  1. It is clear our offense has cost NU quite a bit this year - and now it continues to cost the program. I am wondering what the best reason for not making Offensive coaching changes prior to the bowl game is? It is apparent a few things are happening right now to the NU program due to it's offensive woes. First, we should be 11-1 in regular season if we could score touchdowns. We should be Big XII champions if we could score from 1st and goal. Secondly, now we have guys (offensive) de-committing every time I pick up the paper. Reading between the lines, this appears to be a consequence of our offensive uncertainty. Everyone knows something will change in the offense next year. Now, whether that be staff or strategy, we don't know. I think maybe things should happen now. Announce the offense is going to a new look or announce a staff change. I think Bo can call the same i-back dives that Watson has done in the past few games don't you? If not, there has to be someone on staff that can. I am not sure if at this point Watson really makes a difference? Finally, we need to get recruiting hard. Get the kid from oregon and then focus on offensive players. Go grab the kid from Millard South, grab some big ugly guys for the o-line and then get another QB and a great tight end. Toughts?
  2. I think most are hoping for something that won't happen. The only thing new for Watson is an update to his resume with another win. His hands are wrapped around his own future, not the the Huskers' offense. It would be great to see some new wrinkles, but I just don't think it will happen.
  3. Then who is? Zac Lee? Maybe your game prep is gelling your hair too? We don't have an answer, plain and simple. I think we will have an answer in Green once he is properly coached. From what I hear Watson is past spell checking his resume and only needs to submit them. So, it might not be that far off.
  4. I am with those who think Watson should be let go. He is the coach in charge of the offense. Every fan can see that Watson's offensive strategy is often more out of balance than a drunk guy logrolling with an inner ear infection. It is bad. Then to hear "it's execution" or other reasons is really getting old. Watson needs to be held accountable. It is like being a parent - odds are if you suck, your kid is going to suck. Memo to Watson: It is not how you look, not the environment, not the media, not most of the players on offense. Its you. You suck. And so does your play calling and your QB. Memo to Bo: it is great to have faith, but come on, temper it with a little good old-fashioned smarts.
  5. I cannot believe people that are backing Lee. There are people in a war right now fighting for you to continue to miss the point. It is leadership, IMO, plain and simple. Leadership is something Lee doesn't possess. I can't see many offensive players looking at him as their leader. Our QB right now is the guy in Gladiator - NO, not Maximus - the guy that pisses down his own leg prior to entering the first arena. Everyone who has watched the first 7 games, knows he cannot get it done against a formidable foe. He cannot put confidence into the other ten guys starring back at him in the huddle. They know he can't run it and if he throws they are going to have to make the play themselves (and get decked by doing it), because the throw is rarely right on. THERE IS NO CONFIDENCE ANYWHERE ON OUR OFFENSE - and that confidence starts with a QB. LEADERSHIP 101. I hope things get better. GBR!
