  1. Initially it sounds like a good point. Definately at the beginning of the game to see how our ground attack fares agains isu. Ross doesn't have to tote it 30 times this game though, glenn lucky and bjax should get a few carries a piece. I look for glenn to have a breakout game.

  2. To continue to even have a shot in hell they need to continue not turning the ball over. We've turned it over 6 times, most were in the first game and only had 6 takeaways. We need to win the turnover battle 3:1.

  3. So if we buy into that Billy C inherited crappy players from Solich, why shouldn't we buy into he inherited a Super Bowl team from Gruden and ruined them?

Switzer inherited a team from Jimmy, and he was pretty successful for a while until he didn't make the necessary personnel changes and began to suck. I don't think Switzer was a great Pro coach, but he does have the hardware. BC inherited a talent rich team from Gruden. Today, that once talented team sucks. Solich, Pelini, or whoever else you want to give cudos to won games with the talent BC inherited. BC didn't!

I find it down right disgraceful when I hear hey guys come on lighten up we're only 3 wins away from being bowl eligible. Since when did being bowl eligible highlight the friggin season? Answer: since not making one for the first time since what 1961. Personally, I don't give a rats ass if we make a bowl game or not. I wanted to see improvement and heart this season. All I'm seeing offensively is a bunch of guys simply going through the motions. If it weren't for lion heart Ross back there, our offense would be last in D1. I realize defense win championships, but ask the Ravens what no offense gets you.

If we get blasted by Iowa State, I'm really going to be pissed. Why? They're playing with a lot of Nebraska rejects, kids who only dreamed of playing for the Big Red. If these guys come in here and make our highly touted talent look foolish, then I'll really be seeing red!

    :yeah

I agree with that except I do care if we make a bowl game. That means at least 6 wins which is improvement over last year. It also means the team gets to practice 3+ more weeks than they did last year (they need it), it also means they get 1 more game for experience. Just trying to make them more seasoned for the following year. That should be a goal every year is to win and also get better for the following year.

  4. That's a good ?. FS's offense could use a jump start. They offered him a scholarship didn't they?

    Best of luck to Joe.

One more question...How does a guy go from starter to fourth string without playing a game? Wouldn't it be nice just to have him here as a backup? We have NO experience behind ZT. If he goes down we might as well throw Beck to the wolves and play for next year.

  5. Well before we all go surrendering the Texas Tech game... here are some TT stats (through 2 games):

    Rushing D: 32

    Passing D: 47

    Pass Efficiency D: 21

    Total D: 33

And this is against: Florida Int'l and Sam Houston St. They gave up 21 to Sam Houston.

If our offense can get a bit of momentum through the off week and the Iowa St. game, we have a legit shot at these guys. But, this MUST happen to have a shot. Our defense will contain them well, but we are not going to shut them out by any means. We have to have our offense score. We aren't going to get by with 1 td, lol. I think we can hold them under 25 points (under 20 if we run the ball well, and get some good time-of-posession).. and with Tech's weak defense, I think with some momentum we should be able to outscore them... hopefully.

They also hung 80 on Sam Houston. The D doesn't have to play lights out when the O is putting up #'s like that. Nevertheless, TT never has been know for its D. It's their O that turns heads.

  6. Keep throwing money at the problems and maybe they'll go away?

I realize we have to keep up our facilities and these kind of things, but we're doing a lot of things right now that could be considered "overkill"! We have thousands of displaced people right now in Louisian, and the best we can do is spend $5 million on a big screen? When I was in college a little less than 10 years ago, my tuition per credit hour was around $58-$62 my years as a college student. Now, tuition is over $100 per credit hour. NU enrollment was down 12 percent this year, and we still think it's a good idea to spend 5 million bucks? I realize the project is supposed to be paid for my sponsors and donations, but not all of the projects going on at Memorial stadium are.

I just wonder what kind of other sports teams we would have if we dedicated this much time and money? Hell, the volleyball team has a lot better run going the past 5 years. Why aren't we spending boo coo bucks on the volleyball program?

NU isn't the only school raising tuition, CU and CSU have raised tuition the last couple of years also. I believe many schools have raised tuition. It is becoming more and more expensive to get and education. I am sure that there will be quite a few people in debt up to their ears after they graduate. I know I will be.

The football program spends the most money because they bring in the most money. They also have the largest team. What other NU team has 120+ players?

  7. Highly regarded, five-star safety Jonas Mouton of Los Angeles also was in Ann Arbor for the Notre Dame debacle. "I liked my trip a lot," said Mouton, from Venice High School. "The whole thing was just fun. Nothing really stood out. My host was Chris Richards (cornerback) and I went alone. After the game, we went back to the hotel and hung-out and played some video games. On Sunday, we focused on looking at the facilities and on academics. I did not come close to orally committing (to the Michigan coaches). We didn't even really talk about it. I might not commit anywhere until close to Letter-of-Intent Day (February 1). It'll just be a step-by-step process for me. But I'm tired right now. I just got back and these trips take a toll. So does all the calling," Scout.com's No. 4 safety also visited Nebraska on September 2, and says the Cornhuskers are among his favorites with Michigan and USC.

    Fox Sports

Sounds like Michigan didn't impress Mouton. I think we have a good shot if we can keep USC out.

  8. If Pitt beats Nebraska, it really means diddly because of the way Ohio beat Pitt. They didn't run them into the groud like ND basically did.

Wait a minute, what happened to a win is a win. Ohio won period. It doesn't matter if it was an interception in OT or a 60 point blowout. There will be a lot of pissed off people if NU loses to a team that was beaten by a Frank Solich coached team. The papers will have some very interesting articles and opinions.

  9. Taylor didnt look any better than Dailey did last year, was just lucky that he didnt have more picks.

I disagree as much as someone can disagree.

    1. Taylor doesn't make a fraction of the dumb throws Dailey did. He knows when a guy is open and when he isn't. Dailey never seemed to grasp this concept.

    2. Taylor looks much much more comfortable in the pocket than Dailey ever did. You ever seen Dailey do his happy feet move?

Yes, you have a case in the numbers department. However, watching the game you can't tell me than Taylor isn't any better than Dailey.

Taylor throws alot of dumb passes when he's getting rushed. He should of had about 5 or 6 passes picked last game against wake.

He should have also had five or six more completions. Our receivers have to start catching the ball!!!

  10. LMAO how the heck do you consider Ohio's Offense FUN TO WATCH???!!! If that was exciting...I hate to see how you react watching Grass Grow!

They did have over a 50% completion percentage. That is more than we can say for another team we follow. Nearly as many yards also. I just don't think Ohio has the right "personel." Isn't it all about personel.
