If i remember right you sign up on a list the week or two before the game at Husker Hounds, then they randomly draw names and you pay in cash at the store. I tried a couple of years ago for a game, but never got the call

Doing a danasty, started out with Troy. Stayed with them for six years and led them to 3 rose bowls, 1 being a victory and the number 3 team in nation. Got the #4 recruiting class in nation, #1 scrambling QB, #1 and #3 WR. Was on the verge of winning a national title my 7th year with them and then...Nebraska offers me a head coaching contract! You think I can turn that down, heck no! My first year with them, #4 in the nation and 5-0. Gonna win my first national championship in that game with the Huskers baby!

So if media is banned, I take it Nebraska won't be doing a ESPNU all-access to their practice and lifting sessions like Alabama did...

In 1976, preseason #1 Nebraska opened on the road in Baton Rouge vs LSU.

Nebraska wore their home red jerseys. LSU wore their white w/ gold pants.

LSU tied Nebraska 6-6.

 

In the 1977 Liberty Bowl, both Nebraska & North Carolina wore their home jerseys.

Nebraska beat the powder blue clad Tar Heels 21-17.

 

Another "all color game" in 1978, Hawaii visited Memorial Stadium and wore ther home green jerseys.

Nebraska won 56-10.

With all the reports of players fighting at practice, just wanted to get everyone's opinion on the topic. Do fights between offense and defense help build team chemistry or tear a team apart? Kind of reminds me of Remember the Titans a little bit but that stuff ended bringing them closer together. I guess my opinion is how well the coaches handle it. If the coaches handle it well, it can bring the team closer, but if it keeps happening on a regular basis it can tear the players apart and create animosity towards eachother. Thoughts?

So I was playing NCAA '11 last night against Rutgers at home and they wore red away jerseys and I wore white home jerseys. It kind of got me wondering, does anyone know of a time we had to wear white home jerseys or red away jerseys to accomodate the other teams colors? None come to my mind. I know it is kind of a stupid question but the game just got me thinking a little bit.

My parents got married on a game day (worked for the familys, not them). Everyone on my dad's side thought my grandpa on my mom's side was deaf because he had a hidden earpiece in and was listening to the game. The last thing he said to my mom before taking her down the aisle was "Hipp is on the 3" and about halfway down he fist pumped (TD). Nebraska won the game 34-3 so I don't think TOO many people were upset.

That is awesome! The fist pump walking down the aisle after a touchdown, priceless!

On my radio show yesterday, I probably jinxed you. Sorry.

 

I said that Nebraska had the talent and the schedule (Texas at home, no Oklahoma), to go 12-0 this year. I believe the Blackshirts are back (even without Suh) and the offense will be much better.

 

That just leaves a game with Oklahoma (my pick to win the South) standing between the Huskers and the BCS championship game.

 

You can blame me if it doesn't work out.

My expectations are pretty low this year. To make it a successful season for me we must beat South Dakoda State. If we beat them, the season for me is a success Big 12 north championship is good for me. Hopefully we can win the championship game and make the Fiesta!

The best way I can sum up the Chael/Silva fight is the 2009 Big 12 Championship game. Nebraska had it won and made some mistakes to cost them the W. Chael had this won but one costly mistake cost him the belt but I enjoyed watching him pick apart this untouchable fighter that everybody is so madly in love with.

 

I just don't understand all the man love for Silva...guys a douche and his last 4 fights haven't been spectacular. Sure he's one 13 straight but seems like he doesn't care anymore and he's so madly in love with himself who loves to taunt and literally break dance in the octagon. For a fighter who is suppose to be the best pound per pound fighter in the world hasn't show that in his previous 4 fights.

 

 

100% behind you on that, another thing to point out is those times he has looked good (looked like he cared) were fights at 205 the last time the looked good at his weight class was back in april of 2008 agains Dan Henderson

Anyways back to Anderson Silva. So whos next in line to fight him....will it be Vitor or Chael? I thought that Jon Jones was in the same weight division but he's not....that really bums me out.

 

If its Vitor or Chael it should be another good fight and hopefully Silva loses this time.

If I had to guess Id say Belfort gets the next shot. Or Sonnen will fight Belfort for the number one contender spot. I don't know, Im not a big fan on an immediate rematch for the title. I don't want UFC to become like WWE when two guys feud for the title multiple times back to back. What happens if BJ Penn wins his title back, should Edgar get an immediate rematch since Penn did? If it is another close fight and Edgar loses, it would only be fair if Edgar gets the rematch since Penn did. That would make it three in a row for them. I disagree with Penn getting the rematch. Have him fight another top contender first to earn his shot. Id like to see Sonnen fight Belfort for the shot, but who knows what the UFC will do.
