  1. What would we need for a true sellout? For a "ticket broker" not to have 50 tickets in his hand while the game is being played...i love my huskers like you guys do but being a newer fan a comment like all tickets are sold and only 50000 show up is not a sellout IMO especially if the ticket brokers cant sell their tickets to lowly SDSU. Lord almighty. This comment deserves a huge . This has been covered numerous times in this thread. Selling all the tickets to a game is a sellout. The ticket broker bought those tickets (meaning they were sold to him). The seats are empty because ticketholders didn't show up, but they still bought the tickets leading to another sellout. I understand you opinion, but thats just my opinion i dont beleive its a sellout when a middle man "ticket broker" cant sell all of his tickets...it means there wasnt a high enough demand for the game and those tickets would have been sold to a normal fan wanting to go to the game. Your agruement makes sense to me but im sorry i dont see it that way. Its my opinion is all. So even though UNL has SOLD the ticket, and that person passed it on to a broker, who cannot sell it, the game is no longer sold out? Even though you cannot go to the ticket window and buy one from UNL (sorry SOLD OUT) the game is NOT sold out? So in your mind if a season ticket holder from Scottsbluff, gets in a car wreck on the way to the game and cant make it, the game is no longer sold out (assuming all other tickets are sold, and all have shown up).... Sorry buddy, but even for Texas there will be someone who cant make it at the last moment, and none of our games have been sold out.... No its not. If someone goes up to the window and it says sold out its because Julio down the street has 50 of them and you have to track him down. Whos to say enough people would have purchased these tickets, how do you know how many tickets the sclapers have left over....how do you. they have intenet to sell them not go to the game...big difference. And if the guy gets in a wreck going to a game he had intenet to go to the game NOT SELL THEM...if you have 100 tickets for sale you are selling for the athletic department illegally and you dont sell those ...is it still a sellout?...give me a break
  2. i should elaborate and say that we wouldnt have sold out SOME games not all
  3. We get your point, man. It's not rocket science here. You're saying that you don't see it as a sellout. We're all saying you're wrong. Here's a visual for you: The people who think a sellout means that the University sold all the tickets available for the game: :):):):):):):):):):):):):) :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):) :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):) :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):) :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):) :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):) :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):) :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):) The person who thinks that every seat must be filled for it to be a sellout: :ahhhhhhhh Yep im running around going crazy...yep im sure im the only one that feels that way because 10 guys on here dont agree or cant see my point. People i understand that its a sellout i get it. I get everything that comes with it. Plain and simple if it wasnt for scalpers we wouldnt have the steak. If scalping was actually enforced we wouldnt sell out. Sorry.
  4. Guys i understand what you are saying, your not getting MY point...i know that once the athletic department is out of tickets "they" consider that a sellout....I DO NOT..its as simple as that. One person shouldnt be allowed to purchase as many tickets as it takes to sellout a game and then take pride that we have the best attendence ever.
  5. NO. Please read the following statements slowly...... If every seat is full, a stadium is filled to maximum capacity. If every ticket is sold (regardless of how many ticketholders show up), its a sellout...... No an opinion... fact Its not a fact...if someone purchases a mass amount of tickets with the idea to sell them for a profit and doesnt sell them...those tickets are "technically" un sold im my mind....those tickets wouldnt have been purchased. See you guys wont listen to what im saying. I understand they are "considered" sold...but they arent sold to a person intending on taking their family. You have to allow a few tickets to be considered wasted like i said...things come up. But they were intending on being in those seats.
  6. NO. Please read the following statements slowly...... If every seat is full, a stadium is filled to maximum capacity. If every ticket is sold (regardless of how many ticketholders show up), its a sellout...... It all comes down to your definition of a sell out. Mine means every seat full..not tickets sold and thrown away. Thats my definition. Under your defintion of the work sell out. North dakota state could sell out 300 times if one person bought all the tickets and tried to sell them on his own for profit, if he doesnt sell them all hey its still a sellout. Im sorry it doesnt make any sense to me.

  8. Isnt that what a sellout is, every seat full. Inevitably there are going to be people that INTENDED on going to the game that something came up last minute and then the tickets are going to waste. But if a ticket broker ends up with 100 tickets unsold to SDSU is that a sellout? not in my mind
  9. What would we need for a true sellout? I'm going to assume he wants everyone with a ticket to show up for the game. If that's the case, the list of sellout streaks is probably non-existent. Notre Dame is 2nd to us in consecutive sellouts and I'm pretty sure they haven't had every ticket holder show up to every game during that streak. That's unrealistic. Regardless, its a SELLOUT STREAK, not a fill your stadium to maximum capacity streak...... Isnt that what a sellout is, every seat some. Inevitably there are going to be people that INTENDED on going to the game that something came up last minute and then the tickets are going to waste. But if i ticket broker ends up with 100 tickets unsold to SDSU is that a sellout? not in my mind

  11. No matter what some may think i have a legit arguement. IN MY OPINION (caps to show emphasis) that is not a true sellout...obviously..but thats my opinion. Interesting to see it works that way. Either way Go Big Red.
  12. Hard to laugh when guys are making fun of you. Anyway, my question should have been How does the sellout streak work, who keeps track of it, do they just take our word? So i guess they just take our word for it huh? Interesting. So if it wasnt for scalpers? My guess is there has to be some official way of reporting the games we sell out. But the scalpers get hold of tickets that have already been sold. Either way, I'm sure the NCAA just says "O.K. looks legit" and marks it down. Not to cause trouble but dont you think thats what they told Reggie Bush.

