  1. What is funny is how they pick and choose what mascots are and are not "abusive". What a crock. Myles Brand is a friggin moron.
  2. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=2125735 What does everyone think of this?
  3. I remember when I was in college every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night me and a buddy picked up a 30 box of Keystone or High Life for about $9 and headed off to party.
  4. I've heard that baby Ruud is a stud. So, I would think that he'll be on the field somehow. Octavien is bigger, I believe, so he might be more suited to the middle.
  5. Yea, I'm not sure about that. I have never had it, but the people who drink it think it's the best thing since sliced bread and like to lambast any other beer Maybe its because Guiness is kinda like sliced bread. Me, I prefer It's good, and cheap. Rolling Rock is ok, but gives me the worst headaches. Becks is pretty good, but more pricy than the High Life.
  6. Hopefully Beck and Taylor turn out to be the real deal. This year will be a lot better than last if Taylor can do half of the things people are expecting of him. What did you mean when you said Lucky has a lot to learn? About the offense? Or playing football in general?
  7. Maybe he is more of an ass man? Assman. Is that Batman's other sidekick?
  8. The NCAA sucks. They have their heads so far up their you-know-whats. Perfect example being how they instituted a rule limiting the size of media guides.
  9. Good deal. Surgery is never good. Hopefully he'll be back and fairly healthy for fall practices.
  10. Only 4 days of 2-a-days? I thought there was like two weeks of them...
  11. Ya lost me at "pretty easy".
  12. Excellent info. Thanks!
  13. Ty Goode was a huge recruit back in his day. It was a very big deal when he went to ND. Just because he didn't pan out, doesn't mean he wasn't a huge recruit. The argument you are making, Nameless, is about 4 and 5 star incoming recruits, not how they finish college. Goode was at least a 4 star caliber guy.
  14. Yikes. Sadly, it looks as if they are pretty accurate, usually. I doubt we'll end up 3-8, but I've often said NU could go anywhere from 3-8 to 9-2 this year.
  15. Officially it was a 95er by Crouch, though to avoid the sack he went about 8 yards deep in the endzone. Like someone said before, he ran about 130 to 140 yards on that play, when all was said and done.
  16. Wake, because they are not bad and will give us our first real idea of how our team is going to be in 2005.

  18. I'm with Chicago here, 110%. Crouch had less talent around him. Everyone says how Solich tanked in the recruiting department. What Crouch did with what he had was amazing. He single handedly kept us in games, he did not cost us games. Versus CU in 2001, he is the single reason we almost came back in that game. He had more heart than all the other players on the 2001-2004 teams combined. If we had even one more player who wanted to win as badly as he did on that 2001 team we would have won the Big XII. And if we had even one player who wanted to win in 2004 as badly as he did, we would have won the Big XII North.
  19. Callahan is clearly a great recruiter, and Solich was clearly not. Still, it would have been made easier for Solich had Byrne not let our facilities slide as far as he did.
  20. The Kansas game was on PPV last year, so i am not sure why you say pederson turned them down. I think you are thinking of Baylor, not Kansas. The reason Pederson turned down the offer for Baylor was because Nebraska was 3-2 at the time and coming off a 70-10 blowout the week before from Texas Tech. The University has to gurantee Fox makes at least 150K on the game (actual operating costs) otherwise NU has to pawn up the difference if you do not get enough subscribers, otherwise they will not pick it up. There was no way anyone was going to watch Nebraska play Baylor on PPV considering they were still pissed about the loss the week before. We won't know anything about it being picked up on PPV untill probably the middle of August. Gotcha, wrong game. Still, I have to think that Fox is trying to take advantage of NU fans. If we keep shelling out 30 bones for PPV games, they won't ever put us on FSN.
  21. I think someone on another board said there would be no new big screen this year. But that same person also said there would be no red "N" at the 50, and was wrong. So, take it for what it is worth...
  22. I don't think it will be. After the WIU game last year, Pederson realized that Fox was taking advantage of the fact that NU fans will pay damn neared anything to watch the games, and Fox would start to deliberately not put NU games on FSN so they could PPV them. Remember Fox tried to PPV the Kansas game, but Pederson turned them down on the offer. Good call, imo. $30 is outrageous considering that one day of games on ESPN gameplan (turns out to be around 15 games) runs $15.
  23. Like I said above: If Frank had the facilities that we are installing now, If Byrne had not let the facilities slip so far, Frank would have gotten many more "Blue Chip" athletes. Players want fancy weightrooms and lockerrooms. We have not had that for the last 5+ years.
  24. We desperately need him at DB. Let him run a couple of dives with the third team offense against the Blackshirts, tell him he won't cut it at RB, and get him on defense!
  25. Well, it's not really Pederson's fault, since he was only at NU for one Solich season. If Byrne had put the $$$ into the program that Pederson has, recruiting would have been a lot easier for Solich and probably better. TO said that after Byrne quit. All Byrne did for the football program was pimp it out to support his bid for the Sears all around trophy. Skyboxes are pretty and nice for rich fans, but a visiting recruit could give a crap about them. Solich was not the best recruiter around, but you never saw him working with the prospect of the facilities that Callahan has been able to push on recruits, either.
