ready last year and he is the best DT in college this year. Bo, will get Cricks respect because he IS a defensive coach and has coached some very very good prospects.

Niles is not the reciever that Purify was. ( Purify) has a difficult time getting past the "practice squad" . Let's see how long he lasts on the Cincy active roster. Niles can not carry Purify's jock and he sure as hell is not any "smarter".

All 3 return and I think Crick will stay for his next 2 years. He knows the importance of his education.

  9. I'm just sick of the florida talk. Remember at the beginning of the year the talk was if they win another national title they could be the best team ever? haha. not even close.

Really tired of the TEBOW talk! He is good very good but he has yet to reach "GOD" status as the announcers think!

  10. The refs from the Florida game 3 weeks ago were suspended for one game for making a holding call that never happened. Of course this enabled Florida to go on and score the game winning TD.

Then in last nights Cincy/WV game, Cincy fumbles the ball on the 1/2 yard line or so. Replay showed that he DID NOT get the ball over the TD plane! However after review the "booth" official calls it a TD and Cincy goes on to win by 3 points! Pathetic call! The announcers were surprised to say the "least" with the overturn of on field call!

SO I guess if you are in the TOP 5 or so your conference officials will try to make sure that you continue your run to the National Champ game and all the league money that goes with it!

Look out for Texas if they get in a close game! :steam

  11. I'm watching ESPN Gameday right now. They're at TCU.

They showed the new uniform TCU will be wearing today. A little bit later they showed the new uniform VA Tech will be wearing today. Neither one looks like a college football uniform, looks like something from arena football or some crazy thing.

Doesn't anyone believe in tradition anymore? Why the need for alternate unis?

Why heck those are the new "urban chic" or "hip hop" threads! :dunno

  12. Bo needs to chill the f*** out with screaming at players like that. You would never see a coach like Stoops or Brown yelling at a player on the sidelines like that. In the locker room, thats fine, but on national TV? :wtf

Especially since a lot of recruits were watching that game, that looks really bad.

I hope your post was in jest? DId you miss Stoops blowing his offensive linemen in the ass after he got a penalty? It was very comparable to what Bo does. Stoops and BO are very emotional guys and they coach that way so it will happen from time to time. Kids can take an ass chewin when they have it coming.

On the option, Zac and Roys seperation is vitale important on an option. They were too close to one another and Zac pitched the ball fairly hard. That is a play as mentioned in earlier posts that takes practice and rythym.

Great win for the TEAM! :hellloooo

  13. nope, after the interception return for the TD we just went ultra conservative. We are at times playing our 4-5-and string RB's! Give Green a bit of time to grow.

Next week will be tough to stay competitive, but we have to just keep playing.

Not enthralled with Watson's play calling but we have to be able to run the ball we want to.

  14. I said 7-5 BEFORE Saturday's game vs. Iowa State and I had that chalked up as a win.

Losses to Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado are realistic.

    6-6.

    Nebraska = Fail

Nebraska FANS, PLAYERS, and COACHES over-estimated themselves and under-estimated their opponent. This has become all the norm since right around 2001 or so.

Keep it up. I love it.

Here's hoping for an 0-5 finish and a 4-8 record.

Will the real Steve Pedersen please stand up! Go be negative elsewhere!

  15. A couple of weeks ago I thought we could beat OU in Lincoln! Yikes, I doubt that very much at this point, but as we can testify alot can happen in a couple of weeks.

The offense is playing with too much pressure on themselves. They just need to relax and let things happen. Is Cody Green the answer? I don't know for sure but I think we need to change up something.

finish 4-1 I hope, but 3-2 seems more realistic.

  16. I think TO will intervene at some level.

There are 2 main problems as I see it.

1.) Bo is not involved in the offense.

2.) Watson, while being a smart guy whom I generally like, needs to make a radical change in his approach, or he is out.

I would really hate to se Watson go but this offense is awful. I could deal with struggels on the offensive side of the ball if it showed progress, however this offense has moved backwards week after week the O seems worse than it was the week before at this rate by the CU game we will be gaining negitve yardage and I may need to seek help to help me deal with the dissapointment this season has produced some type of change needs to happen NOW.

They have lost their confidence, Zac is not going back and planting his feet and throwing off his rhytym. He should probably start out under center and try to get his passing in sync. But it may be time to install Cody. But if he fails what do we do then?

  17. He came into the season saying he wanted to make plays for the Huskers and be the go to guy.

I think its pretty apparent he hasn't lived up to that. His only good game was against Mizzou with the two TD catches.

Yes he did and the first thing he does is show his total focus with a DUI! That should have pretty much summed him up.

If you really want to bash Paul, just go back and review the bowl game against Clemson! He had more mistakes than anyone else could have ever have. A couple of late hits blocking on kickreturns, dropped passes and fumbles. I want to pitch him out ASAP, then the knot head makes a big play!

Like posted already he is really good or really pathetic, just too much of the latter at times!

  18. Green will give us something that Zac can not and that is the ability to "break" a big run at any time. He will make mistakes and when he came in against TT he could have very well thrown 2 interceptions if the defense would have caught the ball.

It is not my job but I do think that we are at a time we need to try and make a change. I just hope it is more successful than the change we were promised in the "election" :sarcasm

  19. Yesterday was NOT the coaches fault! The players have to make plays when the opportunity arises. Niles Paul dropping the ball is a great example of just how out focus they were at times yesterday. However, sometimes when you are aware of problems (fumbling and dropping passes) you put a lot of pressure on yourself only to see it take the exact opposite effect you were hoping for.

The sun came up this morning and it will do the same thing next week if we win or not!

Relax for a bit, it is going to get better over the next few years.