  14. :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin yep another know it all go figure...rip on a guy because he doesnt know how the sellout streak works.....thanks Relax man. If there's one thing you have to have on this board, it's thick skin. i guess geez
  15. :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin yep another know it all go figure...rip on a guy because he doesnt know how the sellout streak works.....thanks
  16. I don't think the NCAA is the arbiter of this record. Maybe they are... not sure. The only thing anyone cares about is if the tickets are sold. We've had pretty empty stadiums in the past ten years, especially during the Callahan era, but the tickets were still sold, so they counted. If they sold 85,000 tickets and only 10,000 showed up to watch, they'd still count it for the "sellout streak." Thanks, that explains alot. I kinda thought it had to be offical. I know the scalpers have the tickets and are considered sold out but i was thinking if the scalpers didnt sell the tickets then someone would come down on us Reggie Bush style.
  17. Can they NCAA do what? The only reason the NCAA would get involved is if they thought players were illegal scalping tickets or something like that. I really don't think the NCAA cares about what we're selling our tickets for or anything like that, but perhaps I'm misunderstanding you. Ok so your saying its our sellout streak based off our numbers and no one will question it? Honest question...i honestly dont know how that works...Only became a big time NE fan a few years ago when i moved from SD so go easy on me fellas.
  18. yep you know all...i shall bow at your knees great and powerful god They say there are no stupid questions but when your dealing with the great and all mighty NE football fans all questions are stupid and how dare you even say it may end...only when the sun never rises in the morning will it end and ZAC LEE IS OUR STARTER PERIOD....RIGHT? mature... You obviously follow my opinions and comments quite closely. Yes this thread about wondering if our sellout streak will end for a game that has already sold out is not stupid, you are correct... No i dont follow your posts closly. It was an easy ASSumption because all you know it all husker fans said the same thing....LEE IS OUR STARTER PERIOD DONT YOU QUESTION ME I KNOW EVERYTHING. Obviosuly the game will be sold out...will people actually buy the tickets that are already "sold" is another question....again im not stupid i understand that...i should have never mentioned END AND SELLOUT STREAK in the same sentence...you guys are too easy to get riled up. Calm down. Alrite, its really stupid to argue over something so little. Dude, your not stupid. Nobody on here thinks your stupid. Every game this year is sold out already do to season ticket holders. If they sell their tickets to others it does not affect the sellout streak because the athletic dept. has already sold them. And to answer the bolded part: maybe, maybe not. That's why total attendance to each game is different. The Idaho game was 86,800ish. Some games are 84-85K. Just depends. But in all honesty, nobody was trying to make you feel bad, they were just making jokes to get laughs. At least my intentions were to get laughs. Sorry. Well im sorry then if i misunderstood...it seemd like i was being attacked and went into defensive mode. My initial post wasnt very clear (this is my first topic)...but it wasnt what i was trying to say at all. My question above is can the NCAA do that and end our sell out streak?
  19. How is this obvious from your first post? And nobody is in meltdown mode, just because we are shooting down your sellout streak thoughts doesn't mean anybody is freaking out. Is this like the new internet message board defense mechanism? I know I messed up so I will just play it off like they misunderstood me and laugh at them, claiming they are freaking out to save face? Yep just like everyone shot me down when i said Taylor looks like he is going to be the starter a full week before the first game. I dont know if you were one of em ..i dont really care...but alot of guys gave me a hard time for saying that as well. Whos to stop the NCAA from coming in and saying whoa wait a second you had 5000 seats that no one was sitting in...Where are the tickets?
  20. OK, calm down. You're getting very agitated for such a simple question. Yep i typed in caps so im mad
  21. I understand that.... i should have worded my post differently, i obviosuly know that the games will be sold out and our streak will not end. I should have know wording it that way that it would send some people into melt down mode. I know all about the scalpers and the tickets are "sold" thats common sense and its been so long they would give the tickets for a dollar to sell them out.
  22. yep you know all...i shall bow at your knees great and powerful god They say there are no stupid questions but when your dealing with the great and all mighty NE football fans all questions are stupid and how dare you even say it may end...only when the sun never rises in the morning will it end and ZAC LEE IS OUR STARTER PERIOD....RIGHT? mature... Awww, come on. I think everyone was just joshin' ya. Just kidding around. Seriously though. The streak is not in jeopardy this year. Or in the foreseeable future. Im not mad i would have to be a real tool to get mad over an internet message board. i thought it was a legitimate thought, but apprently not. My point being...if not for one of the worst teams we have ever hosted then when...and when the sun doesnt come up in the morning and making me feel stupid is not a very mature answer. Some husker fans need to get their heads out of the clouds...all good things come to and end. Especially our last home game before our next very expensive home game...but hey as long as the scalpers have the tickets thats all that matters.
  24. thanks to all for giving a good answer and not treating people like they are stupid
  25. Nope didnt see that thread just noticed the prices...
