Hey, you know that really famous basketball movie from your state? I think it's called 'Hoosiers'. It's about this school not known for basketball, has a new coach, loses a player they probably needed, but then comes together and does the unthinkable and beats an established 'basketball school'?

Just wondered if you knew what that school, 'Hickory', what their nickname was.

No one is confirming it, but I went to Indiana's radio and they also said it wasn't likely he plays.

 

Btw- discussions like this are one of the main reasons I like(d) the uniqueness of cfb not having a playoff to an indisputable champion. It's fun.

Playing Michigan on the field to determine the champion would've been a lot more fun.

If it wasn't for that damn Missouri game a split title wouldn't have been an issue at all IMO. IIRC, Nebraska dropped to 3rd after that win. I've never understood the whole 'dropping in polls' after you win, especially in the middle of the season. I can see it in the first game or two, when maybe your pre-season rank was maybe perceived to be too high, but if you're winning game after game, no matter how tough the game is, it shouldn't happen.

You know how to get students to the games? Give away free stuff every game. A shirt one game, some shorts another, food another, headbands one, gloves one, etc. Yes, it will cost the University some money but it will cause excitement and get kids to the game. Well, maybe anyway. Just a thought. Hell, it might not make any difference whatsoever.

Just a guess, but if there is a student that isn't planning on using their ticket and going to the game, but all the sudden they decide they're going to go because they can get a free T-shirt out of it...well...screw them. They're not much of a fan anyway and would probably do little else than text or complain about everything.

Off topic a bit, but I think NFL preseason is the absolute worst. Why they haven't cut it down to 2 games is beyond me.

It's about $$$$$$$$$. It always was and always will be. It really doesn't mean much as far as practice goes for the players. You do it for the Cash!!

Not if you turn the other two into regular season games and make even more $$$. But I doubt the NFLPA would ever allow it.

#Huskers Spring Game kickoff has been adjusted to 2pm CT (previously 1pm), April 12. Any possible TV plans are still TBD.

I think I heard on Sports Nightly a while back that this had something to do with schools around the state hosting high school ACT testing that morning. Not sure if that was a primary reason, but may have played a role.

The spring game is a weird deal for me. It's kind of like preseason NFL ball, but with a longer wait between that game and real games that count. I do appreciate the thought of getting out of the house and enjoying the spring weather and shooting the crap with other Husker fans. But, by half, I am shot and ready to head for the door. I would actually rather go over to Haymarket for a good baseball game that day.

 

Baseball usually plays on that day, or has in the past. And the thought has occurred to me to go by the stadium for the vibe and then skip the game and go to the baseball thing.

Anyone know their record at home this season?

I'm not sure if NU is capable of shooting any worse than they did at Illinois. But still, it will be a tough game.
