  1. The top of the SEC beats up on each other and stays ranked high because they are the SEC. The Big 10 beats up on each other and we get ranked in the 14-20 range because we are the Big 10. Explain to me how this all actually makes sense again?

  2. Unfortunately, I agree with more of the Cy thoughts than the typical Iowa fan thoughts. Vandenburg is pretty accurate at home, but he still hasn't figure out how to not get rattled on the road. Coker will probably get his yards - he really is a bulldozer. On the flip side, Burkhead will get his yards as well for the same reason. I am a die hard Iowa fan, but the defense this year has just not gelled and is missing some of the talent we have had the past few years. If this game were in Iowa City I would like our chances, but one road win where we had 3 turnovers does not inspire my confidence that we have figured out how to play on the road.

  3. Okay. You've convinced me. I'm a terrible person. I shall close my account and never return.

Please don't. We're smarting from another meltdown right now. It's OK.

This. Ask Badgerfan how things were around here after our meltdown against Wisc. And he still stuck around.

Yea stick around, I think it'd be nice if we had one or two posters from each team in the conference around just to provide input and what not. I for one have learned a lot since I joined not only about Nebraska but about CFB in general...overall its got me a lot more excited about the future of the Big Ten.

Anyhow it gets better, might be a little tense until the Huskers play the Hawks but most posters on here are good people....for everyone else there's the Woodshed! :wasted

Huskers vs. Hawkeyes = Schizo vs. Schizo this year. I give the advantage to the schizos that don't have to travel.

  4. I agree that it gets mighty cold in late November, but it's pretty cold for these morning games too, isn't it?

Yes - but it is easy to take off the winter coats you wore to the game. Drunk people are not always known for thinking ahead 3 hours when it will be 30 degrees colder and the anti-freeze will be long gone. Also, morning games are still played in the daylight which makes a big difference this time of year for temps.

  5. I would like to apologize to all of you Husker fans for that abysmal showing on Saturday. I was really hoping that we would set up the game in 2 weeks to be for the Legends Title but alas it didn't happen. I did finally figure out what is going on with my team this year though. It required a lot of deep thought and careful analysis. Are you all ready for it?

We have too many bad players and not enough good players to compenstate and an insanely stubborn OC who refuses to take what the other team will give and instead try to force what he wants.

I know. That is shockingly deep analysis.

  6. Their fans are still happy they loss.

    No we aren't.

I blame it on Nebraska though. We have 5 common opponents this year and for every team that Nebraska beat, Iowa has lost to and vice verce. So you can go ahead and blame Iowa for the outcome of the Nebraska/Michigan game as the result seems pre-determined based on Iowa beating Michigan already. I mean how else do you explain Nebraska losing to NW and Iowa losing to Minny.

  7. Not sure if this belongs in other teams section, but....

Should Joe Paterno Survive Penn State’s Child Sex Scandal?

Paterno, of all people, was never supposed to go out like this.

    http://newsfeed.time...ld-sex-scandal/

Long story short, JoePa was told by a witness that something of a sexual nature happened between Sandusky and a 10 year old boy and instead of calling the police, he told his boss. And then let it go at that.

This makes me sad. Like the TIME writer, I would never have expected JoePa to not ferociously move to protect a child. This will tarnish him forever. Rightfully.

Well - he did kind of tell the police. He reported it to the head of the campus police. Now whether or not he should have followed up is a completely separate issue but you can't fault him for not reporting it to the authorities.

  8. This thread is a joke, Bo is going to end up 9-3 or 10-2! You do not fire someone with that kind of record unless you truely want mediocrity on a regular basis. It happensfootball is not a big deal! Pancreatic cancer is a big deal!

That might be the single most ridiculous statement I've read on here. Of course in the grand scehme of things football pales in comparisson to any cancer....but this isn't a "cancer" board, it's a football board. Guess what people come on here to talk about.

From all the talk in the Shed, I think they come here to talk about boobs.

So why am I reading all this stuff in the football forum?!?!?

  9. 6 of our last 8 losses have been due to a breakdown in kick coverage. Fake punts and onside kicks are just things we can't seem to figure out how to even recognize let alone defend against. How hard is it to predict that when your running back has over 250 yards on the day and your team has been making 7-8 minute drives and there are 6 mintues left in the game that the other team is GOING TO FAKE IT!

    :bang

  10. I have finally figured out our problem this year. We have to play you guys. The last time we played Nebraska we had our worst team of the decade. Now we are playing you guys again and we again have our worst team of the decade. It is all your fault!

    :sarcasm

  11. I wouldn't say your band is horrible - but definitely not one of the better ones. I have never been a fan of their marching style or precisions though.

I will say that the crowd was much more into this game than any of the others I have been to - I actually ended up standing for about 90% of the game, but I have never been all that impressed with the noise levels in Memorial. I am not sure if it is due to the architecture letting the sound out or just too many people not making noise. Memorial - imo - also has a problem with how far away from the field the stands start. That does have an affect on the effectiveness of the sound on the field.

I did have to laugh when I was watching the OSU cheerleaders. They would start to do some of their stunts and then remember, oh yeah we can't do that here and so their moves would turn into some sort of weird half lifted hugging as they put the girls back down.
