so true. Makes me cringe every time

Well obviously this is already putting pressure on the teams. 3 of the top 4 going down tonight

See this is a case of who cares. And bumping guys like this only sends the recruiting obsessed into a state of tingle that shouldn't be reached while sitting in their mothers basement with only the glow of their computer screen as their only source of vitamin D.Add South Florida?
Sorry I just lost my Chargers so this recruiting prediction thing is the last chance I have at winning something this year

But so many posters on here said he wouldn't be good enough for the NFL?!?! I don't know what to believe anymore!!
Did people actually say that? He's easily a top 3 safety in this draft.
Ehhhhh no he's not. He's more of a top 15 safety in the draft...
I guess I didn't realize he was so low in the rankings. I thought he was consistently graded as one of the best safeties in the country throughout the year. I must have gotten some bad info. #FakeNews
He has been graded as the top college safety on Pro Football Focus, but even with his production it's not translating into a top NFL prospect. Hope he moves up as the draft process continues

I find this hilarious

UTSA, really?
Their head coach was one of the best recruiters in the nation when he was at LSU.

May be cutting it close keeping our draft streak alive this year. Believe the top 2 prospects we have are Gerry and Cethan Carter and they're projected as 7th round picks on CBS Sports...

That' huge, especially after the JC hat debacle. Great work by the coaches.
So are the huskers completely out on JC now???
No
Is the offer still available? If yes and he commits that would mean zero WR over 6' in this class so far.
They'll just teach the QB's to throw it lower

Add Notre Dame?

Moved us from the 30's to the 23rd ranked class on 247. Lots of potential to move up

What a great day!

Watch him pick Oregon St.

Seems like a rad dude!
.....do UCONN fans just hate people with a personality? From how they described them I expected him to be a borderline psychopath. Dude seems cool

Parella told one of our DT commits last night that defensive formation and scheme will not change, so why are assuming its a forgone conclusion we will run a 3-4?
Because....
I would trust Sean Callahan only as far as I could throw him.
not sure why we'd hire a 3-4 guy if we weren't going to run a 3-4....think it's a pretty safe bet we're switching schemes. Could also buy Riley another year if the team struggles by saying we don't have the players yet for our scheme....

I don't get the anst here.
1. He has proven his coaching acumen as a DC
2. He has the perspective and experience of being a P5 head coach
3. He is young, energetic, good-looking, and a great recruiter.
4. He is a dynamite quote machine. This guy will get more "oddball" national attention than Harbaugh (despite what you may think, buzz can be good, especially in recruiting)
*as long as said buzz doesn't include expletive-filled rants about fans and refs
5. He will be a DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR. They are allowed and sometimes encouraged to be quirky, as long as they get results.
6. 3-4 should be fun, let's give it a try.
Agreed. The people complaining are probably the same one's who wanted an offensive coach like Les Miles or Jon Gruden to be the D-coordinator or were expecting Bud Foster/Brent Venables to come here for some reason...
-
I like the hire. Not the best head coach by any means, but the guy knows his way around a defense. UCONN being 17th in ppg allowed in 2015 is pretty impressive for that program. Plus has roots in the Big 10.
-
Our DT's will be eating a lot this offseason...
-
So he got fired for developing a couple guys into phenomenal players, understanding defense, being a decent recruiter who is young energetic and personable and for wearing red pants? UCONN needs to lower their standards...

Yep, think we go 8-4 now instead of 6-6
