  1. I get the impression that many writers think that we're going to get rolled in Indy (and we could...you never know), because we aren't playing at home. I was thinking about that and suddenly realized that we've actually won 3 of our last 4 road games. At this point in the year, we may not be as bad of a road team as they think we are.

I've had similar fears until recently - wondering if the win at Michigan State was an extreme outlier. I feel better now that we not only won at Indy but had a lead, let them come back, then finished strong to put away the win.

But there is no team ahead of us in the RPI that has a worse road record. Only 3 of the RPI Top 80 have a worse record than us currently so it's a legitimate concern. But it's also obvious that this team has come a long way in the last couple months so hopefully we continue to improve on that record.

The only reason I'm a little scared about Friday is because we lost to 31 to Ohio State on the road. Yes it isn't a road game but I think there will be more fans rooting for the Buckeyes than us. Hope I'm wrong though.

My impression is that a lot of the country is having a love affair with Nebrasketball. We're pretty popular right now from what I can tell.

Jim Rome might be a fan. Doesn't matter though, still gotta win the games.

  2. I'd rather be recognized by my peers. Unless Nebraska suddenly picks up several million more people and the media that goes with it, we're always going to have a tremendous disadvantage compared to the old guard.

Doesn't matter when even the Nebraska writers are going against Nebraska.

Who is doing that? Or are you just referring to Dirk and how he can't say 'Creighton' without taking a breath?

  3. My roommate in college was acquired by a survey you filled out before you started your freshman year. He was a good guy, but I transferred to UNL after my freshman year there. The only awkward moment was coming home from studying one night (our dorm room door was unlocked) so I walked in and he and his girl were naked on his bed, and he was finishing the deal. On her chest. I turned around and walked back out. He had seen me so the next day was a little awkward, and he apologized for it and not locking the door so there would be some warning. I basically told him, "it's ok, looks like you were having a good time. Oh, and by the way, you have a small...."

  4. Miles should have gotten both (nothing against Beilein) but still, this is really awesome.

Eichorst, throw more money at Coach Miles, please.

take some moola outta bo's contract and give it to Miles... he actually gets results!!

I bet all the Husker players who worked their asses off to beat Georgia in the Gator Bowl are happy to hear that.

@RobinWashut @chrispank I'm excited that he told people that Sirius is done as the tunnel walk music. #cuemikeybo

    Wait, what?

I know right? I'm all for upgrading the music selection, but you have to play Sirius for the Tunnel Walk just like you need to play Can You Feel It? leading up to kickoffs.

I don't give a two sh#ts what they play the rest of the game, but it wouldn't be a Husker game without those two songs for me.

So it's music that people are showing up for. Makes sense. Surprised the Glenn Miller Orchestra isn't pumping things out. Would match the level of intensity of the fans that show up for the game.

  6. After finally getting home and sitting down, attempting to collect ones thoughts about what was witnessed, all I can do is smile. That was a great game. It was going to be a great game even if the worst of results would have happened. Both those teams played atty a great level and exchanged body shots and haymakers for most of the game. The atmosphere was great and there was just one of those buzzes in PBA.

For the game. What a game in taking care of the ball and forcing a very good possession team into numerous turnovers. This probably was the difference. The second half of defense with maybe the smallest of adjustments in regards to their shooters, wasphenomenal. Benny Parker again plays a man game. When he tied up Jackson it may have gotten the loudest.

Walt, big shot Bob may just have company with big shot Walt. And a hell of a job, on Kaminsky and not picking his fifth foul coming back into the game with six to go.

TP loved his effort on the glass the last part of the game. He played smart on defense and forced things less.

Shavon again just backs my personal MVP opinion. He attacked the rim like Wisky hadn't seen since January. Guy was on, and his dunks fueled the fans fire. The kid is such a smart player on the court and cool headed. Many times when things look like they may break and guys were getting that disgusted look, Shavon was calming them down.

Overall it wasgreat night that capped off an awesome day for Nebraska round ballers.

And you knew Wisky had no prayer after the Mike Peltz proposal. it was awesome watching the team go crazy when she said yes.

    GBR

Didn't agree with a lot of what the refs were doing, especially in the first half, but that was an extremely fun game to watch. I remember when we were down 4 thinking, 'you know...I don't want the Huskers to lose, but this team is a LOT of fun to watch.' Just some great basketball by both teams.

  7. Who would be in more trouble? Michigan without Stauskas? Or Nebraska without Petteway? Not saying this answers the question, but this no-brainer certainly tells a little story.

Again.. it isnt a MVP award... it is best player award.

Michigan has other talent... doesnt take away from what he has done.

I understand the intent. but still, that's like saying they'll give a Heisman trophy to a player on a mediocre team.
