Ok so now we're saying that "staying close to home" means for maybe 1 or 2 weekends a year the team is playing within driving distance.
I feel like anything outside of a few hours drive is all the same in terms of distance. Picking a school because once a year you get to play in the hometown seems very backwards to me
-
What am I missing about the "close to home" argument for WSU?
18 hours from LA to Pullman
22 hours from LA to Lincoln
Similar flights

Apologies if this is posted somewhere, but does anyone have a summary of the decision dates/times of our top remaining targets? Thanks

Why do you guys keep saying USC/UCLA? Say you're just guessing out your ass or say why... because it completely refutes what he was quoted saying last week.
This is just too perfect. coming from The Boy Who Cried N

I would trust a fart after a night of eating taco bell and drinking bud heavy over anything Matty says when it comes to recruiting.
Thank You. +1000

MattyIce needs to be held accountable. There is a difference between optimism, and blindly guaranteeing commitments. or citing a "very trusted source." or referring to yourself as some recruiting guru that is well connected. None of these were true. Matty is the little boy that cried wolf and always will be.
I (we) come on here for actual insights, not just blind guarantees.
Or, he found some info not everyone had access to abd shared it. Then tried to spread some optimism. Now everyone is blaming him for Darnay not choosing us because that's what people do.
No one is blaming him for Darnay committing elsewhere, that would be ridiculous.
However, his commit guarantee and the whole song and dance of trying to sound like an insider, looks even more ridiculous now. Darnay had us as a distant 4th, and only had the hat there out of respect to the staff and his Calabass teammates. I am all for optimism, but that performance was a joke. And if everyone were to come on here and act like Matty, spouting off fake information, and claiming fake inside sources, the quality of this board would be severely damaged.

Matthew Svoboda did a great job on Twitter regarding Husker recruiting, he retweeted just enough (but not too much) and was a generally good follow. His account is gone for some reason.
My question is what other Twitter accounts are similar, and who should I follow as we near NSD? I liked Matt's feed because it wasn't filled with all of those paid Scout/Rivals links, and he retweeted the Husker staff and Husker targets/commits when necessary. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Excellent Twitter follow. Also probably the best season preview I have read all season

After road trips to see Nebraska play at VTech, Penn State, Michigan, and Wisconsin, I am finally coming to Lincoln. We are coming for the Wisconsin game 10/10 and I have some basic questions regarding where to stay and what to do.
Where are the bars located?
Is there a certain "downtown" area to try and get a hotel near?
Any hotel suggestions or location suggestions?
I want to get there Friday because there is always added energy the night before a big game, and I am sure Lincoln is no different.
For Gameday, what is the tailgating like?
Is it bar-hopping or is there a big car/RV tailgate area - and if so, where are these locations?
Thanks so much for any and all information. Finally making my first trip out, and I've waited a damn long time. I wanna make it as best I as I can.

That's the best preview I've seen. Not just because they picked the Huskers to win the west, but because of the relevant discussion and cool stats. Thanks for posting D-LineU! +1 :
I've followed these guys since launch in 2012, and love their content (and Twitter). Really a College Football gem

Pick Six Previews has been named "most accurate BCS/Power 5 predictions" since 2012, and are as detailed a season preview as you can find. They have Nebraska winning the West, and offer a hard-hitting intro too: http://www.picksixpreviews.com/2015-big-ten-west-division-preview.html

Sorry if I missed this, but where did you find these odds? Can you link it for us?

The HuskerBoard reference wouldn't be because the OP wrote this himself, would it?
Classic Knapp. Any actual opinion on the piece?

Big Ten West Preview, harsh (but accurate) look at the program:
"On the surface it may look like just another typical 4 loss Bo Pelini team, but at its core, 2013 was the most unsettling year since the dark days of the Callahan era."
**Also a HuskerBoard reference in the preview

Voted. HELP SPREAD THE WORD, still barely trailing Hackenberg from the State Pen.

Not sure where you are located, but Pennsylvanian's For Nebraska does weekly watch parties at Fox and Hound in King of Prussia area in PA

The husker fan base is more tame than most.. all fan bases have these boards and all of them say positive and negative things.... dont take it offensively.. that is part of the game.
Well there is that one Bamy site where you cannot say ANYTHING bad about Bamy/players/Bear Bryant or else you get immediately banned.
Ohhhhhh... which one?! I have never been banned before! LOL
That would be the infamous tidefans.com.
Some of their rules:
LSU fans were banned following Bama's 2011 6-9 OT loss to the Tigers and are still banned some 26 months later.
But it's not as if fans of other teams are really allowed either. It's the largest sunshine pump I've seen on the internet.
I find it interesting how message boards can in some ways reflect the general culture...or stereotyped culture...of a school's fans. Bama's largest board is huge, crazy and isolationist. LSU's largest board has devolved into a hugely successful arena for throw downs between fans from across the SEC while Kansas State's is just one gigantic vulgar troll board.
whats the name of this LSU one?

Was just about to post about those Crouch era uniforms being the best. The only 'alternate' we need is to take the stripes off the pants for good

imagine the meltdown of a loss to 'lowly' Texas.
