  1. Harvey is still useless until someone shows me facts he has helped the University. Moving to the B1G doesnt count considering I believe TO was the main force behind that. And as said above its ridiculous we lost AAU status. Total ineptness.

You do realize that Harvey Perlman was not responsible for Nebraska getting the boot from the AAU, right?

Matters how you want to look at it. I can see how Harvey has made some enemies in the AAU and he has let aspects in research within the University slip. I wouldnt say he didnt have any responsibility in it by a long shot.

  2. http://www.knowitall...re-jim-tressel/

Tressel is in the middle of serving a five year “show-cause” penalty/sentence levied by the NCAA in connection with lying about known violations during an investigation while he was the head coach at Ohio State.

What this means is that any school wanting to hire Tressel would need to “show cause” to the NCAA as to why the school itself should not be sanctioned for hiring him. That alone would likely be an easy case for Nebraska, as they haven’t had any major violations during the Pelini-era and have been a relatively clean program historically. In addition, Tressel would be ineligible to coach the team during the first five games of the season as well as any conference championship or bowl games during his first year.

Read the article for even more reasons why he won't be here....

I agree we don't need Tressel here but why are you reading some hack writer from Bleacher Report?

  3. I normally don't read long drawn out posts on a message board as my attention span is limited to about 100 characters, but this line caught my eye. What a great idea. Then we can steal recruits from Georgia Tech AND Navy.

    B. Quality of Coaching Staff

    1. Hire a coach and the likelihood of getting a big name coach is unlikely, and end up hiring an unknown.

Unless they hire Ken Niumatalolo, and re-install the option

  4. I like to OP's positive attitude for once. Why can't we win this. Look at the schedules and the results. Both teams have played 9 games. Of that 4 teams have winning records. One out of conference MSU opponent Youngstown State still has to play SDSU and another is 1-9 (Western Michigan) to Southern Miss 0-9. Nebraska and Michigan State are very similar. The one thing they have going for them is their defense with no offense, or up and coming to be fair, too our offense and our up and coming defense. Would I put Tommy Armstrong over Connor Cook? ANYDAY. I ask only that Beck NOT throw the quick hit to the receiver on any down. Tommy can't get the ball out there fast enough and MSU's corners are too fast and probably will not be playing soft.

  5. In no way am I defending Borges but, we all know too well how hard it is to change a style of offense or in our case defense. Going from a defense that was predicated on stopping the spread to a conference that plays smashmouth has had its growing pains. Too bad they didn't give Rich Rod a chance, who knows where they would have been.

  6. Did I miss the part in the article that said, "This is an unsolicited email from Taylor Martinez's father."? Really? Both my son were athletes. If one got injured and I was asked "what's wrong with_______" I would tell that person. I didn't wait for the coach to say,"It's OK, tell them". Thinking that no news service would want to know why TM is not playing is absurd. And too think that this article, because of what his father said, is in anyway usurping Bo's authority is down right ludicrous.

  7. Cross is a north south runner. Short yardage guy. If it looks like he is running into his blockers it is because he is. He is considerably larger than Ameer. The O-line needs to make that push to create larger holes. If you thought he had blazing speed and shiftiness you obviously were not around for his recruitment. And for Beck to run him laterally was the dumbest idea ever. I can't say that he needs to run harder because he rarely gets beyond 3-4 yards. If you all want to complain about his ability or strength look at the O-line first.
