  1. I think those swing passes and short middle screens are losing their luster. After having great success with them teams will start to focus on that. Baylor did a good job defending those plays. It is time to get away from that and try something new. Then bring it back up against OU or CU and burn them.

  2. zac gets better every game, Dailey sucked, never showed any improvement through the whole season........at least to me that is the case.......

Agreed. There has been improvement with this team. Especially the last 2 games. With last years team there wasn't any improvement. One week they looked the next week they looked bad. The key stat to the comparison is int's. Dailey had 7 more. We aren't giving other teams more easy opportunities to score. The td passes don't bother me so much because we are starting to get the ball in the endzone. I don't care how we score, just score.

  3. You are right ETR. He rushed for over 1800 yds as a Fr. I think his next few years will be difficult to gain that kind of yardage because he will be the key to the O. He won't be a surprise anymore like last year

  4. I agree, I don't think the MU game will be as tough as everyone makes it out to be. I think the Baylor game will be a tougher game than MU. I am not a big believer in Brad Smith. He just doesn't seem to get it done, and he doesn't seem to have improved since his freshman year.

  5. I was wondering that too. Smith is a big guy and my guess is the meter maid is a scrawny kid. Smith probably put his arm across the maid's shoulder and had his hand behind his neck. I know they said there was redness and discomfort. I know my butt gets that way when I sit on the crapper too long.

  6. What the hell is a "choking sensation." Either you are being choked or you are not. I am starting to wonder if people are making this sound worse than it really is.

  7. Swift and Mulkey might have been here for 1 year, but how many catches did they have combined last year? ?

Actually Swift and Mulkey combined for 19 receptions last year. All of them made by mulkey. He was 4th on the team in receptions and would be considered the 2nd on the team in returning receivers since Pilk is gone and Herian has yet to play a game. Mulkey played in all 11 games last year and a few games as a rFR. You cannot consider him as inexperienced.

  8. I agree, I would have liked to see some pressure or a zone blitz on the last play of the game. The only way they made that completion is because the qb had 7 or 8 seconds for the receiver to run his route and continue it all the way across the field. Bring some pressure so the qb only has 3-4 seconds to find the receiver.

  9. University of Nebraska-Lincoln football player Le Kevin Smith was cited for third-degree assault and disturbing the peace after allegedly assaulting a university parking cadet who issued him a parking citation Friday.

University Police Sgt. Jerry Plessel said the cadet had just ticketed Smith’s vehicle for improper parking in the South Stadium parking area around 1:45 p.m. when Smith approached him and squeezed his neck a couple of times, causing a choking sensation accompanied by pain, discomfort and redness.

Smith asked to speak to the cadet’s supervisor, but the supervisor called University Police, Plessel said. The police went to the parking area and contacted Smith, citing him for third-degree assault and disturbing the peace.

Smith, 23, is 6-foot-2 and 305 pounds. The senior nose tackle had four tackles and an interception, which he subsequently fumbled, in Nebraska’s 34-31 loss against Texas Tech on Saturday.

So did this happen on Saturday before the game or was it on Sunday. Obviously he wasn't in a very good mood. Wonder what disciplinary action BC in impose? Will he play next week? The guy has got to be feeling a little down.

  10. LIke I've said before, which announcers are good? It's a tough job, your paid to talk for 3+ hours, eventually your gonna say something stupid,

It may be a tough job but at least you could get the names right. I know it was the running back that ran the ball, who the hell was he?

  11. What's wrong with a team saying this is what we are going to do, stepping up and being determined to run the ball down their throat from inside the five. I've seen many teams on saturdays bound the ball in from short and goal. OU doesn't have a problem, CU, CSU, Texas. Scoring when your close is a necessity to become successful. It has already been proven that NU hasn't been able to throw the ball from close. This could be due to poor play calling, lack of execution, or the players just not catching the ball. We have the personell to do it. Those missed opportunities at points or settling for 3 instead of 7 are going to hurt us one of these days.

  12. I don't know about you, but 2 TD's in the red zone in OT kind of gave me confidence that these guys can score.

when Taylor fumbled late in the game, I hate to say it, but I was almost certain we'd lose.

even if the D held at the end (which of course they did), i didn't think there was ANY way we could win in OT. we've had trouble scoring from the 5 yard line, much less the 25! but they picked it up when it mattered and we're still undefeated in OT.

This team played with Heart the entire game but maybe in future red zone chances, they don't just need that heart but a sense of urgency as well. the added do-or-die mentality in the red zone chances in OT made them unstoppable down there.

we could have won this game by about 3 TDs had they played with that mentality inside the 20 the entire game. it'd be nice to see that 5th gear EVERY time they reach the red zone...

I think we have a better chance of scoring if we are 15-25 yds out insted of inside the 5. That spreads the field more for us. BC seemes determined to get passing td's even when we are inside the 5. Like the announcers said during the game we need a little old NU football when we are inside the five.

  13. Did anyone notice how horrible the announcers were today. I know somebody mentioned in another thread how ABC skipped the A and B lists but I didn't expect to get the D list. These guys were constantly calling the wrong players, fumbling through their words, and just being a nuisance. I enjoyed Bowdens enthusiasm but he would start incessantly rambling about something and wouldn't beabe to find the right words to spit out.

Did anyone elses game keep cutting out. In Denver my tv would cut out for a few seconds. It did that about a dozen times throughout the game. My brother across town said it did it to him to. I don't know if it was a local thing or it happened to everyone else. It really sucked when there was a big play going on. I don't pay high dollar for digital cable to have it cut out during an important moment.
