Since I was not born and bred I will always be an "outsider" I suppose, but I am slightly nervous about this route if Alberts and Frost are both hired too quickly (HC being inevitable).  There is so much that goes into the right choice.  Would you say most within the state are overwhelmingly in favor of this?

Because they are extremely short sighted and want a return to the glory days, something they feel can only be achieved with people that were a part of the program during said days.

The Wrestling Program ran on their own cash.  Denny is a decent guy and wrestling is a very tight group.

The best way to describe Coach Denney is that he was the Osborne of wrestling at UNO.  When I was there in the mid/late 90s I helped him train his wrestlers in the  school Judo program that he taught.  Good times.  :thumbs

Heck, even though Cally, Bo and Frank could not win the big games, they didn't lose to this kind of opponent in year 3.

Whaaaaaat???? This kind of crummy performance has been a Husker hallmark since the Solich firing.  They may not have lost them all, but let's not pretend that teams the Huskers should have beaten handily haven't given them fits over the years.

No, I meant sanity, like when you you see play calls that are insane and you ask the coach how he made it out of PeeWee league.... as opposed to saying " darn, we'll have to work on that and maybe in three years we'll have the right players and calls."

Yeah, I was making a reference to Miles "Mad Hatter" nickname/behavior thus the "Insanity" comment. :dunno

  5. You guys have any other coop games? Most of the time I play Payday 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 online with my friends, but I recently branched out into a couple others the are neat. One that is survival crafting called the Forest and then kind of a silly coop submarining exploration game called We Need to Go Deeper.

Also just got CS:GO during the Summer Sale. I've been meaning to give it a shot.

I used to play Payday 2 and L4D a ton, but my group lost interest in Payday 2 a few years back. It would be nice to get in with another group.

Oklahoma is about to have a Tom Osborne like drop off. End of an era.

They had a drop off when Switzer left, too. It's nothing new.

Oklahoma isn't currently at the pinnacle that Nebraska was at when Osborne left so maybe the drop off won't be as bad as you are expecting. Also, some schools can actually handle a succession plan correctly or they can just get plain lucky.

I don't think I know of a school that hasn't had a drop off after a very successful coach leaves a team

Ohio State had one bad season when Tressel left. I hardly count one season as a drop off when you are considering a program as a whole.

LSU win total went up after Saban left and Les Miles took over. It then went back down once Saban went to Bama.

Wisconsin from Alvarez to Chryst has maintained success.

Iowa maintained when Kirk Ferentz replaced Kirk Ferentz.
